![]() | Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8 L USM Pros: Robustness, fast and precise AF Cons: Not Tropicalizato, resistance to flare Opinion: Had for 5 years on 5d and 5d III and many of my photos here in the Forum are made with the aforementioned lens. Very well built, with precise AF. Sharp even at full aperture but not the best around. Tamron G2 and Canon II series beat him in this field. Excellent blur, you notice enough chromatic aberration at full aperture. The resistance to flare is a weak point unfortunately. Watch where the sun is if you shoot with the low sun on the horizon. Unfortunately not tropicalized and in my 5d III the hooking had a little bit of play. However it is a lens that I recommend especially for portraits but also landscapes. sent on August 09, 2018 |
![]() | Sigma 35mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art Pros: Sharpness, Bokeh, super Blur Cons: AF stroke a bit short, AF inconstant on my 5d III and slow in low light conditions. Opinion: Bought for my 5diii I immediately noticed an AF inconstant. I apply a 2-step in the car and snap some photos out in good light. The AF is its weak point. A friend of mine here on the forum helps me with his USB Dock to calibrate it at various distances (30cm, 60cm etc). I test the chart at 45 degrees using the double-cross center points of the 5d III. At 30-40cm it's OK at 70-80cm distance and on 10 pics 2 are great, 5 have front focus, 2 have front focus chunky and 1 ha Back focus. We had it calibrated the day before! It's unacceptable to me. I put it side by side with the 50/1.8 STM and this toy is more accurate in AF than the Sigma. Fire stroke too short making it difficult to forge precision by hand in LV. I'm returning it. Too bad because the blur is remarkable, the image quality as well and I had thought of the pairing 35/1.4 and 85/1.4 sigma But I'll lose Sigma. sent on July 16, 2018 |
![]() | Canon EF 70-200mm f/4.0 L USM Pros: Lightweight, very fast AF and excellent sharpness even at f4.0 on Full FramernOttimi colors and good resistance to flare.rnAberrazioni chromatic non-existent on my old 5D. Cons: Virtually no one Opinion: I used it on my 5D Old for about 2 years with excellent soddisfazioni.rnSu FF its lightness and 'a decided advantage' cause the whole body + lens does not tire the braccio.rnMi and 'liked right away and I have not missed IS.rnOttimo of the AF also on the old 5D MKI where the sensor low density makes it really eccellente.rnOttima color rendering and nitidezza.rnPer the price he and 'a must on a FF where you have covered the average range high focal lengths with little spesa.rnIo I cover the wide part with a 17-40/4.0 and I must say that with 2 lenses so 'are virtually posto.rnL' I sold it to move to the 2.8 smooth as I recently several photos at concerts and / or evening and the f4.0 aperture is limiting me quite a bit. At a concert there 'stabilizer that takes the people on stage moves too and hence the need of 2.8 to avoid having to pull my old 5D always 3200ISO.Se I had a 6D maybe I would have kept. rnCredo regret that 'its light weight and small size. sent on March 03, 2013 |
