![]() | Sony A7 III Pros: Sensor quality, raws, endless retrievals on shadows, convenience and speed Cons: suffers darn hot pixels even for photos of 15-20 seconds of exposure, no screen totally basculable and not very sharp, missing the charger Opinion: After over a year of use I can say that it is really a great machine. I came from Canon 6D mark II but after a while it started to sit a little tight because of the poor workability of the files especially on the recovery of shadows. I made this leap into the dark thinking about it over a month, but the feeling was immediate, never misses a shot, burst and autofocus top. Like all things also has some defects of which in my opinion very serious, namely the presence of hot pixels raising ISO due to overheating probably due to bad cooling, which has been solved for example on the A7rIV. The screen has a low resolution and the live view has mostly in low light grain of very big noise, but in the end then you churn out the perfect file and so do not give us weight. If with the arrival of the A7IV they improved the cooling and quality of the viewfinder and screen and who knows, maybe even get to 30mpx would be fantastic. I have always been a canonist, but in the end I am very satisfied and I would never go back, because especially in landscape photos the dynamic range that Sony offers is scary. I wait for the 7IV curious to see if they will have improved the defects (given what it costs to buy it) sent on April 02, 2020 |
![]() | Canon 6D Mark II Pros: Ergonomics, ISO, raw information rich, very precise and fast af, touch screen and swiveling Cons: Second slot for CF Opinion: A significant step forward compared to the previous model, there are 2 bubbles on both the axes and not only on the horizon. Raw files are much richer in information and weigh at least 30mb against 20 of the previous one. As a former owner of the 6D I can say that this camera is really exceptional and should not be mistreated by everyone everywhere, you must first try it. Personally I was fixed with the 5d4 and after having tried it I understood that for my needs it's really a whole make the 6D2 and you find yourself in your pocket over 1600 € more. Autofocus is precise, fast and reliable, while that of the old 6D was comparable to that of an entry level. It's as if Canon had decided to create a new professional camera for all purposes. The adjustable screen is very useful especially in macro and when you are in uncomfortable positions or you do not have too much desire to bend on the tripod. In short, for those who are undecided I highly recommend to try it before talking, would remain wide open. I'm almost certain that I would never sell it, the afI would only join a 5DSR in the future because I always had the worry of having so many mpx and could live together, in the end for high ISO the 6D2 remains unsurpassed. I'm really satisfied, I really made a nice Christmas present sent on December 24, 2017 |
