![]() | Zeiss Batis 18mm f/2.8 Pros: very light, excellent photo rendering Cons: slight diffraction to very closed diaphragms, a hair of distortion, nothing excessive anyway. It's completely smooth, so rotating it to hook it to the bayonet takes practice Opinion: Beautiful and very light lens. It's always in my bag, it's a pleasure to use this optics, even if 18mm I'm not really a handyman. Taken used at 1000 euros, I think whoever sold it to me took another one after rethinking... Used on A7III is a bomb, but on the A7rIII from the maximum. It has a very engraved rendering, especially, I recognize on the fly the photos taken with the Batis. I also tried the new Tamron wide-angle zoom, great, but not comparable to the small Batis. I recommend it without hesitation. sent on December 22, 2019 |
![]() | Sony A7 III Pros: Autofocus great, many and infinite possibilities of adjustment, image quality, high iso hold, favorable price quality ratio. Cons: i don't like evf, the dedicated optics are more expensive than the reflex analoges, Opinion: It's the infinite camera. in the sense that every time I use it I always discover something new, something that helps me and that surprises me! The menu is very complete, I left it in English and I feel great. the body fits perfectly to those who have medium or small hands, personally I had only the difficulty in getting used to removing and putting the optics, the lock keys to dx of the vent and a certain hardness in rotating the lens (at least compared to canon) forced me to study a series of gestures to which I was not accustomed. The yield of this sensor is amazing, its 24 mp is enough and they advance for those like me who do not make gigantographies... I do very few crop and I'm not interested in viewing photos at 200% to see if the pixels are in their place... The prints that come out of it are divine, there is not really the panzana of colors. I always had Canon, and the best of them is the 1Ds MkIII. With this Sony (and of course the right color profile) I can get a photo printed almost indistinguishable from those made with Canon... but with the undeniable advantage of having many iso and a futuristic autofocus. I'm a little stressed about the evf crosshairs, I don't like it. If I have to take a picture quickly I have to tap a button to "wake up" the camera... I know that in the more expensive models is better, even the One of the Eos R is better (I owned one) but in the end I made the jump... I sold almost everything and switched to Sony. With a good dose of calm and a good dose of time to look for good opportunities, in the used you will find everything. The price to make a set comes at an important cost. I'm sorry I left Canon, when I see a lens with the red line I still think back to the ones I had... but the technology goes this way, Canikon have lost the train... who knows if they will be able to mend the accumulated disadvantage. Edit 05/01/2020. After also bought an A7RIII, I joined it with the A7III. Finally I sold the A7RIII. I made several prints in A3 format, and at this size it was not possible to distinguish with which camera the photos had been taken. Obviously at monitors the 42 mpix are seen, and the R returns unthinkable details. I can say that the autofocus of the A7III seemed more responsive than that of the older sister. I took pictures of rally cars frontally, at high speeds, never a blurry one. I recommend it even more now, since the prices are much lower. I don't know what they will invent with version IV, but to date I consider the A7III a "best buy" for quality and versatility. sent on July 28, 2019 |
![]() | Sony FE 90mm f/2.8 Macro G OSS Pros: Flawless construction, excellent solvency at all diaphragms, good value Cons: for me nothing Opinion: I come from the Canon 100 2.8 Macro, which is already great, but here we are at an even higher level. I use it for portraits and of course macrophotos with great satisfaction. It's my favorite lens, try it and you'll realize what a fixed optics is capable of. It's worth all the money spent, in fact, compared to the pretty good Canon should cost a lot more. I dare not imagine what it can do mounted on a 50 Mp camera (if it ever comes). Recommended for those who make macros and also those who do not... sent on July 09, 2019 |
![]() | Sigma DP2 Merrill Pros: Files of absurd quality at 100 ISO (for the b/n you get to 1600), quite compact and anyway it is not invasive, ordered menu and commands in the right place. Cons: Slow, battery is discharged quickly. Opinion: Who buys her knows what she's going to meet. Once the hand is taken (i.e. after at least three months of intense use) it creates a dependence that the reflex does not procure. It has no remotely the versatility and operating speed of a media SLR, but when you manage to "center" some shots is pure satisfaction. I found very useful advice discovered on the net to get the most out of this little sigma. I often carry it with me, always with a stock drums, it's like having a compact film.. I take a picture or two and then I turn it off... then I light it if I have the inspiration and so on. The PP I use lately is to convert the file to TIFF 16bit/ch with SPP and then retouch (sometimes nothing) with LR before exporting to JPG. Fine art prints of medium to large size are the manna for this camera. I think that I will never sell it, what it offers is far better than it claims... sent on December 23, 2018 |
![]() | Canon 1Ds Mark III Pros: spectacular image quality, up to 800 iso daresay unsurpassed for SLRs latest generation, or almost complete absence of digital artifacts, excellent range dinamica.rncorpo solid that transmits security, battery life, finally a bright viewfinder that does not have fluff or granules (see 5d mk2) rnpulsante shooting immediately. autofocus excellent rnrn Cons: annoying noise at ISO 1600 on, the LCD screen just resolute Opinion: after two years of 5d mk2, I am passed to 1ds3 after trying for a month to 5dmk3.rnho 1ds3 principalemte chosen for two reasons, prints (not the file monitor) to me have that which I was never able to 5mark2 get neither with nor with the 5mark3. Seem prints from film or diapositiva.Non know what can depend this, but I compared prints A3 of identical subjects (my son) made with the 5D3 and 1ds3 to 200iso and all those who saw the preferred ones sacttate with 1ds, think that video looked quite the opposite ... Unfortunately, this is true only up to 800iso ... I can say that in 1600, the 5d mk2 is no better while the 5D3 is another pianeta.rnl ' autofocus is more 'honest, even here the 5D3 is higher but not much while the d2 is much more' in basso.rnrnla worst thing about this machine is the LCD display, if not unnecessary use to navigate menus. also enlarging the picture just taken have not been able to understandif it was on fire as I wanted or no.rn sent on May 29, 2015 |

![]() | Sigma 35mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art Pros: excellent performance, ability to take 1.4 without compromising sharpness aberrations etc .. Cons: sincerely for the money I do not see flaws, even the focus to me is in line with other optical Opinion: I have this goal for several months and I'm really happy. With the 50mm canon shoot 1.4 meant sacrificing sharpness, shot with the Sigma 50% of the photos at full aperture and I had rarely sorprese.rnUna week ago I took about 80 pictures with the Sigma 1.4 and the same with the Canon 35 IS f2 of my amico.rnPosso say that the photos out of focus of these two lenses are the same. I did some testing, enough household, with the popular sheet inclined at 45 ° to figure out if there was a lack of focus but it appeared to me nothing wrong ...
