![]() | Nikon AF-S 70-200mm f/2.8E FL ED VR Pros: Rapidity and precision AF, sharpness, build quality, VR efficacy, Luminosity. Cons: Not having bought it before! Opinion: I wanted at all costs a 70-200 f/2.8 in my kit, but I always thought it was not worth spending the sums necessary to purchase goals of this type, original Nikon. I tried many third party lenses, even versions with AF that can be calibrated with the appropriate console, but the end result never fully suited me: in many cases the main cause of my "frustrations" was the automatic maf, often inaccurate and unreliable. Then I decided to buy this lens: I had done it before!!! The sharpness is to say the least superb, for a zoom, at any focal distance and already at maximum aperture, a razor sharp that cesella the most microscopic details of captured images, even at the edges of the frame! The automatic MAF leaves literally open-mouthed: there is no suitable adjective to describe rapidity and precision, also because the term "fulmineo" has been heavily abused over the years and may not adequately make the idea of how ephemeral it is, imperceptible, the moment that elapses between the press of the AF button and the double beep of acquisition of the Subject. The result of cooking immediacy is even more surprising: even with LF of 200mm and ad f/2.8, it splits the hair at any distance, without the presence of the slightest front/back focus. But there is a little hint of focus breathing. The Anti vibration system VR is very quiet (apart from a light initial "clac") and suitable for the excellence of the lens: with a minimum of attention I managed to shoot at 1/25, with 200 mm LF and at a distance of about 2 meters, without any hint of blur. The hood is secured by a snap System. The perceived quality is really high, as well as the regularity and fluidness of movement of the two rings. I have yet to test it well, but the initial sensation is so fulfilling that, since this morning, I continued to shoot relentlessly, right into the house! I regret not having bought it before! sent on October 10, 2018 |
![]() | Tamron 24-70mm f/2.8 Di VC USD G2 Pros: Construction, sharpness, stabilization, solidity, snap Lens hood, luminosity, quality/price ratio, aesthetics. Cons: F/B Focus present on three specimens, then autofocus to calibrate with the expensive TAP-In console. Opinion: I purchased this lens on Amazon in April this year, to use it as a handyman lens on a Nikon D850. The first specimen arrived with major F/B focus problems (wrote correctly Andre-90): On the 70 mm of LF at one meter away was present Front focus not completely solvable even by setting + 20 in the adjustments in the room, while at other focal It was even present Back focus, making it impossible to find a compromise with the only available calibration. I sent back the lens and I got a second, still with problems of Front focus at 70 mm of LF to one meter and over and back focus to other LF, but less accentuated. Attracted by the positive characteristics of the lens I decided to keep it anyway and to buy the Tap-In console. After a few hours of adjustments I got a good compromise and I must say that, with the MAF in place, the lens is wonderfully resolvent practically all the LF, giving the best of itself from F/4 onwards. The highly efficient stabilizer allows you to shoot with times otherwise unthinkable and to make video footage without flickii. The fluidness of the zoom and MAF ring nuts is excellent. Intelligent the hood with automatic locking system and button release. The finish of the lens is beautiful and the weight is, yes, relevant but still lower than the 24-70 Nikon and Sigma, as well as the size. In early September, after 2,000/3,000 shots, the automatic MAF went crazy: pressing the MAF button of the machine, the lens hooked the focus, was emitted the classic beep and lit the green indicator corresponding to the point of MAF, but then, instead of Stopping, the lens continued to focus, moving away or approaching the point of MAF compared to the required and completely blur the image. The lens has been replaced for the second time and also the new Front/Back focus, depending on the LF and the distances, more important than the second lens but less than the first. For correction with TAP-In console I had to set + 20 to 70mm/1m (adding + 4 In the room) and a-7 to 50mm/infinity, but in the end you get a pretty reliable and accurate MAF. Rating:-sharpness (with AF in Live View, or, after calibration AF with console): 10-MAF (before calibration would merit 3, but the problem of Front or Back focus is now present on many third party lenses and fortunately you can solve, in the last Versions, with accurate calibration on different points, via the appropriate console) after calibration: 8.5-Reliability: 8 (I have other Tamron lenses that have never let me down, so I want to consider myself particularly unfortunate in being stumbled across a single Defective specimen)-Warranty (minimum, 5 years Europe, otherwise 10 years Polyphoto): 10-quality materials: 10-Price: 10-Stabilizer: 10 Overall Rating: 9.5 sent on October 02, 2018 |
