![]() | Irix 150mm f/2.8 Macro Pros: Sharpness Cons: Ring nut collects dust and pollen Opinion: I am extremely satisfied with this lens, I have owned it for three years now, it offers sharpness and subtle details that are not indifferent. The construction is sturdy and elegant. The focus ring is excellent, precise and perfectly frictioned. The support ring is very practical. I have had in the past: the Canon 100/2.8 macro usm, the Sigma macro 180/3.5, the Kiron 100/2.8. Only the latter comes close to the Irix150/2.8, the others he eats quietly. I recently paired it with R6mark2, and here I had the unpleasant surprise that the system went haywire. I had it updated with firmware dedicated to official assistance in Poland, and it came back perfect in nine days paying only the shipping costs. Congratulations to Irix! sent on August 04, 2025 |
![]() | Kiron 105mm f/2.8 macro Pros: Mechanical and optical construction Cons: Lacks autofocus for on-the-fly photos Opinion: I've had it for 5 years, for the Kiron I sold the excellent sigma 180/3.5 because it couldn't stand the comparison on sharpness. The latter is extreme at focal up to F13 then becomes normal ie good as other macros. Used on reflex canon is a pain because with the adapter without lens you lose infinity, while with mirroles (I have an R) it becomes all easier. I built the tripod ring, and I can't give up the comfort of it anymore. The focus with the dial is a unique enjoyment for accuracy; on the image enlarged to 10X you can see those details that other more expensive optics you dream of. Of course there are more emblazoned macro optics of which the photographers on duty fill their mouths, but the tests, in my opinion, are done on the livery of known butterflies, not on the "tulips". Used as an average canvas, from good results in the average of other average dated canvases. While used in the specific field... There's none for anyone. I thank Guz and Mgnax for recommending me well. sent on April 01, 2020 |
![]() | Tamron 28-75mm F/2.8 XR Di LD Pros: nondescript Cons: nondescript Opinion: I purchased the lens last year on it right away (used) by a Sicilian gentleman who then would not feel right to cancel the sale. The lens is the result of incompatible canon: 5d2, 6d, 30d, 40d, that is grafted perfectly but by mistake and it clicks (dry contacts). It works instead of 600d and 1000d. Brought in assistance through RCE (kind and helpful) I was made an estimate of more than 200 Euros, so I decided to let it go greet gandy sent on March 30, 2016 |
