voigtlander_vm21_f1-8Voigtlander VM 21mm f/1.8 Ultron

Pros: very sharp lens, compact but bright, despite the focal distortions are ridottissime.Il diaphragm blades 10 allows you to turn any source of light in a star already from very large apertures. Product for Leica M, goes to confront optical excellence, where standards are quite high. rn

Cons: I detect a hint of CA, but in Lightroom are all possible corrections. Manual focus if it can be considered an 'against', but are about to leave the Techart rings which turn into auto focus (will see) rn

Opinion: I found using the zoom, which much more often this use than the classic focal 24.Ho therefore decided to accompany the Sony A7r2 21 with this compact and bright. Not many lenses of this focal length at that brightness, so compact. Unlike other Voitglander for Leica M this is a modern lens, the problems of the proximity of the rear lens to the sensor are resolved. I found a test that compared it to the Leica Summilux and clearly wide open at the edges were not comparable, but stopping down as the diminishing differences .... (we are talking about a target to 6500 euro) .rnIo are satisfied, very crisp, distortion almost absent (!) works well already at full aperture, and for what it's worth on a 21 also has a nice boken.rnUtilizzo convenient adapter ring Voitglander (125g) which allows to decrease the minimum focusing distance fire, from the nominal 00:50 the door at about 0:20. rnHo noticed using it with CA A7II some problem with A7rii I have not seen this problem, yet easy to work outible for the post, Lightroom provides fixes for all the work and Voitglander bene.rnrnÈ finally arrived the Techart Pro ring, now all my Voitglander manual have become autofocus, including this beautiful 21mm luminoso.rnL'anello requires the initial procedure for recognizing the focal length, in practice must be set on the machine a diaphragm that is coupled to the focal length, this also allows the off the initial stabilization. Unfortunately, we must fully open the iris on the Sony and close it as optics hand to get a correct exposure otherwise the Sony overexpose, but this involves only the wrong metadata, no operational problem. Operation is also good hooks quickly in difficult conditions, sometimes breaks down in extremely contrasting light conditions. Appearance a connecting ring to use all my lenses vintage with several attacks by Leica M, at which point they will all, wanting autofocus! Rn

voigtlander_vm35_f1-7Voigtlander VM 35mm f/1.7 Ultron

Pros: A very sharp lens, small light but bright, the 10-bladed diaphragm allows you to turn any light source into a star already starting from very open diaphragms. Produced for demanding Leica users, it is proposed with quite high standards.

Cons: Manual focus? If you can consider it a 'con', but are going to come out the Techart rings that turn it into autofocus (we'll see). He's suffering from field warp.

Opinion: Having the need to use on my Sony A7r2, a lightweight but bright 35, I opted for this gorgeous little gem. I own a wonderful 35 Art that by weight and footprint, completely frustrates the use of an ML.... Unlike other Voitglanders for Leica M this is a modern lens, the problems of the proximity of the rear lens to the sensor are less relevant, and with the sensor of the A72r are resolved, it suffers from a certain curvature of the field, when it focuses at full opening you have to be careful where you place the subject is sealing on that, if you focus in the center and then recompose you risk to go wrong. In my humble opinion it has a very good bokeh and a decent three-dimensional effect. I use a comfortable Voitglander adapter ring (125g) that allows you to decrease the minimum focus distance, from the nominal 0.50 the door to about 0.20. Recently I also use it in autofocus with the Techart Pro ring and it works great. I tried to compare it also with the legendary Voitglander Nocton 35 1.2 but then I preferred this for the well-known reasons of weight and footprint, as well as a better yield to t.a.

sony_a7r_iiSony A7r II

Pros: Sensor quality, dynamic range, stabilized sensor, ability to use any perspective, even APSC with crop Room (19 mp in APSC) focusing precision manual AF with lenses Canon almost as fast as that of a 5D MKIII.

Cons: AF remarkable for a mirrorless but not up to that of an SLR. I always have to bring at least two spare batteries!

Opinion: I joined the outfit Canon FF initially with A7 to use my Pentax M lenses of 40 years ago. The first thing that struck me is the quality and workability of the files that I obtained. With a Commlite adapter (80 € approx) I began to also use my Canon lenses, but with poor results, in fact I used to focus using manual and auto. I replaced with a A7II that more stabilized sensor and better ergonomics, but still the AF with Canon lenses was very slow, so I decided to change it with the current A7RII. That is, a different sensor even more powerful! I tried to push myself up to ISO 12800 by freehand-night and some positive evidence to 25600 ISO, up to these levels it seems to me that if the cables as if not better than A7s (another cliché debunked, but who says that increasing the megapixel decreases sensitivity!). Finally an AF that works with the latest Canon optics (not all ...). Using a pair of optical Sony / Zeiss, 55 f1.8 (great !!) and a 28 f2.0 (cheap but good quality, highly recommended) plus some fixed bright Voitglander with Leica M attack and a series of optical vintage that give me the satisfactions. They are waiting for the new Techart adapter ring that should make it possible to focus when focus automatically with Leica M lenses and attack with my old Pentax. Used to the Canon menu initially I had a little difficulty in setting the A7RII, but after some time of use, there are no more secrets. Coming from SLR with a powerful autofocus as the 6D or 5D MKIII (do not know the Nikon world, but I think it's the same thing) these mirrorless initially leave you blown away, do hard work to keep up with the development backlit fire or subjects with little contrast, then when by dint of focus in manual understand the logic of 'AF can decrease the percentage of error. I want to emphasize once again the quality of this sensor, which for me has solved me a few annoying problem I had with the C sensorsanon, and not just the opening of the shadows, but the remarkable workability of the raw files. A tip that I can give to those who want to disrupt their dowries reflex because too heavy, this room only weighs about a pound less than a 6D so if you continue to use the optical zoom does not lightens anything! If instead one considers the possibility of using the luminous fixed (eg with optical attack leica M and optical vintage) then the saving in terms of weight and dimensions it becomes remarkable.
