Pros: Weight, cost, vintage (the charm of)

Cons: Manual, vintage (the disadvantages of a dated focal point)

Opinion: It is a focal point that I have fallen in love with since its purchase, back in 1983, and when I finally switched to digital the first purchase was an adapter to be able to return to use this gem. 135mm is the length congenial to me but the size and practicality of this lens means that every time I want to be light for a photographic sortie it is the focal point that I first put on the bag. Usage tips: between f3.5 and f5.6 you can take advantage of the (albeit minimal) vignetting; from f5.6 to f11 is where the maximum sharpness is obtained; after f11 I take advantage of the progressive softness (due to diffraction)

Pros: Price, weight, user experience, built-in lampshade, focus fluidity

Cons: Construction quality not up to other vintage lenses

Opinion: I recently purchased the New FD version of this lens (not on the list of goals) for 50.00 euros on Ebay. I was undecided about buying for the lack of autofocus, but the focus dial is fluid, has the right strength and manual focus is sufficiently easy (with a bit of practice) and precise. In field use I did not notice large vignettes even at full opening, where the sharpness is already enough even in the corners; improves by closing by one or two stops. I think this lens is an interesting option for landscape use, good quality, small and light, to keep in the backpack because "you never know".
