![]() | Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 STM Pros: Sharpness, size, yield, price Cons: Af a bit iffy Opinion: A gem. Taken a while ago around 100€, it is practically the lens that I have mounted on my camera 90% of the time. It has a very good image rendering and with a not very large machine it is a pleasure to transport. The AF sometimes, especially with low light, does not give the best of itself but in most cases I have never had major problems in this respect. Ultimately, at that price there are very few (logically new) targets of this level sent on December 18, 2025 |
![]() | Canon EF 35-70mm f/3.5-4.5 A Pros: AF, good building materials Cons: You cannot mount filters unless you remain fixed on the 35mm Opinion: I bought this lens a short time ago used for less than 50€ and it does its own. It doesn't have much sharpness or final performance but at that price I didn't expect anything better. The af is frighteningly fast and quite quiet and the materials with which it is built give me a feeling of reliability. The biggest flaw is that by bringing it above 35mm, the part of the lens near the lens (where the thread for the filters is located) goes inside the lens body making it impossible to mount a filter or even put the cap unless you stay on 35mm (maybe there are filters specifically to solve this problem but I really have no idea about this). sent on December 18, 2025 |
![]() | Canon 100D Pros: Size, raw file, AF (especially the center of the 9 focus points), price Cons: High iso, battery life, non-swivel display screen Opinion: I have had this camera for about ten years now and it has accompanied me on several trips. I think that its convenience of transport is its strong point, the fact that after 3 or 4 hours of using it around the city you don't want to leave it at home next time because your arms are now sore, that's saying something. The raw files it churns out are good and quite comfortable to work with. It doesn't hold up very well at high iso (up to 800 nothing strange and on some rare occasions they are decent even at 1600, above risks). The battery lasts very little but you solve it by carrying another couple. The non-adjustable screen is perhaps the thing I appreciate the least but at that price I think this is a really nice machine to have fun with. sent on December 18, 2025 |
