sent on December 14, 2023 Pros: Weight, Robustness, Autofocus & Stabilization, Tropicalization Cons: Small loss of sharpness, slightly dark Opinion: I've been using this Tamron for almost a year now, taken used by RCE in perfect condition! I use it combined with a Nikon D7200 for Wildlife photography in the high mountains, outside protected parks and in often difficult areas, I immediately liked the sturdy construction, to the touch it gives safety even in the most critical conditions and the tropicalization allows it to be used even in a light rain or during a snowfall. The ratio between the type of lens and its weight is very good and allows comfort for prolonged use, the bracket for attaching to the tripod is also excellent. The fast autofocus, the good construction and positioning of the selective sliders together with the stabilization, which allows shots in difficult light conditions, allow you to have everything under control in the instant of shooting! At full aperture, f5 at 150mm and especially f6.3 at 600mm, you can find some loss of sharpness, closing the diaphragm at f8, in fact, the recovered sharpness is clearly visible. Unfortunately, as in my case that I can't work at too high ISO (max 2000), due to the fairly small aperture of the aperture, the use of high shutter speeds, to capture for example the leap of an animal, is quite limited and most of the time you can't go below 1/1000 of a second. I recommend the lens for advanced amateur use, it is certainly not up to professional lenses (e.g. Nikon AF-S 400 f2.8 or the new Z-line lenses) but for the passionate nature photographer looking for something robust, efficient and without too high demands it is an excellent compromise, also for the quality-price ratio! |
sent on May 03, 2022 Pros: Tropicalization, weight, price Cons: Soft to TA, sharpness after I 550mm, Opinion: In a nutshell great for quality price If you travel a lot for photo hunting and you want a cheaper optics and also stay lighter is fine. Very Good to make some landscape at 150mm. It is not heavy there are optics much heavier than this 150-600mm. A little soft at full aperture especially at 600mm, closing between F7.1 and F10 is perfect, from F13 upwards it loses quality especially at the edges. Above 550mm it loses in terms of sharpness better not to go up to 600 if you are not really forced. |
sent on March 20, 2022 Pros: Versatility, lightness, attention to construction details, optical quality in favorable conditions. Cons: To improve something you need from 600 to 1500 euros more, so none. It works well on Nikon, worse on Canon. Opinion: Goal that I have owned for more than a year, thanks to which I am learning nature photography. At the moment (March 2022) all the alternatives on the market that offer something more than this lens cost and weigh more. To cite an example, the sigma C is clearly inferior in all to the Tamron G2, while the Sigma Sport, superior in everything, costs on average 700-800 euros more and weighs 2.9 kg, and is therefore another type of lens. The G2 model revolves around the ability to shoot at 600 mm f6.3 with sufficient sharpness, at 600 mm f8 with good sharpness. Optical performance improves when the subject enters the 2.2m - 10m focal range, where performance at maximum focal length becomes good and optimal respectively. In terms of sharpness and photographic look it pays something compared to the Nikon 200-500, but the Tamron is much more versatile, and lends itself better to photography in the open field because 100 mm more is a lot. It lends itself worse to photography of large mammals in the woods, due to the limiting aperture. The autofocus of my specimen has never had an indecision on a static subject while on a dynamic subject it is known that this lens "hooks immediately - follows - leaves - resumes - leaves - resumes ...". A distinctive feature of the Tamron G2 is the attention to detail. We find a collar of the Arca Swiss type (priceless comfort) and beautiful aesthetic details that adorn a decent and tropicalized construction on which honestly I could not find defects given the weight and price of the object in question. Excellent vertical keys that allow an intuitive and convenient setting of settings. Excellent stabilizer, which excels in its task more towards the photo side than towards the video one. I think this lens has earned Tamron a lot because of its versatility. I remember that heavier lenses imply many things, I find it difficult to think of a hand shot with a lens of 3 kg early in the morning, just when the birds are more active. But it's not just the question of "free shooting"... 3 Kg requires higher times even on the Gimbal. I preferred this lens to the others because of the cost and its innate versatility. In several years I will be happy to replace it with the resounding Nikon Z 200-600 (which has yet to come out). |
sent on November 15, 2021 Pros: tropicalization, low weight, affordable cost, excellent maneuverability, support arca swiss Cons: light hood Opinion: Purchased after viewing various and in-depth reviews and opinions on the net, as well as on JuzaPhoto. I had tried at the time the first G1 version lent to me by a friend but it had not thrilled me especially at the maximum focal length and maximum aperture (6.3). This new G2 version, mounted on Nikon Z5 with FTZ amazed me immediately. Excellent yield and sharpness on all focal lengths even at 600 mm. although with a slight loss of sharpness, but negligible compared to the first version. Excellent stabilization with pleasant shots even with times of 1/60, fast MAF. Also tested on my old (but always valid) D90 where the 600 becomes for the crop factor 900mm. Here too excellent results even if the MAF has repeatedly struggled to hook the subject and the use of rapid times is a must. Also purchased the TAP-in Console Tamron to optimize the focus even if I did not need it. For a passionate amateur photographer always sensitive to containing the costs that this passion absorbs greedily is an excellent lens that does not disappoint absolutely, difficult to find zoom of these focal lengths at such low prices. sent on July 09, 2021 Pros: Tropicalized, weight, cost, Versatility, ark swiss plate . Cons: The Hood could have been more important, soft from 550mm onwards. Opinion: Purchased for about 2 years, first combined with a Nikon D7200, where it worked very well without the need for special micro adjustments to the autofocus, from 150mm to 500mm in subjects at the right distance the lens shows itself very sharp, with natural colors and contrast, in the Nikon D500, after an accurate micro fine adjustment of the autofocus, in optimal light conditions it is almost a blade, surprising as it works well from F / 5.0 or 6.3 up, with a micro detail excellent for a zoommone, obvious that if you shoot at 600mm to very distant subjects it becomes soft, especially at the edges, but it is the classic flaw of zooms, I find the image stabilizer excellent, which allows you to shoot with relatively low times , very useful especially for those who practice traveling photo hunting. Arca swiss plate supplied, excellent tropicalization and finishes in general. As almost any third-party lens can suffer from front / back focus, so I find very useful the tap-in console of Tamron, after a bit 'of tests and meticulous controls you can safely set the autofocus to your liking avoiding to send the lens in assistance, so as to avoid further additional costs. Slight chromatic aberration at TA. |
sent on July 09, 2021 Pros: Aesthetics, construction, versatility, price Cons: Sharpness, autofocus Opinion: It looks like a nice lens, it costs relatively little and is done really well, when you open the box you can't wait to graft it on the machine, then it is relatively light. The hood is certainly a bit subdued, very plastic. Once you use it though, the magic vanishes.. inaccurate autofocus, suffers from front / back focus, the sharpness is therefore ridiculous, and then tends to overexposure all the photos, thus sending the light meter of the machine into crisis. In a nutshell after a month of rehearsals, I sent it back and took the sigma 60-600 that I fell in love with. |
sent on July 04, 2021 Pros: Now that I've been working at nikon d 500, I'm starting to figure out how to make the most of it, I'm very pleased. In good light conditions, it has excellent sharpness, quick autofocus and on precision you have to understand how to have it to the various machine bodies. For example, I have regulated the MAF at +2, in fine autofocus adjustment, in fact even in the longest distances, while not demanding miracles, the subject is much sharper. Cons: None in particular, it remains a zomm x4 with obvious brightness limits, and for what it costs (purchased used by RCE Padova) it is all worth them. Opinion: I come from Sigma 50-500 and the qualitative leap is evident in terms of clarity and MAF speed. Then every zoom of this type must be shaped to the machine body with which you use it to make the best of it from all points of view, the weight is right and you can use it even with a free hand, but personally I attach it to a nice monopiede that allows you to frame and shoot in a more relaxed way. sent on June 17, 2021 Pros: Given the price: pro in everything especially in tropicalization and the minimum distance of the MAF (2.2 Mt. is a lot of stuff) then the weight of course Cons: Compared to the brighter optics on certain sensors it loses speed on the MAF especially in low contrast and light scenes, Chromatic aberrations are lurking but in pp they can be corrected Opinion: I don't want to go into so much detail because it suffices to say that I sold the 300 2.8 because it was too short for bird life with the intention of finding one used with a longer focal, when in the meantime I purchased this zoom while remaining appalled by the results especially on sharpness. I read that many find it blurry at the longest focal points but I honestly find it very clear even at 600 mm. Certainly the longer the focal point, the more you have to be careful about vibrations and imbalance, precisely of that physical elongation that it has, criminalizes it very much, especially by hand. I have three cameras: as far as calibration is concerned, I will say that on the D7200 it goes perfectly and even on the Z6 that has no levers and various mirrors there was no need for calibrations. On the D850 calibrated on the eyes of the birds at the zero km hut there was a need for a +7 on the fine adjustment of the menu. Of course he can't stand the comparison of fixed optics like the 600 F4 but if you are professional and turn the world so much by smearing the equipment between deserts and rocky mountains he is not suitable because its structure is delicate. For my use that I pass from one zero km shed to another on the river or the nearby forest enough and advances with the advantage of having a handful of focal points in a single lens and the advantage of focusing already at 2.2 meters (the 600 F4 A 6 Mt). In conclusion, after a year of use I am very satisfied with it and I do not know if I will buy the longer fixed focal point. I still lack freehand testing to test the speed of the AF, so I promise to add the results. |
sent on April 29, 2021 Pros: Price quality nothing to say, autofocus fast and precise, robust and also aesthetically makes its dirty figure Cons: A little heavy not like the sigma but heavy, at 600 mm it loses the detail, but for the price it can stay there. Opinion: Used with canon eos 90d and with crop a-psc I reached over 900 mm, but at maximum focal it loses a little , that is a little bit. Better not to go beyond the 400mm, the autofocus is a razor, it certainly holds up to the canon L series. in summary, it is designed for stakeout photos and not dynamic because the weight is felt and how. I conclude it is a lens for its very very valid range, it is not an L but it also costs the middle of the 100/400, but I would strongly recommend it. |
sent on April 18, 2021 Pros: Built very well,af fast, very good stabilizer, weight, sharpness Cons: Sharpness from 500 to 600 mm not great but still good Opinion: Great supertele from the unbeatable value for money. It weighs the right and is not difficult to use freehand for stray hunting. Excellent construction, tropicalized and well stabilized. Up to 500 mm returns very good files on aps-c. Besides you have to settle, but with the right light and an easel it's fine. Had the previous model on the Nikon D7200 but this is definitely superior both as a construction and as an image quality. Very satisfied, grade 9 |
sent on April 14, 2021 Pros: Weight, size, incredible stabilization, ease of use, foot already prepared for tripod attachment Cons: Sharpening on dense sensors (read below) Opinion: I had this optics for more than 3 years and used it first on the nikon d700 and nikon d7100 and now, for a few months, on the Nikon d810. Fortunately, my specimen had no AF calibration problems. On the d700 it was impeccable and made me have a lot of fun, on the d7100 it had a performance drop approaching 600 millimeters but diaphragm a little bit you could have a good sharpness. On the d810 it actually showed good sharpness but you could see a lack of fine details that didn't drive me crazy. Precisely for this reason, also taking advantage of an opportunity found here on the market, I decided to sell it in favor of sigma 150 - 600 sports: if I had not found this used I would have kept it tight. Considering the weight, size and stabilizer of this lens, I consider it perfect (and probably the best) for wandering photo hunting especially with bodies with not too dense sensors! |
sent on April 09, 2021 Pros: quality, tropicalized, very fast AF, weight, excellent stabilization, fair price, 5 years warranty Cons: microregulation is not very easy, but of course you have to consider the focal point! Colors not excellent, but manageable in PP. Opinion: I was undecided with the Sigma S (and the 100/400 II L) but the difference in weight and price, made me choose the G2. Certainly the quality of the first 2 will be higher but I do not regret it indeed, I am fully satisfied with it, I use it on 70D and they churn out great photos as far as I am concerned. I can (pre-lockdown) do a few hours without excessive arm fatigue. Precise and fast autofocus gives me great satisfaction! |
sent on February 04, 2021 Pros: Metal construction, tropicalized, great AF, Arca Swiss compatible tripod ring, weight, price. Cons: Possible F/B Focus and fire inaccuracy with FTZ adapter Opinion: After a lot of indecision between this, Sigma Sport and Nikon finally decided. The Sigma too heavy, the Nikon not tropicalized and in any case both with a considerable price difference. When I arrived today, I did some testing on both the Z6 II and D800. On Nikon Z6 II I had to adjust the AF because it went into front focus, and also the focus is sometimes inaccurate. I think it's due to the FTZ, although with other Nikon optics I didn't encounter these problems. On the D800, on the other hand, perfect in all respects. Excellent stabilizer, as well as the construction of the lens, all made of metal made in Japan. For now very satisfied. |
sent on August 24, 2019 Pros: Construction, super stabilizer, tropicalization, fine calibration dock, integrated swiss ark attachment, focal range (and maximum focal), lock to any focal, magnification ratio, fast, blurry autofocus, optical yield Cons: color aberration (red-blue), slight sharpness drop from 550 to 600 (especially when used on apsc) Opinion: I write the review after about 1 and a half years of use on canon 7D mark II and 5D mark IV. I start from the cons, both more accentuated on the dense sensors of the apsc: 1) the chromatic aberrations are removed with a click, and decrease by closing the diaphragm, so it is not a big problem. 2) the sharpness drop is quite physiological for all extreme focal zooms, when I had the 7d I often snapped at a maximum of 550mm, which in fact does not change anything as a field angle compared to the maximum focal, while on the 5d this drop is not visible and therefore not m I'm having trouble getting to the limit. These small defects are opposed by many pros, I dwell only on some of the written ones: "the autofocus holds very well the tracking of the subject (it also depends on how the machine is set) and is very fast (in my experience faster than the canon 400 L, of which In my opinion it is also sharper on two specimens tested). The stabilizer allows extreme shooting times for a 600mm (I paying attention and without leaning I managed to shoot at 1/40). The last treat, recently discovered and only on the 5d mark IV, with the canon 2x III is maintained the focus both from the viewfinder and in live view; in addition, the optical yield at 1200mm, even at full opening, is respectable (I published 2 with this pairing, marmots and gruccione), among other things the extender also corrects the chromatic aberrations. I didn't buy the 2x to use it with tamron, but given the quality I can get, in extreme cases I don't have any trouble using it. Let's be clear that the quality does not remain the same, but compared to a 2x digital crop the detail is much higher and keeping the whole file, this will be much more workable! A small comparison with the main competitors that I made before deciding which one to buy: the tamron g1 has a slightly lower cost, but loses many of the pros of the g2 version (af slower, no dock, no tropicalization, lower construction, nothing ark swiss... and the quality over 400mm decays much more consistently than the g2. The contemporary sigma I considered it a middle ground between the g2 and the g1 tamron, in the sense that it has some of the modern features that the g1 tamron does not have, but the optical yield and construction are very similar to the g1, it did not convince me even for the very cold colors it churned out. The sport sigma did not really take it into account because of the weight (1kg plentiful more than the others), it definitely has a superb construction, many features, but the optical quality of the specimen I tried was still lower (and the higher price). These are the considerations that led me to choose the G2 tamron, the fact remains that these zooms are often subject to optical variability from one specimen to another, so I am well aware that my comparison has no absolute value. |
sent on August 24, 2019 Pros: Price in used - AF fast - focal range - weight . Stabilizer - Arca swiss trescan attack. Cons: Difficult to use at 600mm - AF sometimes loses the subject and then hangs it up - soft 450-600mm - very expensive protection filter - Opinion: I replaced my 500mm Canon L first series for this newer zoommone where they say it's a big lens. Bo personally I thought that coming from the 500mm use a focal a longer hair I would not have problems to keep framed the bird but unfortunately it is not my focal I can not.... 4 degrees of field angle are very few. Then there is the question that the static subjects at 600mm are sharp but not very sharp and to me this does not satisfy me , if then the subject is moving then you lose definition ... this happens from the focal 450 to 600mm. if it is used from 150 to 400mm then the sharpness of the cè... To have a decent sharpness at 600mm you have to find the right compromise between shooting times and iso .... if we raise the iso too much we lose sharpness and if we go down too much time we risk the photo being moved (this applies when you want to make a bird in "flight").. difficult to find in certain situations the right compromise....... The value for money is there .... Cè if you need a low cost 600mm focal range. Maybe Better to wait a few more months and take a canon fixed 500mm or the 100-400 version II .... something more professional, they are much more expensive but more defined optics. As for the protection filter a good brand 95mm UV costs 120-150 euros a little caruccio . The weight is ok 2kg you handle well even without easel, the buttons for The focal draft are pen balanced, even the stabilizer does its job well, with 3 variants . |
sent on August 23, 2019 Pros: good optical quality - overall weight still acceptable for those who shoot freehand in slit support and who do not want optics split back - stabilizer present and useful of course as needed - price Cons: af discrete performance (not at the levels of optics usm canon to understand us) but still does overall its duty - possible problems of f---b focus Opinion: So, I write after a year of use basically in sheds and always TO MANO FREE with simple support to the slit to unload the weight. So optics never used on TREPPIEDE ! The machine body on which I shoot is the canon 80d. As soon as the optics arrived I sent it to have it calibrated with the body in a store, because I noticed some problems of f---ing focus. Anyway what to say, the optics is already discreetly sharp at 600mm f 6.3, if you can close a little much better of course. For the rest it always applies the rule to try to expose the best possible during the shooting and to make a simple but well-groomed postproduction. I come from the canon 400 5.6, very light optics, qualitatively superb and also excellent as autofocus performance. Obviously in terms of pure visual quality this g2 tamron is a little below, but believe me it defends itself really well considering the range of excursion. The autofocus on the whole gets quite well, the flaw that you feel a little more is that I see a little difficulty in keeping the subject hooked (the maf tends to detach and then hang up, generating a number of shots not well in focus). This could partly come from the fact that I use freehand optics, so to test the nine you should try the tripod optics to avoid the shaking and "instability" due to freehand use. Personally I'm quite picky, my bird photos have to have a good detail, and if you browse through my galleries I think you can get an idea. As value for money, I find the lens as a whole ! Basically I made the change because I needed the 600mm. On the other hand, using the 400 5.6 and then always cropping a mess does not make sense..... moral of the fairy tale for what is my use I enjoy more now, although at the level of performance af I lost a little compared to before. Anyway The photos get nice even without fixed lens and ff believe me, it's all about having a little handle ! I often see people with "monsters" of optics in their hands, shooting in uncomfortable positions and without a real conspection of what they have in their hands. Learn about your needs and make sensible purchases !!! |
sent on August 21, 2019 Pros: Minimum MAF distance, stabilizer, MAF speed, all focal zoom lock, calibration docks and fw updates Cons: F/B focus, support Opinion: Taken with an opportunity on the market replaced the old version that I have used for 3 years. I was a bit fearful because of certain reviews read, and that's why for a couple of months I kept them both. Squeezed well in various situations, from the stalking to the wandering hunting, it proved superior to the old version in many respects. 1. Sharpness. The old at 400mm became soft, this up to 500 holds up well. 2. MaF speed and accuracy. Compared to the previous series, it holds up the chases better even on uncontested backgrounds. In AI-Servo, it keeps the subject hooked until you follow 3. Reduced minimum MAF distance from 2.7 to 2.2 meters. For some a minor detail, in my opinion half a meter difference is felt. 4. Tripod ring already with Ark cut, comfortable and without needing to add plates. I think it's more stable to mount it like this. 5. Improved and customizable stabilizer via dock, with three options depending on the situation. 6. Zoom the die to the desired focus. Of the old Man I appreciated the possibility (random?) of being able to block at 400mm the distance. Now you can do it at any length. Convenient when shooting remotely, setting the machine as if it were a phototrap without worrying that it might change the framed field. 7. Ability to adjust the af and update the fw autonomously, without resorting to assistance with biblical times. The weight has remained the same for the G2, and unfortunately also the Polyphoto assistance. Basically a great lens for those who do not want to spend too much, and also for those who want to have more versatility sacrificing a bit of sharpness. |
sent on May 18, 2019 Pros: Ease of use freehand, lightness, autofocus speed, stabilization, sharpness, tropicalization, focal range Cons: Diaphragm at 6.3 at maximum focal (but otherwise it would not have been so light), some chromatic aberration at 600 mm Opinion: Despite the many criticisms read on the net I decided to buy the lens considering it perfect for the use that I do. I needed a zoommone for birdlife and wildlife that could be manageable in the shots on the fly, lurking in the cabin, in itinerant hunting. This well built and lightweight lens allows all of this with enviable image quality. The price has dropped a lot lately, so reading the features at the present time is unthinkable to find anything else on the market that can compete. Unbeatable price quality at the moment, functionality above the two closest competitors. |
sent on January 18, 2019 Pros: Lightness, versatility focal range, sharpness up to 500mm to TA, AF speed, very good stabilizer, ARCA Swiss Tripod Collar plate (no adapters needed), soft rings for zoom and MAF, zoom lock at desired focal length, support for Detachable tripod, warranty 4 years. Cons: Soft sharpness at 600mm, stabilizer comes off as soon as it takes off finger from the shutter release, long distance image quality. Opinion: I had for a couple of months this lens on the Nikon D500. Very good lens if used at court distances, it holds well up to about 500mm even at TA, but at 600 the image becomes kneed, in general the ideal is to shoot at fast Times... It has many qualities, such as lightness, especially when used in the mountains and compactness. AF very responsive. The stabilization system Hò found good, in my opinion a flaw lies in the fact that as soon as you remove the finger from the shutter button to focalize the VR goes off accordingly, in other lenses I noticed that it remains active for a few seconds. Another good thing is the support of the tripod that is already shaped "dovetail" (for all called Arca Swiss attack) and does not need an adaptation plate for this type of coupling in the head. In my case it happened that a thread from 1/4 underneath has detached the spring that is inside of it (helicoil) making it useless the hole for the classic plates, fortunately there are two holes... taken by the shopkeeper and replaced the collar immediately. I recommend it for those who are fledgling and not, considering the quality from 150 to 450mm, then unfortunately you lose. Warranty 4 years is great! |
sent on September 30, 2018 Pros: Sharp, handy and AF great Cons: Dust in the lenses and construction not up to par Opinion: Lens to be praised optical side, unfortunately with a other immense problems: infiltrations of dust in the front lens and gums neckline. Defect also recognized by Tamron that in the presence of this fixes in a free way and seals differently (and hopefully better) the last lens. The tires have already unsealed after a really bland use, so much so that to turn the zoom is not possible to do it with one hand, cause lifting of the tire and impossibility to turn. In essence you can not zoom with two fingers rubbing, but you have to grasp the ring of the zoom with the hand set to semi circumference, making the use fast without a tripod almost impossible. In fact with one hand you will have to hold the camera, with the other the lens from the 3 foot attachment, and in theory sliding two fingers should be possible to maintain this position by turning the zoom ring. This does not happen, and therefore we will be forced either to tilt body and lens down, or to do other stunts. In conclusion a very sharp lens with a truly quality AF: therefore side "quality \ \ Price" insurmountable. Unfortunately the construction makes you laugh, both for tires already ruined and for infiltrations of dust. Note as despite being a manufacturing defect, in case the optics are guarantee Europe (and not Asia), Polyphoto does not solve the problem for free, but indeed we are talking about €80 only shipments. Embarrassing behavior, and probably last optical Tamron. It's fine optical quality, but if then the construction and the assistance are not sibling level... |
sent on April 11, 2018 Pros: Immediate response to autofocus, iso, sharpness with versatility Cons: inconvenient attachment for the stand, hard zooming ring Opinion: I am using it for a couple of months on a canon 5 d mark III to photojournalism and sports I find extraordinary. I use it in tandem with a Canon 100-400 mm L series the old "Pasi" that remains much more comfortable but it doesn't keep the automatism with the extender 2 x III. The images are amazing in both if properly calibrated and measured. The Tamron is for use on a tripod to Freehand after some accused the weight. Anyway I was meravilgiato for quality and results. For once, I'm delighted to have "betrayed" Canon that should think about putting on similar focal market at affordable prices. |
sent on February 02, 2018 Pros: Sharpness, weight for freehand shots, price, AF Cons: Like others I found a bit uncomfortable hooking the tripod at the time of zooming ... inezie !!! Opinion: Taken after several research done online and on the forum, I must say that exceeded my expectations, coming from the little brother 70-300, the yield is excellent, "light" when compared to similar lenses, for me who are a lover, even the price speech is not irrelevant! Very fast focusing speeding up again with the distance reducer, combined with an 80d, for me it's great. Recommended!!! |
sent on February 02, 2018 Pros: Sharpness, speed of focus, vibration compensation Cons: Lens hood that sometimes struggles to hook ... so no one Opinion: I bought this lens for about a month and I was full of expectations that have been more than outdated. sent on October 15, 2017 Pros: MAF, Stabilizer, Tropicalization, Sharpness, Colors Cons: Bracket uncomfortable Opinion: The supertele lens is definitely not too heavy for its robust, rugged design, which, with its use, confirms its robustness. The MAF is fast and fairly accurate, rarely mistaken, but this happens to me over 450-500mm free-hand, and I think this is normal given the slight oscillatory motion that may be present during the focus. The stabilizer is effective and reliable even at the maximum focal length, allowing shorter times of 4-5 stops than safety times. Sharpness is already good at TA at the maximum focal distance, and this is good in terms of brightness. The only defect can be the bracket that annoys during the focal shift movement. It should be enough to remove it, but often the use of a monopod or support may be indispensable in using this optic. |
sent on August 08, 2017 Pros: Tropicalization, stabilizer, high performance, price and over-performance. Cons: Af with low light on the d7200 with almost unusable outside points. (But it is not the purpose of this lens to make photos in the interior or near the dark). Besides nothing is the lens of my dreams become reality. Opinion: Wow that slow !!! For me that I love to fill the frame is a manna from heaven. After having been undecided between nikon 200-500 and 80-400 I got to try the Tamron and I felt it was the lens for me. Very generous and good focal excursion to all settings. Stabilizer that has a miraculous photo with 600 mm 1/30 perfect indoor. Af fabulous outside and until dusk then on d7200 begins to lose the external points but with the center even if he occasionally does a bit of hunting, it's fine for static subjects. But this lens does not have the purpose of being used in critical light situations. When light is a lightning strike. As a bonus is tropicalized and is usable by free hand also I am not gymnastics. Astonishingly use on tread, it remains very stable and balanced. Tamron did a great lens and for sure in the next lenses I'll take a look at the version of this house. |
sent on August 06, 2017 Pros: Ergonomics, excellent sharpness, rabbit for free-hand photo, MAF fast. Cons: To date no defect Opinion: Bought recently to replace the sigma 150-500, I noticed from the very first shots a remarkable advantage in terms of performance. The choice matured after a long search on the web. Views, reads the various experiences and trials between the Nikon 200-500, the Sigma 150-600 sport (too heavy!) And this tamron 150-600 g2, in the end I had the most confused ideas of before. So I decided to go to the shop and try them all and then make a decision from a direct experience. To tell the truth I was geared towards nikon but the difference in weight and handicap that stops at 500 instead of 600 and considering that mount on my nikon D700 (the FX format unfortunately is penalized for these optics!), The 100mm make the difference. Seeing then the test photos on the home monitor, and considering factors such as: focal, weight and tropicalization, and also because prices are close enough, the choice is geared towards the Tamron. At the purchase I am very pleased with the choice of this new tamron G2 because I find it very well doneor, solid as construction, excellent stabilization, speed and precision of MAF, good transportability for the traveling photo. Very cunning is the block at all the focal points through the same ring, (has never happened to take the picture up and come down the barrel?) The first shots are very satisfied. Now I just have to try it on the field. |
sent on June 11, 2017 Pros: Price / performance, weight, transportability, 10-poliphoto warranty, stabilizer, maf. Cons: At present nothing Opinion: I have just entered the world of photographic hunting, so my review has no other bases, but I hope to be equally useful. There is an optics with an excellent construction, well cared for in detail. Its focus on the 70d and lightning and rarely mistake l Hooking up even small subjects, sharpness and very good even at TA (6.3) at 600mmrnlo stabilizer and it's great, you can also have excellent results even by free hand and hence to walk around and take photos on the fly without the jarring of the tripod It's a good cosarnUn plus of this optic is tropicalization and no less the 10-year polyphoto warranty and the dock station to calibrate the optic with many parameters (i have not used it yet to do no harm) rn i can say that i'm satisfied As a neophyte, it was what I was looking for, an optician with a high price / quality, and for a neophyte like me in this hunting-photographic world I do not ask for anything else.rnWorking my vote 10 / 10rnrnrn |
sent on May 12, 2017 Pros: Ergonomic, lightweight, MAF fast, satisfying performance at all focal lengths Cons: I did not notice any problem worthy of note Opinion: Usually for avifauna from the station use nikkor 500 f4 VR with duplicators etc., this I bought for photographic shooting hunting and after a few months I use it, I'm very pleased. The colors, the precision and the qualitatively exciting results do not make me regret the nikkor that is qualitatively getting higher, but the weight and the price make me appreciate a lot. |

sent on April 03, 2017 Pros: MAF WEIGHT AND SHARPNESS STABILIZER Cons: I SAY ANYTHING Opinion: I HAD SEVERAL Telezoom, SIGMA SPORT 150-600, 150-600 TAMRON FIRST VERSION AND I HAVE DECIDED TO BUY THIS OBJECTIVE TO HAVE AVAILABLE AN Telezoom LIGHT TO COMBINE TO MY NIKON d500 AND AFTER ONLY ONE DAY OF FIELD TRIAL HAVE BEEN VERY MA VERY SATISFIED . THE MAF E 'ACCURATE AND QUICK WAY, I HAVE RELEASED FOR AN AFTERNOON FULL FREE HAND tirelessly TOO LIKE WHEN OTHER PORT STARORDINARIO Telezoom NIKON VR 200-400mm. FINAL VERDICT VERY SATISFIED. |
sent on April 02, 2017 Pros: Compact, rugged, ergonomic, attention to detail, instant MAF. Still manageable even freehand. Excellent portability and weight balance Cons: Actually no. If desired, the coupling of the lens hood is to be improved in terms of ease of handling and speed Opinion: I was curious to see the differences compared to the previous year. I tested it in December, when it becomes available, and I was impressed by the development achieved. From the solid feel, ergonomics and balance freehand to detail and manufacturing accuracy (only flaw the mounting system of the hood - huge - that requires a lot of patience ...). The focus (presetting the MAF area into three different sets) is instantaneous and always very quiet. The very pleasant blur. The sharpness is noticeable even at maximum focal length, thanks to the excellent stabilizer. I did not detect stray reflections to any opening. After nearly four months of use in the field on a Nikon D750 (with special presets), add the great advantage of the hand-free maneuverability, even at the maximum focal length. |
sent on April 01, 2017 Pros: Weight, price / quality, stabilizer, af Cons: I have not yet found it Opinion: I have owned for three years about the former model by using it on 7D, 70D, 5DIII, 6D and 5D IV. rnEro already sufficiently satisfied in relation to the price. rnQuando I heard the announcement of the new improvements and I got curious. I tried it for a couple of days and soon I was surprised by the improvements that go beyond what I expected. The stabilizer is much more efficient. The speed of 'AF is greatly improved as well as the precision. I also find the nitidezzarna 600 mm greatly improved, but could be a better functioning of the stabilizer effect that eliminates most of micromosso.rnSono was also very impressed by the colors that returns. Really very belli.rnInsomma, a lens that is worth every euro spent if not more. |
sent on February 07, 2017 Pros: portability, af very fast, stabilizing, limiting and blocking of any focal length Cons: to date nothing Opinion: I switched from a Sigma 150-500 this tamron and the difference is really marked. sharpening the focus maximum is really impressive. the fast autofocus allows you to do 10 times click the "good" exceeded its lens I owned previously and that certainly did not shine for speed. given the tropicalization trust also to use it without worries under a light drizzle, when the birds are generally more at low altitude. stabilization seems very effective, perhaps here the old sigma recovered a stop in more, but one quite useless stop when it comes to photographing animals that still are not. portabilissimo almost exactly like the old lens in my possession, I say almost because one thing that I really liked what was in the grip with the shape of the fingers on the pedestal that the socket made safer. the sharpness is good in fact even at full aperture, excellent in f11, well I have not moved, nor do I think I capiter & agravis; often. I also noticed that the recent online price fell, which makes it even more attractive! definitely a good buy for now! |
sent on December 24, 2016 Pros: Portability, construction AF fast and effective stabilization, the possibility of customization Cons: Nothing to declare Opinion: I have a few days for this lens and now I have limited myself to do the shooting tests around the house, and I immediately encountered a problem put fire from 300mm to 500 accommodated with the doc very simple to use .rnHa 600mm I must say that the sharpness is great with a wonderful micro-contrast colors are excellent and exposures costanti.rnIl weight is bearable and is used freehand quietly stabilizer does his duty quietly and effectively, and built very well and there is a good quality design .rnAvevo tried the Sigma sport but the weight has affected him as the nikon 200-500, this is used well by hand libera.rnOra must learn about birds and how you photograph then I think this is good tool. |
sent on November 02, 2016 Pros: Selective focus, image stabilization, detail Cons: To date nothing Opinion: Bought by a week to replace the old model has pleasantly surprised me the speed and accuracy of the MF that can be selected on 3 positions (2,2-10m. / 10m.-inf., Or full) and stabilizer that works flawless. The construction is of good quality, much less plasticky than the old. Improved in detail especially in focal from 150 to 500mm already by the whole opening and up to 16, but also to 600 gives a good sharpness if closes to silent 8.rnMolto. Tamron has made another very good lens at an affordable price. |
