om_system_12-40_f2-8pro_ii OM System M.Zuiko 12-40mm f/2.8 PRO II

Pros: Sharpness, construction, ridiculous price if used.

Cons: Poor resistance to flare/ghost in backlight

Opinion: With favorable light it is an amazing optics, for construction and sharpness. The big problem is flares and ghosts that are produced backlight, typical of optics from 10-15 years ago. I then detect a pronounced contrast, which in situations of hard light, is even more perceptible ("closed" shadows). I much prefer less contrasted optics, such as the Panaleica. In short, de gustibus...

om_system_om5 OM System OM-5

Pros: Ergonomics with small lenses, weather sealed, fun to use

Cons: Weak end cap, microusb port, AF not very modern, expensive if taken without offers

Opinion: Taken to compose a very light kit for fun / travel, it amazed me for the user experience with lenses such as 15mm 1.7, 45mm 1.8, 12-45 f4 pro or 40-150 f4-5.6. I put everything in an inexpensive and light fanny pack, and I can tackle any non-work environment. I would like to specify that the AF (AF-S, AF-C, Tracking), although largely sufficient for normal use, is not suitable for specific professional areas such as sports and more. I solved the problem of the microusb by buying an external usb-c charger, while to avoid damage to the unreinforced caseback, I avoid using it on the shoulder strap with peak design plate or with long lenses on tripods (without relative collar). As much as these compromises are, it's my favorite camera, which already produces files with a nice look. I add something that is not talked about much: using it with an electronic shutter it does not have obvious rolling shutter or excessive banding like other cameras, perfect for when you don't want to hear the shutter noise.

sony_fe28-60 Sony FE 28-60mm f/4-5.6

Pros: Optical quality, size and weight, bundled price with the A7C, quiet and fast AF. Easy balance on cheap gimbals. Blurry and detachment of the floors at 60mm pleasant.

Cons: Absence of light shield attachment, cost, front lens that needs a filter, because flush with the barrel.

Opinion: The objective in question is really a breath of fresh air: crisp, fast and quiet, compact and light. Perfect for amateur, or travel use. Outdoors or in controlled situations it is possible to use it in the professional field, even on video, because it is extremely easy to balance it on a gimbal. Lately I have been using it instead of my fixed 1.8 and 2, outdoors, because blurry is not always more important than the convenience of a zoom. And regardless the blurry and the detachment of the floors at 60mm is still pleasant, despite being at 5.6

sony_a7c Sony A7C

Pros: Improved AF, improved colors, clutter and weights. Usual excellent sensor.

Cons: Some keyboard shortcuts removed, joystick removed, price high, semi-mechanical shutter max at 1/4000, small viewfinder, flash sync at only 1/160.

Opinion: The machine is very good, even if the removal of the keyboard shortcuts compared to the A7 III makes my nose twist. Some things remained the same (menus, videos), others improved: AF with better tracking, improved color science. Weights and dimensions are even smaller, great for photo amateurs, but also for professionals who use lightweight gimbals for videos. In short, I think it is a very good compromise, but at too high a price at the moment. A7III is preferable for all-around use, in my opinion.

canon_17-40 Canon EF 17-40mm f/4.0 L USM

Pros: Relatively inexpensive, build quality L, excellent at closed diaphragms, light and compact, 77 filters

Cons: At TA does not scream at the miracle, less than the 16-35 F4 is

Opinion: On FF Canon is the only economic objective ultra suitable a little ' to everything: interiors, landscapes, etc... Among other things its cost on the used is slightly lowering. I recommend it because it is good quality optical and constructive, and while not equaling the modern character of the 16-35 F4 IS (which I took in its place), I have good memory. Obviously it gives the best of itself to at F8, as written everywhere.
