Samyang AF 135mm f/1.8 FE Pros: Sharpness, blurry, cost. Cons: AF and chromatic shift towards yellowish. Opinion: Taken by a couple of weeks. I waited to try it before writing this mini review without being conditioned by the euphoria of the novelty and the beauty of the first shots. Let's start with the external appearance. It is very solid, a bit squat given the size of the front lens, nice tactile sensation and generously sized hood and very precise attachment. Beautiful at the knurled ring of focus. I would call it quite elegant. The aperture ring and the AF/MF selector key are missing, but given the cost there would have been no hope for the opposite. Customizable button (I did not understand if from there you can enter the AF / MF, I have to inform myself). Two keys M1 and M2 (even here I did not understand the functions well). There is a selector for the excursion of the AF during the focusing. The AF a bit 'slow and uncertain, of the photos taken at the concert most of them were blurred but having a Sony A7RII I do not know how much you can charge to the lens. Blurred by scream. Excellent sharpness even at TA. If you do not want to spend so much on the Sony 135/1.8 the Samyang is the must have. I recommend it without reservation. sent on July 27, 2022 |
Sigma 35mm f/1.4 DG DN Art Pros: Construction, sharpness, bokeh, decliccabile diaphragm ring, customization button. Cons: AF, weight and bulk. Opinion: I gave 9 as an overall rating but in the cost/performance ratio I would have given 10 laude. I start from the aspects that least convinced me. The AF is a bit uncertain but for a static photograph it's fine. And anyway even the camera could have its concurrence of guilt being a Sony A7RII whose AF is certainly not a lightning bolt of war. Lens that with the hood engaged becomes a bit bulky and the weight that is felt but having an f/1.4 aperture could certainly not be a feather. Being an ART the construction is impeccable, in the hand you have the feeling of solidity. Excellent diaphragm ring decliccabile for those who need to make videos. Very appreciable the lock button of the hood. Very good, even at the corners, the sharpness at TA that improves a lot by just closing the diaphragm. As for the blurry reminded me a lot of the Canon 35 L first version but with less aberrations. Perhaps it does not have the poetic rendering of the Zeiss Distagon but, all in all, the blurred is very enjoyable. I've had it for a week and for now it's welded to the camera. For lovers of the focal definitely a lens to have. sent on June 29, 2022 |
7Artisans M50mm f/1.1 Pros: Colors, blurry, aesthetically beautiful (at least the silver version), fluid but not excessive focus ring. Cons: Very poor edges and lack of hood. Opinion: I use it with adapter on Sony 7RII almost exclusively to TA. I was immediately struck by the spectacular rendering of the blurred and the colors and a very captivating rendering of three-dimensionality. I don't want to blaspheme but it reminds me a lot of my summicron 50mm. On the other hand, used at f/8-11, it continued to show a poor sharpness at the edges that advise against its use in those genres where it is necessary to desire it from edge to edge. This lens is used for other purposes. The lack of the hood is a significant flaw, they could put it in the package, the cost would not have changed much. I would say that for what it costs it is a lens to have absolutely, maybe not for those who have a Leica kit, which will surely have a summilux or a summicron, but for those like me who have a sony and want to experience the thrill of shooting at f / 1.1. sent on January 02, 2022 |
