| | Canon FD 135mm f/3.5 S.C. (II) Pros: Price, weight, user experience, built-in lampshade, focus fluidity Cons: Construction quality not up to other vintage lenses Opinion: I recently purchased the New FD version of this lens (not on the list of goals) for 50.00 euros on Ebay. I was undecided about buying for the lack of autofocus, but the focus dial is fluid, has the right strength and manual focus is sufficiently easy (with a bit of practice) and precise. In field use I did not notice large vignettes even at full opening, where the sharpness is already enough even in the corners; improves by closing by one or two stops. I think this lens is an interesting option for landscape use, good quality, small and light, to keep in the backpack because "you never know". sent on January 05, 2020 |
