Pros: AF fast and precise, sharpness at full aperture even at the edges and all focal lengths, weight and contained dimensions, AF mechanism and INTERNAL Zoom, Tropicallizzato, excellent value for money, constant opening, filters 67mm.

Cons: Honestly nothing

Opinion: A beautiful lens. If you don't need an f2.8 (and need a lot less than you think about a zoom like this), this lens is the best choice in the range 70-200 for Nikon F. The fuzzy is very good (diaphragm 9 rounded lanelle). The VR very effective. The minimum focus distance of 1 meter allows for good macro use. The focal length remains the one indicated at the minimum focusing distance. Being an internal zoom does not enter dust with the use, it does not blow air on the sensor, it does not unbalance zooming. It's tropicallized. Very nice lens.

Pros: Sharpness, weight, stabilization.

Cons: Overly expensive tripod ring

Opinion: I made a nice cheap sacrifice to buy it and.. Wow. It's really impressive. The stabilization is great. Allows shots at 1/60. Good blur. Striking sharpness and colors. Acceptable weight. I preferred it to his older brother F 2.8. The only sore note is the ring with the tripod mount which is optional, and is overly expensive.

Pros: Weight, sharpness, quality, colors etc.

Cons: Nobody

Opinion: I have now for 5/6 months, is the perfect lens for me, being all in all light in the mountains is a pleasure to carry it, has an optical quality for me at the top, I'm very satisfied with the purchase, I recommend it to all those who want something light and High quality. I use it on d600 I usually always shoot with tripod and MF, but when I happen to shoot freehand I know that the VR and the AF are really awesome

Pros: Sharpness, Autofocus, color, stabilizer, size, weight,

Cons: Not received

Opinion: I used the lens for a year mainly for fashion street, portraits and events indoors and no doubt the lens is a gem. The quality is very high and the AF silent and fast engages even in low light conditions. The VR stabilizer allows far-fetched shots at 200mm with 1/60s-1/100s, turning it off you will notice the boost it offers. With such short times you can compensate for the problem of the diaphragm closed by lowering the ISO (with D750 goes love and agree). The colors are full and I did not find any aberration that could not be fixed in LR or PP. Dimensions and weight more than contained make this lens a reliable and transportable companion in little space, Sorpatutto compared to a 2.8. The lens is worth all the €800 spent, I had a used specimen taken in store in Milan with 1 year warranty, held perfectly. If F4 is not a compromise for you, you have found the right lens.

Pros: sharpness, vr and weight

Cons: collar that costs as much as a 50ino

Opinion: after having overcome the scam of the original collar sold at a price from robbery, we appreciate the qualities of this lens. Obviously it is designed to work better outside closed diaphragms where it holds the comparison with the 2.8 but that shows an advantage not just in terms of weight and size. excellent vr. I used it with great satisfaction in sports, landscape and even astrophotography with excellent results. some portrait at f4 sometimes runs away as well;) is very recommended if you do not have to shoot indoors with very little light

Pros: Sharpness even with open diaphragms, autofocus, color rendering, fairly low weight, value for money.

Cons: Missing the collar for the supplied tripod but with ONLY € 7 (!!!!) I got it in China and it works perfectly, NIKON should speculate a little less on its products that sometimes have exaggerated prices.

Opinion: I was undecided between this lens and a F2.8 both Nikon and another brand, then given the weight I decided to "lighten" the kit and not the wallet. I must say that already from the first shots I was thrilled with my choice, apart from the diaphragm less I found no other differences between my and the Beast F2.8 that a friend made me try, same shots made with the surprise that at F4 this creates me a file with a clarity above the "PRO 2.8" to TA so at most if I need a diaphragm in more I raise the ISO and I remain in my pocket a thousand euro coupons that I invested in other optics. Combined with the multiplier Kenko is clear that loses 2 diaphragms and something sharp but a 400MM seems to me that costs a few euro more ..... and I'm not a professional who publishes in National Geographic so I'm fine so, very satisfied. The only negative consideration is that in my opinion with very closed diaphragms loses comparison with other zooms but how many times do you shoot at F22 / 32? I noticed this thing photographing the waterfalls and to get the blur not bawas the gray filter since the light was really big so I closed everything possible but as I said the image has remained less clear to me with more open diaphragms. For everything else in my opinion is a spectacular view.

Pros: Weight, sharpness, autofocus

Cons: nobody

Opinion: I did a great purchase and if you do not need the 2.8 diaphragm is the best choice. It does not weigh anything and duplicate it with TC20III almost completely retains its speed. I do not know its output yet with the multiplier but it's a fact that you have a 140-400 in the bag. It is used at acceptable prices. The hood is not much but I come from a 80-200 2.8 Nikon AF-D with two hinges: the 70-200 just bought seems to have all the more.

Pros: weight, clarity, color, VR

Cons: at the moment no one

Opinion: Taken used, Nital with 3 months of life, tested on D750 gives me great photos. I have compared it with the TAMRON 70/200 2.8 VC in my possession. My impressions: sharp opening, precise AF and fast enough (maybe a little faster than TAMRON), excellent VR (60% of the photos taken at 1 / 5th of a second they can be used, while with TAMRON at 1/5 second I can get a percentage not higher than 30%), faster but more loud than TAMRON. The hood does not allow effective shielding even when the sun is slightly out of the frame causing a loss of contrastornMy feel to recommend the purchase especially if found to be used at a fair price.rn

Pros: Sharpness, fast AF, image stabilization, tropicalization

Cons: frankly none

Opinion: Sharpness at the top also in f4, fast AF, excellent stability also call it "the thin one" for its relative lightness, I much prefer the big brother f / 2.8 for this reason. If you do not always shoot in indoor low light, then take this f / 4, which, among other things, as clarity is higher. And 'internal focus, and does not change its length nor focheggiando nor zooming, fantastic! RnNei tight portraits to f4 behaves very well and the bokeh is pleasant, also used to focal 135-200 mm also gives an appreciable degree of background blur, so do not feel the lack of major aperture.rnIn supplied lack the tripod bracket, you can take a "compatible" from the little bay, the one I took myself and metal is very similar to the original that, frankly, is over- prezzata.rnrnrn

Pros: Sharpness, color rendering, VR, AF speed

Cons: It is not weather sealed

Opinion: It's my first telephoto lens and I am really happy with the purchase. L 'AF is quiet and quick to put the subject in focus with an amazing sharpness. The color rendering provided by nanocrystals I always liked so much, especially in this goal. The VR allows you to get up to 3 stops (I do not have a steady hand) .rnObiettivo recommended

Pros: Amazing sharpness, VR, lens quality, lightness

Cons: A bit 'plasticky

Opinion: After reading and viewed dozens of articles, tests, reviews and other at the end I decided to take this 70-200 f4. Found used a few months in a specialist shop in my town I could not say no (price too tempting) and I then proceeded to lower my current account. Currently I'm still testing but the first impressions are absolutely excellent. I was undecided until the last moment whether to take the f4 or f2.8 version but after trying them both I had no doubts. Too much more comfortable, lighter too, too much more usable on f4 model. Considering that as sharpness and final overall yield we are absolutely on par. VR fantastic and made lightning fire. Do not miss a shot and even in low light does not seem to suffer much. Excellent the focus. If you do not need to force an opening 2.8 this version is certainly preferable especially for portability. Really good in all and fully satisfied with the purchase.

Pros: sharpness, practicality of use, lightness, optical quality, VR

Cons: modest and indeed ugly lampshade

Opinion: This lens is Columbus' egg. Reducing brightness and adopting polymers in place of the metal alloy, the japs have pulled out a light, easily transportable optics with a yield very close to that of the 70-200 f 2.8 VR2 (and I can well say, having them both in the house). Almost the exact same sharpness, almost the same identical bokeh, and like the little brother asphalt severely the various old 80-200 (AFS included) as well as the 70-200 f 2.8 VR1 and the overrated 180 f 2.8. Our little one is also equipped with the latest version of the VR nikon which - try to believe - is absolutely prodigious. As robustness and consistency in performance the 70-200 f 2.8 VR 2 is certainly another thing but we are talking about a professional goal, while the f4, for when beautifully it can go, always remains a plastic. I think any evolved photoamateur should consider buying it, better at that price absolutely not found! Vote 10, absolutely undeserved. UPDATE OCTOBER 2019: After 4 years I am objectively over-happy with our plastic, the 70-200 FL rests at home and will probably go on the market, since I do not care about sports nor weddings and therefore the most brightness is for me Superfluous. The f 4 you can take it always with you, it's sharp to be scary, in short a real joker!

Pros: Sharpness, color rendering, VR efficient, blurred delicious

Cons: Accuracy of the fire to the minimum distance

Opinion: I got to try my new zoom in ideal lighting conditions, and I must say that the color rendering and the precision of the edges are professional optical, without the slightest chromatic aberration. In my tests gives his best already af: 5.6. Shooting freehand VR it seemed to work pretty well, much better than dell'80-400 same focal length. The D7100 is even better than the D750 where, if you do not want to vignetting, we must intervene by stopping and setting the vignette control on "high." A fully open the bokeh effect is natural and pleasant. Some concern about a possible use of macro lens: the minimum distance (about a meter) fire seems moved one centimeter behind the focus point, which does not happen already to a meter and a half away. This is why I did not give 10 to this perspective that remains really Eccel ... lens.

Pros: Minimum distance of focus, light, space, clarity, stability, speed AF, construction.

Cons: I struggle to find.

Opinion: I bought it used to be a week, it was looking a bit 'of time. Just I picked up I felt in tune. I use both the D610 and D750 with that I do not find differences, the balance is more than excellent, the sharpness is fantastic, the focus fast and accurate, the blurred and very impressive, shooting quietly even at 1/10 of a second and the picture is stopped. Little cluttered and the weight is more than acceptable. It focuses closer than f2.8. I keep it constantly now mounted on a body now on the camera body, I do not find the way to put it to rest. Pros: Sharpness, stabilization, Weight & Size, Minimum Focusing Distance

Cons: Building

Opinion: A lens with the uppercase O, in my opinion gives the tracks to 2.8 VRII: the sharpness is the same, the color rendering is the same, the blur is the same (with the advantage that it does not cut the focal length of the minimum focusing distance focus and focheggia much closer). With the addition of a TC20EIII becomes a macro lens with a quality more than passable. Weighs little, it takes up little space, has a stabilizer fantastic. In my opinion the best in the house Zoom Nikon after 14-24. The only flaw is that it is built to the highest levels, where the 2.8 is better, but we're talking about small differences, is no longer a plasticky 24 1.4G or 1.4G 85 so let's say that it's okay for today's standards brand ... rnih conclusion, in my opinion, a must have.

Pros: sharpness, low weight, blurred, speed af, minimum distance maf

Cons: no one

Opinion: If we want we can find defects: plasticky, missing the collar, the hood is bad etc ... rnMa sorry, each lens has its function. I personally took for landscapes. It has an optical performance at all focal incredible ... even better than the brother he f / 2.8! The blurred if only f / 4 is very pleasant and already at f / 4 is absent from defects ... what the f / 2.8 instead presents such as vignetting. It weighs nothing and then the collar does not interest me because in the backpack just breaks the boxes !!! mica small thing for those taking planes or take it in the mountains at 3500 meters. He stabilizer which is amazing and allows shots to 200 mm to 1/60 with sensors such as the D800! RnPoi talk about the distance of focus: 1mt poor compared to 1.5 in the 70-200 f / 2.8 which means that even in the portraits gets along just fine with excellent blurred as long as the photographer knows him and knows how to use it better (this obviously applies to all equipment) .rnIo believe that the strength of this lens is the practicality and versatility. It allows you to do everything at optimum levels ... certainly not a 135 F / 2.0, it is not a 300 f / 2.8 macro and not a 100, but if one wants a lens specialist takes it and uses it to situations for which it is designed. rnChi choose this lens I'm sure they will be impressed by the optical quality and its praticità.rn

Pros: Lightweight, auto focus and brightness.

Cons: No one. I do not understand why in many complain about the lack of the collar is so lightweight (only 140g more than the 24-120 that I own) that I do not see absolutely necessary.

Opinion: E 'was love at first ... click! In my opinion it has nothing to envy to 2.8. Indeed, the lightness is its strong point which makes it much more practical older brother. There are those who complain that it is plastic, but why? If it was metal it would have been used to plant the nails in the wall? I think not.

Pros: For the pros I very much agree with the reviews so far published and therefore do not add more.

Cons: The overall look a bit '"Francis of Assisi" compared to other Nikon optical performance. The price, not really popular, he would have deserved some more effort.

Opinion: I have a few days ago, replaced my old 70/200 f / 2.8 VR1 with this new objective, and then my judgment about the appearance by "poor man" is definitely influenced by the older brother. But aside from the aesthetics, everything else is in the right place: weight, handling and dimensions are his skills more positive.rnIl my previous 70/200 because of the weight and size was almost always riposo.rnDa a point of view Optical, this new lens I was really very impressed. I find it works better for sharpness, resarncromatica and no vignetting. I took over a hundred photos in various subjects, and the results are really good: bright colors and saturated shots with well-rntrastati, excellent sharpness throughout the frame. All this for the benefit of post production as there is definitely "tweak" of meno.rnResto increasingly convinced that today's targets are available with improved optical characteristics with some "lightening" mechanic. But not being a professional and photographing as a hobby notI feel the need of optical battleships. Therefore, the exchange between the two objectives, on paper debatable, was unarnoperazione for me vantaggiosa.rnrn

Cons: Ring Tripod not included

Opinion: This is a zoom lens with wide focal length range which, however, has a weight and a footprint not excessive and such as to allow its use even during long trips or trips, always ensuring superb optical performance in all respects (including the resistance to the backlight and a pleasant blur), in particular in terms of sharpness. Cons: Price

Opinion: Taken from a few days at a great price from the Ollo Store warranty two years and absolutely original packaging and undamaged. Lenses that just melt my heart to look at them they are so clear .... dials and levers of management absolutely handy and maximum fluidity of movement. After 10 minutes it is in your hand you seem to know him from a life as you leave embrace so so natural. Overall balance perfectly acceptable despite its length (which incidentally does not change during zooming). RnIl hood is very sturdy and long .... offers a great protection of the front lens in the movements. Focus lightning fast and super stabilizer. The focus ring does not rotate during autofocus, so you can support the lens in any way without interfering with the focus, but you can correct, however, in each moment ...... shame on a DX is a bit long as minimum focal .... on a full frame would be his! I am fully satisfied with the purchase, even if I thought long because I was struggling with his older brother but finally after some tests between weight (which destroys you arm a lot faster than you think), the footprint, cost (high) and especially for the type of photos that I do so I hardly need f2.8. The color rendering is very similar to that of the Nikkor 16-35mm f4.rnHo had in the past the rival Canon 70-200mm f4 IS: I can certainly say that this new lens Nikon has a yield very similar to bianchino.rnConsigliatissimo, undoubtedly !

Pros: Sharpness, fast autofocus, lightness and SUPERstabilizzatore

Cons: The collar-1 RT could be standard

Opinion: I was in the store and wondered why this lens is never available, he said gaurda arrived the courier should have sent me one, I would have left there I YOU NO! tonight I tried and discarded, I was impressed on the D700 to f6.3 iso 3200 light chamber 200 mm. with 1/10 VR a really spectacular I tried the 70-200 f2.8 VR but as it is better to say almost as eye resolution better than 2.8 but should have the tools to make a measurement, but astounded me.

Pros: Sharpness, fast autofocus, light weight, stabilizer.

Cons: Price slightly high - collar optional

Opinion: The clarity is amazing. The color rendition is excellent, requires very little / no post-production. Aberrations almost non-existent. Suitable for portraits. Great for Street in low-light conditions, VR excellent (5 stops) and also due to the weight quite content. Recommended for those who can not afford the big brother.
