Actually, this is not even so vintage since it has continued to be produced in the digital era... in fact on the 5d III and its 22 megapixels it does its excellent job, always sharp even at 80 mm which makes it a good kit lens even if the general experience of use is inferior e.g. to the corresponding 18-55 for APS-C (which unlike this 28-80 they also did in the stabilized version). 58 mm diameter, plastic mount, not very precise rings but the price is considering it, AF still fast enough. Always use with CPL / lens hood (both together you can't really mount them) ... it suffers from flare and stray lights, rear lens reflects (being born for film) good colors and detail, usable for portrait and in any case preferably with careful light management as it is not a particularly contrasted lens. Good all-rounder for light outputs and all in all decent image quality.
