Opinion: Usually shot with the Summicron fourth version (11819). I didn't think there was that much difference. 11819 has a vintage personality and you can see it well. Somehow it remembers the film because all its small imperfections, being a lens of the 70s, give that flavor of the film of those years. The APO is another world, something spectacular, perfect. It seems to see a file taken with an average 100MP format. Basically the 11819 has a vintage film-like personality, which I love. The APO turns the machine into a very light medium format, perfection, I didn't think the machine sensor was that good, with the old lens you don't appreciate the sensor like that. It's a very three-dimensional lens, with the APO the files seem to come out of the monitor. Lately I have been trying the 100mp Phaseone with its top-of-the-range lenses. The impression that the on-screen files give is very similar to what I saw yesterday with the files of the Leica M Monochrom typ246+50apo, it manages to solve all 24mp and gives the impression that they are even more. A whole other world than my 11819 which instead has a more film mood and is as if it can exploit only part of the sensor's potential. That is my impression. In practice, the 246+50apo becomes almost a medium format. At this point, I have to say that it would also be amply justified. Anyway, I still love my 50, who has a lot to say, in his own way. But now I know what 246 can do for real.
