Nikon Z DX 16-50mm f/2.8 VR Pros: Good sharpness, build quality, constant aperture Cons: Flickering AF, strangely delicate thread Opinion: Taken new at the release, I must say that after the first initial doubts this 16-50 f2.8 (24-75 on FF) is a guarantee on Nikon's APS-C. On my Z50-II (and also on its little sister first series) it seems to merge into one with the camera body: beautiful to look at outside and inside, despite the many plastic parts. In practice, in addition to the very normal criticalities at the edges (not excellent at TA and all focal lengths, extraordinary from f4 onwards, drop in contrast etc ...) it returns an adequate sharpness to the reference crop sensors. Sore notes? Yes, a couple: the thread that seems to be indecisive (tested on three different 16-50 f2.8) in the limit switches, risking to force it or lose the circular filter, and above all the AF that does not present problems in normal conditions but which, as soon as the action becomes a bit frantic, struggles in the hooks and maintenance of the MAF: despite the processor and the amazing focusing quality of the Z50-II, some not impossible shots are unfortunately lost. However, the lens is 8.5-9 hands down. sent on 18 Aprile 2026 |

Nikon D7500 Pros: Good ISO tightness, tropicalization, light RAW files, excellent portability Cons: Lack of Battery Grip and dual slots, APS-C (if you consider a con), shutter speed and MAF Opinion: In the third year with this reflex (used), used assiduously. This is THE Nikon APS-C you would like in your kit: active, light, with excellent files, a very good ISO hold (up to 3200 you can surf easily, then you rely on generative noise removal), a good tropicalization, a bright and tilting "photography first" touch display (i.e. not articulated), with a pair of batteries and a pair of 64GB SD you exceed 1600 shots, You will forget to look at autonomy and memory. To make it eternal a BG (not available here) and a double memory slot would have been enough, but even so it will be hard to "kill" it in a weekend. Combined with a couple of premium lenses (such as the Sigma 18-35 f/1.8) it returns all the power and sharpness it has, even if with "only" 20.6 mpx. For sports photography, however, it is better to go for its big sister (D500), which is much more responsive. Overall, a super, SUPER APS-C. sent on 22 Settembre 2025 |
