Pros: Versatile, stabilized, sharp

Cons: it has none

Opinion: Excellent for travel documentation, very valid for all focal lengths on D3; probably increasing the resolution will bring out the limits. As for the brightness, the most modern sensors allow you to increase the iso, but they have more resolution, so the 13 mpx allow you to maintain sharpness and with the device mentioned above you can increase the iso also pushing to values that produce a beautiful fine grain that I like. You can have fun with portraiture without being too intrusive. It is stabilized, all in all not bulky, has the practical block at the minimum focal length when walking and the generous hood limits accidental damage.

nikon_d3Nikon D3

Pros: Excellent sensor, easy to use.

Cons: Display Area selector on the pentaprism.

Opinion: I also made a similar choice, I got "freed" of a newer APS-C machine; It was complex, with unnecessary effects and I never found the taste setting. Also, 24 MP on a reduced sensor for long exposures are excessive. The D3 is simple to use, 12 MP's are more than enough, the main functions are comfortable on the back of the appliance and not boxed in to some sub-menus. Choice aimed at a landscaped and armed use with a 28mm 1.8 G, it returns sharp images. I was looking for a solid, robust and with good autonomy. Often you read if it still makes sense in 2019 a D3? Put aside the mental health, it has not stopped being a great product. Give up a newer appliance for a D3? If you found the right tool for you yes. I personally had hastily yielded a D90 for a D7100. I didn't sleep at night; I took home a D300. But that's another story.
