![]() | Nikon AF-S Nikkor 200-500mm f/5.6 E ED VR Pros: Price, sharp, robust, anti-atomic stabilizer. Cons: Zoom ring excursion, AF. Opinion: Being my first and only supertele I can not pronounce on comparisons with others. But I appreciate this as sharpness, silence and robustness. The AF does its dirty work but sometimes it gets lost not finding the right way. The excursion of the zoom ring requires more "turns" to go from 200 to 500 and vice versa and, in case of photographic hunting, you have to settle for the times that the action requires. The stabilizer is scary, almost like that of the TAMRON SP 70-300 but much quieter. For the price of the new, the image quality is unparalleled. I used it for the first time in the swamp cabin, diaphragm between 7 and 9 and I must say that the images came wonderfully sharp. I'm an amateur and that's fine with me. sent on May 02, 2022 |
