Pros: Very sharp already at 1.4, af, weight

Cons: Nobody

Opinion: I was looking for a bright wide angle. I couldn't take better, you make passes, day by night, you do portraits set at 1.4 and it's pure magic. It is very sharp at TA, L is fast, it is all in all small and light for a 1.4, the final wide angle. In my opinion it envies many goals just released. Highly recommended

Pros: Typical construction of Canon marked in red, sharpness, "magic" vignetting

Cons: basically none if you know what you buy

Opinion: I bought this lens almost on a whim and fell in love with it. You do everything, from architecture to portraits: The TA vignetting is present and clearly visible, just 1 click of Lr or any photo editing program to solve it, which gradually disappears when you close the diaphragm. Often in my shots I leave it, it is so beautiful that in my opinion from a "plus" to the image, especially if there are people framed. Of course, you do not make close-ups but just have a little care and everything goes in its place. Super bright are a drug, there is no talk. I honestly have not yet found defects, I like it a lot and I often mount it on both 1Ds3 and 1Dx: my dinosaurs to which I am definitely fond that despite the advent of ML give me so much satisfaction but this is another matter.

Pros: Canon rendition, good quality at f 5.6

Cons: Really low sharpness given the price at TA, AC visible, vignetting of-3 EV to TA

Opinion: I am not a big fan of the 24mm, but I must say that this for me has flunked completely. For F 1.4 accustomed to "modern" lenses, the sharpness is missing, both in the center and at the edges. Closing to F4 will reach a "normal" sharpness. Let's add that the flare and the chromatic aberrations are evident, the vignetting at F 1.4 is 3 stops, and that the bokeh has some onion ring... These problems on a lens from 13 lenses in 10 groups are inadmissible. For me it would suffice the embarrassing sharpness to F 1.4 not to buy it. It makes no sense to buy a lens with this aperture, and then have to close to f2.8 to make "acceptable" photos. In conclusion is a lens that makes the "Canon rendition" The only reason to be purchased.

Pros: Construction, color rendering, distortion contained, opening

Cons: Vignetting very present but easily retrievable, softness (not excessive) to TA Flare but only in particularly difficult conditions

Opinion: It is a vision that should be used but once you have the hand, you just have to enjoy it all. Excellent color rendition, saturated the right and faithful. The sharpness from F/2 onwards is great while opening up more could be a bit soft. In the city night brings out the best of itself and allows great shots without exaggerating with ISO and exposure times. The weight of many may be "important" but I think it is perfect. I use this lens with a Canon 1DX enjoying an excellent balancing. For the rest I add only that once mounted will be difficult to remove!

Pros: For my excellent use for colors and yield, solid construction from L series.

Cons: Nothing.

Opinion: For a certain type of photo in my bag came the 24-70 L f4 (or 16-35 l F4), the 35 L II and the 70-200 L F4. Now, after evaluating which focal use more, I'm trying with 24 L II, 35 LII and 100 L macro. The 35 is irreplaceable. All the time. Returning to the subject of the review, I find the 24th quite another thing compared to the focal 24 of 24-70 or 16-35, more difficult because it does not allow you to zoom but it forces you to think and move, but much better as yield to 24 of 24-70 and better than 24 of 16-35. The aperture 1.4 makes a good blurry and allows shots with little light without having to turn up the ISO. Rendition of the colors and sharpness are at the top, only a slight (light) drop at full aperture at the edges. Even this is still a purchase to be imputed to the monkeys unleashed by The_misfits...;-)))
