Pros: Absolute excellence as far as the APSC format is concerned.

Cons: Few details.

Opinion: Let me start by saying that for me the X-Trans file is the best the market offers today in APSC, so I could be biased. The 40 mpx of the X-T5 is gorgeous. Workable, with a grain that when present (from ISO 3200 onwards) remains pleasant and sufficient even for fairly pushed crops and in any case easily solvable with today's software. They really put the links in the chain downstream to the test. Comprehensive features: nothing is missing. Just look at the data sheet. Functionality/ergonomics at very high levels but they have to please. Nothing is missing apart from the stacked sensor but for that there is more. Features such as double slots, efficient stabilization, waterproofing and a wide range of optics, including third-party ones, make it an ideal tool for professional use. Quite high cost but much lower than the other top of the range. I found the flaws in reference to an autofocus that is not always perfect in tracking and in the obsolescence of some zoom lenses of the kit which, despite being of excellent quality, show the years of design they have on their shoulders. I don't feel at all the lack of predisposition for battery grips which I make up for, in the rare cases of need using long and heavy lenses with one of the grips on the market. A warning: I don't recommend Adobe software that, although improved a lot, does not in my opinion do full justice to X-Trans files. Ultimately, a vote tending to the maximum as soon as they have perfected the AF and modernized the optics a little.

Pros: Ultimate Iteration of the XT Series

Cons: A menu that has now become cryptic and requires a university exam to understand it

Opinion: What can I say, they solved the problems added with the xt4 and its bizarre LCD, now we have the refinement of the xt3. The 40mpx sensor is an addition that I think anyone would have done without, but that little bit of extra resolution is always handy. It's a shame that the size of the files has become "important", and the SD cards, shooting jpg-raw, are quickly emptied. Solid keys, improved grip, I don't really know what more could you want. I prefer the rangefinder, but for now, Fuji doesn't offer a viable alternative. The stabilizer not brutally effective in videos, I would have expected something more. The price is perhaps the only real "stumbling block" to date, clashing with FF alternatives, inevitably better as ISO increases. For those like me, however, who use Fuji exclusively for their film simulations and JPG shots, it is a sacrifice that can be made. The only drawback for me is a menu that has now become so rich in settings that it is really difficult to understand. Without using online guides, it is almost impossible to use the camera body. Trivially, already turning off the camera you lose the settings, as if they were "temporary", which can certainly be solved through some settings, but which I have not yet found. The rest of the menus are now eternal, and without the slightest explanation that would have certainly helped (classic info button...). AF, on the other hand, is also very usable in a work context, used to photograph a boxing match with a 100-400 and did not take a photo, it was also about time. In conclusion, definitive iteration of the XT system, a must-have for Fuji enthusiasts. For the others who are not interested in the world of film simulations, now with these figures, I would turn to something else.

Pros: dimensions. weight. ergonomics. photo quality

Cons: the only drawback really heats up too much

Opinion: My first fuji bought just out came from Canon. I think it is perfect for photos, for videos I do not pronounce "never made" but from a test made out of pure curiosity it seems to me that they are not bad at all the only thing and the display that is not completely rotatable, but for photography I find it a big advantage, ergonomics with its wheels for me and the ideal reminds me of my nikon F3 that I still keep then and completely customizable great value but also For some a defect because it leads to having a menu really difficult to remember for the many options, but fortunately also that is customizable. The only real defect that I find and that heats up really much until the message appears to let it rest a few minutes but this summer were tropical temperatures, we will see in autumn how it behaves

Pros: Fantastic camera, one of the best Fuji I had together with the xpro 3, quality of the 40 m.pixel rock, ergonomics, rings, construction,

Cons: The square that determines the point of focus (manageable with the joistik peak) tends to move from the center involuntarily touching with the nose .... And you have to bring it back to the center with waste of time The only drawback I found

Opinion: There is little to say is the camera for photographers The rest are pippe !! This is my humble opinion (professional since 1978) I believe that Fuji has listened to many professionals and has taken care of the point, for a general and non-targeted use (video, sports photo, ) Be the best, often we fossilize on performance that on average you do not use this does very well everything, and if you do not want to buy three cameras is ideal for quality, ergonomics, speed, practicality.

Pros: Ergonomics, Viewfinder, Robustness, Battery Life, Tropicalization, Dual SD Slots, LCD Tilt, Stabilizer, Shadow Dynamic Range, Fuji Color Rendering, Combined Shutter, General Construction and also of its Optics

Cons: Sensor NOT Stacked, Ease micormosso cause 40mpx, Rolling Shutter in ES, no exposure meter for highlights, ring Still Movie too soft, Autofocus good but not like the competition, Dynamic range highlights poor, too many settings and viewfinder that if not cleaned generates confusion, start noise iso to 3200

Opinion: Taken to replace the Xpro series, what to say is objectively beautiful but not all that glitters is gold. The machine is a real flagship, with a myriad of functions and customization possibilities, to such an extent that it took some time before stitching it entirely to measure, having to clean the evf viewfinder from the superfluous and finding the right setting of the keys, and also find the right setting to manage the 40mpx, and yes, they are objectively too many for an APS-C. Unlike the Xpro series, it has many more keys especially on the back, and over the years among the various models released Fuji, unlike the competition, continues to move everything, but in this XT5 I think they have found the right compromise, in fact I find comfortable the AF-ON and AEL button that you click with only the right thumb. The ergonomics is objectively designed for heavier optics, and in reality this is good given the output of the new fixed ones that have been enlarged. The overall rendering of the file is really very nice with unique colors. The battery lasts a lot from 600 to 700 shots per cycle which is really good for an ML. The ergonomics can then be further improved by adding the grip, in my case I chose that of the JJC which is much cheaper than the original and is much better, allowing me to hook the shoulder strap diagonally, this has further improved ergonomics, as the machine thus positions itself in a "slingshot", balancing the weights downwards. Moving on to the negative things, the machine is not without defects, has a 40mpx sensor that as already said in my opinion are too many for an aps-c, this generates greater sharpness yes, but leads to a series of disadvantages, such as greater noise at high iso and here I limit myself to reach a maximum of 3200, greater shake and the stabilizer must be set properly to limit the problem, in addition to the fact that with more recent optics there is a greater resolution than older optics. In addition, the sensor is not stacked, this leads to a number of additional disadvantages, such as slightly slower AF, higher iso noise, rolling shutter with the electronic shutter. Beyond this, the machine has an excellent dynamic range with regard to shadows where 3 stops are easily recovered, but as regards the highlights maximum 1 stop and not even in the presence of strong contrasts, and for this reason it would have been convenient to have the weighted light meter for highlights, which is missing. The viewfinder is well resolved and the refresh rate is excellent, but in some cases it is too contrasted. The film simulations in the camera I think are totally useless, as the result is not always guaranteed to every scene and therefore I prefer to apply them eventually in post production, where in that case I can see a preview of the final result. Q key convenient exclusively for all those functions that are used in rare cases and easy to access, as well as the MY menu. Another thing I would like to have, but this not only on fuji but on every brand, and a flat or linear profile and the closing curtain for optical change. Who is this machine for, those looking for a solid, professional, high-performance machine body.

Pros: Sensor, ergonomics and classic Fuji interface (key position, rings), viewfinder, construction and compactness of the body, tropicalization, double slot, tiltable display with side release, stabilization, autofocus, user experience, JPEG and film simulations.

Cons: 40 MP need high-performance lenses if you want to use them in full; for those interested, impossible to put a BG; "heavy" RAW files

Opinion: The sensor is undoubtedly the plus of this machine: 125 native ISO for a resolution of 40 MP offer a detailed, malleable, easily workable, really beautiful file. Just congratulations: the step forward compared to the sensor of the X-S10 is sensitive and clear. At low ISO it is difficult to notice that you are shooting with a cropped sensor: there are no differences with an FF (I come from a Z5). Obviously, a similar sensor must be accompanied by quality lenses (Fuji has published the list of lenses that "hold" the 40 MP). I never or almost never use high ISO, but from what I see up to 3200 there is no need to worry (and anyway with new development software this has really become a secondary problem). As for ergonomics and user experience, they are the classic Fuji: the machine is well made, you find everything in its place and in short you take possession of the vehicle and its vintage "flavor". Very well the viewfinder. Excellent JPEG and film simulations: for safety I shoot in RAW + JPEG, but often I use only JPEG. Definitely valid stabilization (we are not at the levels of the micro, but it is very good). The AF is definitely good, although not at the level of Sony: greatly improved with the latest firmware, it allowed me to shoot even in AF-C with Eye control a TA with very high photo rates in focus (lenses 56 and 33). I'm not talking about photo hunting or sports photography that I don't practice. The display is tiltable and detachable from the side. The construction is solid, the machine tropicalized. Defects: the sensor, if you want to take full advantage of it, requires quality lenses. I used an "old" 23 1.4, which on X-S10 was fine, and on X-T5 to TA under certain conditions the defects were really obvious (aberrations, etc.). Not that you can't use it (you can always resample in PP), but in my opinion better go on new lenses. If someone loves BG, they know that you can't apply it to the machine. RAW files are heavy: I personally use "Lossless" files compressed without loss of information.

Pros: beautiful "object" design :), layout for me indispensable, stabilizer, sensor, battery, autofocus

Cons: materials even if of great workmanship and value and I repeat BEAUTIFUL perhaps a little "lighter" to the touch, the rings and buttons that block them especially compared to my previous xt3, on the right turret under the times I preferred the exposure measurement as in xt3

Opinion: Changed more for pleasure than for necessity (the xt3 for my uses was perfect) I imagined an improvement but never so great. the stabilizer is impressed (perhaps because my first cameras did not have it) allow on static subjects absurdly long times in relation to the focal length the 40 MP are just that an amateur pleasure which are, for landscapes it is a nice help to "adjust the framing" and straighten the lines and for portraits the detail and the "naturalness" of the file I see it enormously superior to the 26 MP sensor Autofocus another quantum leap always compared to the XT3 species with the latest update I am very happy with the kidney donated to Fuji for this XT5

Pros: Fantastic camera body, good autofocus. Improved ergonomics compared to the X-T4.

Cons: The autofocus, although good, needs some improvements. Some shortcomings compared to the X-H2 such as the new viewfinder and battery grip.

Opinion: Opinion: This machine is the true evolution of the X-T series that with the X-T4 had undergone an involution in my opinion. The camera body is perfect, very compact but not for this scarce or without the possibility of customization. It grips much better than its predecessor and is very well built. I have to get used to such a small size, sometimes I miss the keys, for better ergonomics, I added the L-shaped plate of the Smallrig which, in my case, in addition to easily allowing me the vertical composition, solves the problem of the little finger "dangling". The menus are quite comfortable, well organized, although I preferred the photo / video switch on the X-T4, I do not understand why they removed it was very convenient and after Fuji, others have adopted the same practical solution. Nice viewfinder even if lower than the X-H2, while if possible, I find it even more fluid and natural than the already excellent one present on the X-T4. Autofocus good but not excellent, on fast animals, if I want a nice percentage of shots in focus, I have to fall back on the sister X-H2s that does this job very well. The burst is a little castrated, I suppose also for the slowness of the autofocus module, slowness in recalculation that is noticeable on fast subjects. The image quality is the best I've ever seen on aps-c, we are very close to the level of the Sony A7RIII that I have had for so long. Finally I can crop in those situations where the subject is too far away and in those cases where I love to focus on detail (for example in macros). Obviously at high ISO (> 6400) it suffers much more than a full frame, but today with the new software, the problem is mitigated a lot (I use DXO Deep Prime). The new color profiles are very nice, while I do not understand the choice to keep the toy filters, absolutely useless. For those who want to play with images, there are thousands of apps made on purpose. I know very little about the video part, but it seems really high level even if inferior to X-H2, I will take the whim to make some videos to animals. Excellent also the stabilization that, for me, is superior to the X-T4, here you get really high levels, even for the video side. Quite interesting is the decent usability of the electronic shutter even if the machine has a rather poor readout time. I almost forgot that I had the mechanical one that I only use for very fast shots. Excellent display that is "tiltable" both horizontally and vertically. Very convenient to the street. Complete the equipment of rings, wheels and buttons, there is to really customize a world. Using the front and rear ring, both clickable, you can use the machine very quickly for those occasions where you need to be able to change times / iso / apertures quickly and easily. We come to the cons that are there. The first and it is a very stupid thing, the viewfinder less resolute, a good viewfinder would be appropriate on all machines of a certain value and this machine does not cost little. Also sorry for the lack of battery grip, it makes little sense to remove an option that one buys if he wants and, among other things, they are options sold at a very high cost. To close, we hope for a firmware update to improve the autofocus, the camera is promoted with flying colors.

Pros: It is the definitive camera for general use that allows you to have an IQ really close to the FF while maintaining the miniaturization of the Fuji system.

Cons: Slightly less resistance to rise with the iso compared to the previous version above 3200 but nothing unrecoverable in post.

Opinion: I believe that this new generation of Fuji represents a definitive point of arrival for all kinds of needs. In particular, the X-T5 is a hybrid tool that provides both amateur and professional audiences with everything they need to produce videos and images of absolute value. Without going into technical details I will only specify which upgrades have been made compared to previous versions. 1) Reliable AF in all circumstances both in the field of photos and especially videos. 2) Reduction of weight and dimensions compared to the X-T4 with better balance 3) Improved grip, deeper, and improved position of the shutter button 4) Tilting screen 5) Rigid and non-rubber doors 6) Faster play-back of images and videos 7) Higher resolution that produces a very natural sharpness compared to the 26 mega 8) Greater malleability of the file that brings it to the levels of an FF 9) Nostalgic Neg Profile very valid for almost all contexts in particular for the portrait 10) 6k in video 11) Red frame during the Rec 12) 500 iso natives in F-LOG. Pros: The ring interface is very practical, sensor quality at least up to 1600 ISO, with a battery you take many shots, precise and fast autofocus

Cons: The accompanying software leaves a lot to be desired, it must undoubtedly be "studied" to get the most out of her

Opinion: I have had the X-T5 since January 2023 and I have now totaled a few thousand shots. I immediately found an almost immediate feeling with the camera for photographs of static subjects and, with a minimum of practice, also dynamic and unpredictable (my cats). The mechanical rings are practical and quick to use. The quality of the images - even in Jpeg if the light is not particularly complex - despite a lens not excellent in terms of definition such as the 16-80 WR, leaves amazed both in terms of yield and colors. Light and solid, it carries around without problems throughout the day. Of course, like all modern cameras, it must be "studied" and customized when you want to use it for shots a little out of the norm, and the manual, despite being in Italian and complete, is certainly not designed for those who want to learn the secrets of use slowly. Negative note for the supplied software: the Camera Remote app has the sufficiency, but those for pc (X Webcam 2 to use it as a sophisticated webcam and Pc autosave for wireless image transfer) are clearly old by design and I have not been able to make them work. In any case, I would buy it right away!

Pros: "Nostalgic negative" film simulation, ergonomics, weight and small size, adjustable screen, look and feel

Cons: good but improvable viewfinder accommodation distance (especially for spectacle wearers)

Opinion: The look and feel of the camera is fantastic: especially in the silver version, it reminds me of the old Canon AE-1 Program film of my father ... beautiful in my opinion the new film simulation "Nostalgic negative": with a right setting, helps to give the photos an almost "cinematic" look, without having the tones perhaps a bit 'exaggerated of the "Classic Negative" in my opinion ... The ergonomics are excellent, the grip is very good (with only the right hand you hold firmly, as long as you do not have too big hands perhaps), and the weight and size are right. The adjustable screen is also excellent, very comfortable and effective (in a moment you can orient it for vertical shooting for example). The only flaw in my opinion is the distance of accommodation of the viewfinder: and' certainly good, but for those who use glasses like me perhaps it would have been preferable a little increased to be able to view the viewfinder better in full size. Still a great camera, highly recommended. Vote 10.

Pros: Excellent image quality and definition, Autofocus, Stabilization, ISO OK sealing up to 3200, Ergonomics.

Cons: High price, I don't use the battery gripp but it's a lack on a camera of this type.

Opinion: Exceptional quality of the images produced both JPG and RAF: thanks to the 40 MPX I can not "force" on the sharpness to obtain a detailed file; Autofocus is a huge step forward; the stabilizer has improved considerably compared to the one on the X-S10: I can shoot with shutter speeds up to 1/10" without great difficulty; excellent sealing at high ISO: noise generated above ISO 3200 characterized by a "fine grain" and therefore easily controllable in post-production, in this regard I recommend watching the following video "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AFVLiw1UgNA&t=493s". Solid, well-built camera. I've been using Fujifilm for 4 years, it took me a couple of days to find the right feeling with the "it is OK!" machine.

Pros: Attractive aesthetics, mechanical rings that make it pleasant and very practical to use, stabilized sensor ........ and I would also add dual SD slots.

Cons: It lacks battery gripp, viewfinder resolution not up to the competition, too many megapixels for an apsc.

Opinion: I tried it but it did not convince me, to be a camera body dedicated exclusively to those who mainly do photography, it does not seem very smart to equip it with a viewfinder with less resolution than the sisters of the H series ...... As far as I know, the viewfinder is for photographing. Same thing for the lack of possibility of being able to mount a battery grip, I personally do not use it, but in my house it is a useful accessory for those who photograph, not for those who play monopolies. But the thing that made me desist were the 40megapixels, definitely useless for normal photographic use, and on the practical side I did not notice any difference in quality compared to my XT2, indeed ......... I would say that I like more files than XT2, and moreover files so heavy create me more difficulty than real benefit. I would have bought it for the stabilizer on the sensor, neglecting the fact of the viewfinder and battery grip, but unfortunately I saw that for me the resolution is excessive and on the practical side brings me more disadvantages than advantages. Too bad!

Pros: AF, nostalgic neg simulation, battery life, very accurate in detail, tilting display, 40mpx for crop and large prints.

Cons: Awkward AF-ON button, price.

Opinion: Ok the XT series is no longer the flagship of Fuji and all in all I do not care. I come from an xt3 that in my opinion was not easy to replace, not having considered the xt4 because of its display. I've owned it for just over a week and I immediately felt comfortable with its rings where you expect them. I chose the silver model and I must say that it is very fascinating. The cons are few and I have already described them above. A very positive thing is the battery life and its housing very well done, all giving a good feeling of solidity. It is a machine for those who do photography and not video but also do those. I shot at 1/30 handheld with the 70-30 without even the shake thanks to his IBIS. Promoted.

sent on December 13, 2022

Pros: Versatile machine, produces spectacular files that allow an accurate post, at the same time, if you want a "ready" product jpegs are of excellent quality and you can choose from many presets already set. The rings are fascinating and retro taste, even the videos are not bad. The main advantage is that, if necessary, you can put it in your pocket to make street, without sacrificing quality. You see the 40 Mpx especially in portraits. Excellent stabilization and focus, once tried, you can hardly do without it. The display "only" tiltable (but with a side release lever) is instead better than that of the previous ones, especially when you are around. Intuitive menus and programmable keys.

Cons: A great camera wants big lenses, at least qualitatively speaking, so it does not make as much as it could if used with low light optics, in which case the 40 Mpx become a problem because you have to work on the iso, I had the X-S10 and from this point of view (ISO seal) it was better.

Opinion: I'm a newbie to Fujifilm, so I don't have a complete picture yet, but thanks to this brand I have re-evaluated the ASPC. This car is not a generalist (certainly more than the X-H2 of which it is closely related) but excels in some fields, such as street and reportage, as it is small in size and in any case with an acceptable grip. The seal at high iso is not like that of an FF, although the stabilizer manages to compensate a lot. For this reason you are very limited in the use of low-light optics, for example I have a 10-24 f 4, it is in low light conditions it is very difficult to get a discreet product. Even in this case, however, the file produced comes to the rescue allowing extraordinary PP recoveries. The possibility of being able to choose from many film simulations is something never seen in other brands, very useful in case of events and social photos, or when you want to give a particular mood to the shot, and you can do it directly in the room. I made a video (I never make them) and I was surprised by the very high quality. You probably won't buy this machine if you're a vlogger, but in an emergency you can get great results in this area too. In short, a machine for many but not for all (cit.) that gives the best of itself with high quality optics. I can't wait to try it for sports photos or photo hunting, since the AF sector is certainly more evolved than many competitors.

avatarjunior
sent on December 04, 2022

Pros: The usual big Fuji machine where the dials are where you would like to find them. I was surprised by the quality at high iso that is almost superimposable to the sister X-T4. Larger compensation ring than the other X-T (I use it a lot) smaller switch and unlikely to turn on inadvertently when you inflate it in the bag. 40 Mpx

Cons: for now nothing... indeed the rear display has a very slight backlash when closed, a feature also common to the X-T3 and folding displays of this type.

Opinion: I bought it on December 2nd taking advantage of an extraordinary price that was charged to me by a seller in Viterbo where I was for a reportage. I had gone to see her live and went out with the car around my neck. I must admit that I was a bit worried about the yield at high iso, say 3200/6400 where I often shoot for my reportage, worried in comparison with the X-T4 and X-T3. I had to change my mind: this X-T5 churns out RAF files practically overlapping as a disturbance to its sister X-T4, in this ISO range. To be picky the X-T4 is slightly but only slightly less "disturbed" not forgetting that the difference between the two machines are many Mpx. 26 against 40. At the moment I am very happy with the purchase and the advantage that brings me in large prints and crop that I often find myself practicing using little zoom and a lot of fixed lenses of the strictly original series f1,4 and f2. Let's face it, this is a camera for photographers even if it can make amazing videos. Everything is where it needs to be, even the handle is more comfortable and slightly deeper. The lack of battery grip for me is irrelevant, so I would never have bought it, instead I will buy as soon as I can find a nice "L" bracket dedicated to Arca Swiss present in all 4 of my Fujifilm camera bodies because I use the tripod a lot. I would add that the AF is amazing, although I am also very comfortable with that of the X-T4, but this has improved. For those who complain about the Joistick I must say that this is well harmonized with the machine, a large pan would have distorted the machine itself. What can I say, good fuji mom, now I wait for the X-Pro 4 with the same sensor and maybe the stabilizer.

sent on November 27, 2022

Pros: ALL: 40mp ultra detail, high iso hold excellent even at 3200, physical rings now softer, improved ergonomics, dual sd slot, lcd screen type xt2-3, autofocus comparable to modern canon and sony, nostalgic color profile negative

Cons: None: perhaps the lack of battery grip but when I had the xt3 the duration was declared for 350 shots the xt4 600 shots and now with xt5 740 shots in my opinion the battery grip becomes useless I keep a second battery in my pocket and if one needs more' pagnatura you take an l-bracket or a cage

Opinion: I've had all the Fuji XT and I've always liked them. But this goes a giant step because it introduces the 40MP sensor to make very detailed and sharp photos. I used it for a week I all these criticisms to the high iso I can not understand I tried to 1600 and 3200 and the file does not seem bad at all. indeed the hold at high iso seems to me the same as XT4. Who complains in my opinion does not know how to shoot or makes too many mental pipes because 'maybe comes from full frame. The autofocus is incredible and was the only real Achilles heel of the Fuji system now hooks subjects without hesitation on both humans and dogs and cats that usually never stand still. The ergonomics and 'improved the machine and' smaller and there is a slight increase in' handle the rings are bigger' and turn easily on XT4 were a bit hard. The display and 'back that of XT3 I have always hated the display for youtubers I do not make videos where I have to recover I would have put but the joystick of the XH2 where you go better with gloves that of XT4 and' a bit small I'm glad they kept the 2 SD card slots because' I'm full of cards and I do not want to change. In the end I am very satisfied with the purchase and I think that if they use the same processor battery and stabilization also on the future X100Vi I take it as a second body.
