![]() | Olympus M.Zuiko Digital 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 II R Pros: compactness, lightness, AF Cons: Everything else Opinion: I have been using this lens on my Olympus om-d E-m10II for as long as I can remember. In addition to having had problems already reported by other users (it freezes over 24mm reporting error) the lens is really poor and does not allow you to take advantage of the camera, which I love. If you shoot a landscape for example, the leaves of the trees are never sharp and sometimes a total "confusion" comes out, even when you close the aperture. The photo it returns has nothing "natural", starting from the sharpness that seems almost artificial, up to the colors. I have a small adapter for m-42 lenses and with an old cheap Takumar in my opinion the image quality is superior. It's a good lens to start with, but it seems to me an exaggerated brake on the camera's potential sent on March 19, 2025 |
![]() | Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8 L USM II Pros: Clarity, focus, ease of handling. Cons: price. Opinion: I used it on a 5D Mark II and I have to say I do not miss a beat. I have not tried the predecessor and therefore does not express myself, but I tried a 24-105 f4 and you see the difference .. of course, also in the price! I have not suffered from the lack of stabilization because frankly I use it very little (much bother me though in fact it is useful). Rnih past I have to say that I have also used Nikon lenses, Pentax, Zenit, Vivitar, Sigma, Soligor, Tamron, Leica. I believe that the Canon could and should (given the excellent camera which offers) do more at these prices .. plus if the price is high the problem is probably also due to the fact that the Italian market is "still" than others. (Where price-bargain). sent on April 04, 2014 |
