panasonic_ts7Panasonic Lumix TS7 / FT7

Pros: Robustness, immediacy of use, resolution, good optical quality, EVF viewfinder (Small but, useful). With buoma light excellent images

Cons: Nothing to report, perhaps the lack of RAW, must be considered and used for what it is: a compact with its small sensor. The only limit found is the impossibility of set automatisms to priority.

Opinion: Purchased to be used as a notebook. To carry with you always, ready for any eventuality. Good focus capacity in general. From a first test, for action photos, better to use the 4K photo feature. Also interesting is the focus stacking function that, combining the machine with a small three-foot pocket, allows, together with the good depth of field due to the small sensor, to obtain images with macro detail or, unlike with extreme wide-angle hyperfocal. In short, if reasoned in use, she becomes the companion of some more playful aspects in photography. I conclude by pointing out the practical video solution (Full HD) in slow motion (120 fps). I am not interested in the video that is still possible at 4K at 30 fps. I only did a short test with vision on 4k monitors. I believe, and I have no competence in this matter, that it can satisfy for amateur use. I speak naturally as a photoadamer.

sony_rx10ivSony RX10 Mark IV

Pros: Portability, extraordinary focus, good optical quality and impressive burst already at 12 FpM

Cons: Nothing special about category

Opinion: Bought just out. The use for photo hunting and travel (Pre COVID), has replaced a Sony kit (Alpha 68 + Sigma 17-70 + Sigma 105 macro + Sigma 120-400) to make up for the weight problems related to my age and health. I'm excited about the focus, I've never tried a Sony A9 but I think when they say that the RX10 uses the usual algorithms it matches the truth. I refer to a page of my site for the images I made at the "Parco della Piana", a LIPU area near Florence. The shooting point was less than four meters from the subjects. In continuous autofocus, wide area, with active animal eye detection these activated perfectly in most cases. (http://www.vitocardillo.it/slide-fauna-8) The images are not perfectly optimizing for the WEB this invalidates the dynamic and tonal range and consequently the general yield. The majority were executed at 500/600 mm with times between 1/1000 and 2/1000 F4-8. Of course my judgment refers to the category of the product that, cannot and should not be compared with larger sensors (APS-C, etc.)
