Pros: Autofocus speed, sharpness, very low chromatic aberrations, stabilization

Cons: It's "just" a 2.8

Opinion: I was disappointed with two previous experiences with 24-70 2.8 from other brands. I thought I had to give up this zoom with great versatility. The Canon made me change my mind. The speed of the autofocus, the stabilization, the sharpness, the almost absence of chromatic aberrations and the contained flare are positively striking. I do not put among the cons the weight knowing that it was not a feather: however, the ergonomics of the R bodies is so good that it withstands the fatigue well even for hours with the machine in hand. And in reality it is not a real defect for me even the detachment of the planes at 2.8 light years away (obviously) from the fixed 1.4. Just take the measurements and use it properly. If anything, with the extension of the body when going from 24 to 70, I have some doubts about the dust tightness. Currently I only have this lens and I am satisfied with it.

Pros: Sharpness, autofocus, stabilization

Cons: Cost

Opinion: Exceptional lens, combined with the r5 is the perfect companion for ceremonies, very sharp already at full aperture, at f / 4 it is practically a blade, excellent stabilizer and focusing speed. The weight is not a problem, the price could be even if it is the best 24-70 ever produced by canon, in short, if you have a mirrorless R series this is an indispensable lens

Pros: General build quality - maf speed - quietness - stabilization - absolute sharpness - aesthetically beautiful

Cons: Weight

Opinion: Absolutely the best 24-70 f2.8 ever owned, extreme sharpness at all apertures. There is not much to add. Before buying it I saw comparative tests with the counterpart ef L ii with which it beats well. But on a general level it is superior to all openings especially at the edges where it reaches an unparalleled definition. The sharpness is very high but never of the "electronic" type. And that's where it really makes the difference. It is a sharp, clean but non-invasive and artifact file. The weight is felt on the Mirrorless and clearly unbalances the weight forward and after a while tired. But it is not necessarily a bad thing about the lens, but about the ergonomics of the machine in my opinion. This consideration, unfortunately, applies to this objective as for all those of a certain weight and value. The additional bezel is a plus but for where it is placed it is inconvenient, in my opinion. Had they put it immediately after the attack it would have been perfect and could have been used in an "analog" way assigning it the function of the openings. Absolutely recommended. 10/10

Pros: resolution, construction, stabilization, Nano-USM autofocus, aesthetics and additional programmable bezel

Cons: cost

Opinion: I bought after a thousand indecisions and second thoughts this lens as a replacement for the excellent EF 24-70 f/2.8 II. Basically I had to add an amount equal to the cost of a 24-70 EF used in excellent condition or a new 24-105 f/4 RF, a madness for amateur use. But it is known that not all decisions are guided only by lucid reason. I say right away that the aesthetics and ergonomics of the lens are of a high level and already these factors are very satisfying. The optical characteristics are of excellence surpassing those already high of the EF brother. Nothing super striking but tangible both in the center and at the edges where the EF paid a little duty. It works well at all focal lengths even at full aperture. I find it particularly more effective than the EF 70mm version. The stabilization is a plus because combined with the internal one of the R5 makes the torque formidable even in low light conditions. The Nano-USM autofocus is definitely more responsive and quiet than the USM version. Distortion correction is always well managed even at maximum focal length. Probably at this focal point a certain work is also done by the software. The additional bezel is a significant plus and very comfortable. For example, I use it to change the autofocus method. In addition to all this, the R5+RF coupling is slightly more compact than the tripleT R5 + adapter + EF version, another element that does not hurt. I did not report flare problems, indeed probably the management of the backlight is slightly improved compared to the EF version. In short, a little better everything except for the dimensions and weight if considered, however, net of those of the possible EF-RF adapter.

Pros: Image quality, extraordinary sharpness, construction, tropicalization, very precise af

Cons: cost

Opinion: Crazy color rendering. I state that on my specimen I did not find problems of excessive flare as someone complains. Solid L-series construction, very fast and silent autofocus, very pleasant blurry, tropicalization and, finally, stabilization. The customizable lens ring is a real treat, it provides greater versatility in programming ISO, aperture or shutter. I do not agree with those who had to complain about the keys and plastics, it is an L series in all respects with the quality that is expected. Since I am used to testing all the lenses I buy on my own, especially to see if I have a good copy, I can tell you that compared to that sacred monster of the EF 24-70 f/2.8 L II it is slightly sharper in the center from 50 to 70 mm, while at the edges it is sharper over the entire range. With the Tamron 24-70 f/2.8 there is no match at all. Last consideration the price: it is quite expensive and you can not have an interesting discount, not that the competition costs less, but you pay it practically at full price if you want it with Canon Italia guarantee like me. I hope I have been useful to you.

Pros: Image quality

Cons: Exaggerated flare

Opinion: Goal undoubtedly of excellent workmanship, but suffers from flare in an exaggerated way! Impossible to shoot against the light even with hood. I am not very satisfied precisely for this reason, other rf lenses that I own such as the 35 and 85 both not serious L do not suffer so much. I do not know if it is just a problem of my unity or it is so, indeed I would be curious to know from those who own it if they also suffer so much from this problem.

Pros: Sharpness, precise and silent af, ductility, blurred at 2.8

Cons: cost

Opinion: Accustomed to fixed lenses and large focal aperture, at first it did not convince me too much, its ductility and sharpness made me change my mind, shooting at 2.8 has an excellent blur, fast and precise silent af, the weight is felt compared to the body of the machine but you get used to it, useful the customizable ring, the stabilizer and the 24 mm lock, the keys are a bit small and plastic, for the rest beyond the high cost I can not say anything, promoted, for the moment I can not say with flying colors.

Pros: Stabilized, L series, tropicalized, perfect AF with Nano-USM, sharpness over the entire focal range

Cons: Vignetting at 24mm and maybe the price.

Opinion: I come from the excellent brother EF second series, so accustomed well regarding image quality, color return and build quality. I used the EF with satisfaction on the R6 for several months with the adapter, until I got to try the corresponding RF. It was love at first sight: exceptional. Everything I have always appreciated about the EF in rf I found improved, even the materials used are more pleasant to the touch. The zoom ring is very smooth and precise, the color rendering warm (as I like it), the definition sharp up to the edges even at f2.8. Stabilization is a very welcome added value that, coupled with the R6, provides unexpected performance. There are two small discords notes: the vignetting evident at 24mm as well as the presence of barrel distortion. These imperfections can fortunately be recovered in the room with the appropriate settings for the lens, or in PP. It is advisable to check the Canon website for updated firmware, yes because rf lenses are equipped with updatable clip sets. The cost is still very high, if you find an opportunity do not miss it.

Pros: all

Cons: nothing

Opinion: L series cost. Excellent color rendering and details throughout the range. Maximum reliability in any condition. Better than its EF series predecessors. For its characteristics it is an optics to be used in almost all situations. All-rounder par excellence. You can't want more than in very particular situations like shots in the interior where you would need more angle. The lens ring provides more freedom in programming ISO, aperture and shutter. Great materials. Weight perfectly balanced with R5. For new RF lenses, I always recommend firmware upgrade from the site.

Pros: Sharpness, aesthetics, additional ring and IS

Cons: Lens length and AF and IS keys not lens level

Opinion: I took it to match with the R6, I found it used on RCE at 2000€ so I can not complain about the price, in a few months it will be new at this price so it will be in line with its EF brothers. I appreciated the speed of AF and the sharpness, we hope it will stay that way since the Canon on that side has always let me down. Finally after decades IS was introduced in 24-70 2.8 so on paper it remains the best ever; to be picky I didn't really appreciate the two keys AF and IS, they look made for non-L lenses (smallness anyway). The overall design still remains very nice, I think one of the nicest in general, I would have appreciated a lower total length since the 70-200 2.8 managed to reduce it to a similar length (I speak as ignorant anyway, if it was done so it means that some technical impediment maybe there was). Very nice also the anthracite graft that perfectly matches the R6, not lastly the additional ring, I thought it was useless instead I put the balance of white, having finished the keys :-) Obviously it is not very light but the quality is weighed :-)

Pros: Sharpness, bokeh, stabilization.

Cons: Maybe just the cost.

Opinion: A very well-groomed realization, both in materials and details, fluid dials, generous dimensions, but well balanced. As has been said, the sharpness is staggering, but nevertheless surprising, for effectiveness, stabilization and bokeh. The optics provide very high performance throughout its focal excursion without dips and/or differences. I would add that it is also aesthetically beautiful.

Pros: SOURNESS SALTITY...!!!

Cons: Very high price and sincerely I would have expected a construction of the external structure with a bit of metal but instead it is all plastic except for the bayonet attachment...!!!

Opinion: Good evening to all, I am a happy owner of a Canon EOS R with RF 24-105 F4 kit, but I wanted something more and I bought the new RF 24-70 F2.8L IS USM. (very expensive almost 2700 euros). I simply wanted to express my opinion on the quality of this perspective: ECCELLENTE....!!! I also own a Nikon D850 with Nikkor 24-70 F2.8 and a Sony A9 with 24-70 F2.8 G Master, both two opticals of extreme quality but this RF 24-70 has a feature that exceeds the competition, that is, it has a sharpness from PAURA to the maximum opening of the F2.8 diaphragm on the entire frame of everything on the same focus plane. I personally had never found this quality in any 24-70 F2.8. , because they usually tend to be quite sharp but not too much just in the middle, and then soften more and more outwards. This RF 24-70 maintains spectacular sharpness from the center to the outside. Wow I'm more than satisfied !!! I'd like to know if any of you have the same room with this same lens and what do you think...? Thank you.....
