![]() | Panasonic S9 Pros: Size and weight - Nice and usable LUTs - Solid AF - Open gate and other gadgets for videographers - Wide customization of the menu Cons: Absences: viewfinder, electronic shutter, tropicalization, double slot - L-mount lenses that send portability to the cellar (excluding Sigma C) - global rendering of the file not "wow" - plasticity at the highest levels Opinion: *disclaimer: opinion purely aimed at considering this S9 as a travel camera* Purchased at the beginning of summer thinking it would have been the definitive travel machine, instead... I outlined pros and cons above: in general, the feeling that this S9 gave me is that of a project that was not fully developed (who knows, maybe with a future mark II they will bring out what this should already have been). The famous absences impact some more than others: viewfinder and tropicalization much more than electronic shutter and double slot, for my needs. A big Achilles heel for a type of camera like this is the lens park: lenses that are too large on such a skimpy body (apart from Sigma's valid Contemporary). Video sector (they say) at the top, like all Panasonics; but I photograph, so it didn't affect me much. Considering the amount requested (paid, discounted, 1250 euros with the 20-60mm), I would say final grade 6.5: recommended as long as you fall precisely within the most suitable case of use for this product (and with specific lenses: dream of a 24-105 but also very bright fixed lenses) sent on December 02, 2025 |
