Pros: Quality/price, within everyone's reach, autonomy, lightness, intuitive, quality material

Cons: Poor quality LCD screen, noticeable ISO 800/1600 noise, inaccurate and slow autofocus in some circumstances, not tropicalized, lack of rubber cover

Opinion: So I start from the assumption that I gave 8 and that she lacked little to reach a deserving 9, the reason is mainly and that she was missing just 2/3 cosette (things that were added in the later models 1200d and the 1300d) to be an exceptional entry level cameras that for me would have been essential to have them ... or an excellent LCD screen to view the image in a qualitative way and finally a rubber cover to have a good grip, I do not say that without it has a bad grip since it still has a quality plastic but tendentially after some time that you have the camera in your hand between sweat and fatigue is not really the maximum comfort. There would be unreliable focus for this advice to always shoot several times that you never know, moreover, not being tropicalized I have found problems with dust on the sensor, unfortunately you have to expect to have to clean the sensor every now and then. the positive sides are undoubtedly the autonomy, the battery lasts a lot even after several hours of shooting around the battery remains at its maximum (even for several days) and I did not have to change it since I had bought it back in 2012, for the question of the screen I found a way to connect the camera with the phone through an OTG cable and then I can view, save photos and control the camera directly on your mobile phone using a paid app. the quality of the photos makes more with excellent lenses certainly the classic 18-55 despite being an almost all do flaw on the quality of the lenses and therefore in sharpness, certainly despite being old it is still an excellent camera that thanks to its lightness (and not in size) is easily transportable in a backpack.

Pros: Economic. Great approach to photography. Elementary use. Possibility to install ML Discrete RAW files.

Cons: Deceptive autofocus. No connectivity. P.S. Alas, I think I'm definitely the last to review this machine

Opinion: Here I am reviewing that machine that actually brought me into the world of photography. Purchased in 2013 despite being an entry level has managed to give me a lot of satisfaction. it is true given the times we would find ourselves in the hands of a machine without WI-FI and Bluetooth and a screen without touch functionality, nevertheless once we have learned the basics of photography, this machine can safely accompany you along the path of experimentation, where more complex and advanced machines could confuse you this can fully "explain" you, thanks to its ease of use, the aspects that make up this fabulous world made of exposures, ISO, lenses etc. etc. Watch out for the AF, which as mentioned in the counters I describe as deceptive, in fact, if you rely on it too much you will end up finding shots completely out of focus. Good quality of the jpeg and for such a machine even better RAW quality. Combined with the 18-55 kit and a 50mm f1.8 where on the first I could not clearly have too many expectations on the second, however, I could find excellent photographs. Reiterating however the fact that it is still an entry level and that now it can never be defined even "dated", surely as it happened to me at some point it will begin to go tight. In conclusion, if you are at the beginning, you do not have a high budget and you have few pretensions this is the toy that is right for you

Pros: Reflex within everyone's reach. Not heavy. Built-in flash.

Cons: Autofocus slow. Fixed screen and not great. No wifi.

Opinion: My first serious camera. An entry level machine but able to give a lot of satisfaction to a beginner. I still have it but I use it little because it is now obsolete, although the quality of the photos is still excellent. Some limitations that in 2020 begin to be important are the fact that the screen is fixed, does not have wifi (I solved with Eye-fi,but it is a limited solution), the display is not touch and is mediocre. Few "fantastic" settings are preset. It is still a great learning machine, but I recommend models with some more advanced features and above all the ability to share shots immediately.

Pros: Cost, ease of use, light weight, infinite battery, discrete quality, installable Magic Lantern

Cons: No WIFI/Bluetooth connectivity, looks like a toy, few functions, ISO selectable only for unitary stop, bad noise access to battery and SD card inconvenient, poorly defined display

Opinion: I don't dwell on flaws because they are an entry level. I bought it in 2011 in kit with the 18-55 Mark II IS. He accompanied me on every continent and never left me. It allowed me to "learn" to photograph and especially to experiment: long exposures, startrail, timelapse, Hyperlapse. I think that for what it does the cost is right, also given the simplicity of the menus is practically exploitable in full from the first exits. In spite of a single ring nut combining the keys you are able to vary the three shooting parameters without removing the eye from the viewfinder. Coupled with better optics is able to give good shots, sharp and with pleasant colors. The files are quite workable, obviously you can not do miracles, but as already said we are talking about an entry level machine. It has a 12MP APS-C sensor, which allows you to go about at 800 ISO in addition to which the noise becomes too obvious and ugly and goes to invalidate the sharpness. Despite being switched to more powerful camera bodies I decided to keep it as a second camera body to use for timelapse and a day to teach photography to my son. I think this density is perfect for beginners as it returns small RAW and easily exploitable for social or internet (I do not think that those who want to make prints buy a machine like that). If you find a used at a good price buy it, except for the lack of connectivity with smartphones, has all the cards to compete with the latest Canon models of the same band.

Pros: Perfect for those approaching photography: price, use, lightness

Cons: Noise at average ISO (frequently used), sharpness

Opinion: I have this reflex for more than five years and I have tried it in almost all fields of nature photography, plus something landscape and souvenir photos or travel. It is great for those approaching the world of photography, because the price is very content. After having enlarged, however, remains a bit ' tight: 9 points AF are not many; Already starting from 400 ISO the noise you hear and a long exposure to 100 ISO is like a picture at 1600; The sharpness, even because of the few MP's, is not who knows what. In any case, as entry level is good, or rather it was in his time. Now, if I started, I'd go on a successor model (1300D or 2/4000d) if not even a top-end used.
