Cons: No weather sealing. AF moderately fast. VR moderately efficient.
Opinion: Sharpness and contrast are very good at all apertures and focal lengths. I checked central sharpness vs. Zeiss Milvus 50/2 at close distance (60 cm), only to find that the difference in resolution was minimal, and the light transmission was less by about 1/6 stop, no big deal. The focal length decreases at short distances, as often occurs with zooms. Vignetting is moderate too (I suspect in-camera correction to be at work). Aberrations are nearly absent, but I have yet to perform night tests for coma and flare.
AF is accurate but not as fast as, say the 24-70/2.8 (which is probably my champion here).
VR works, but is less efficient that e.g. the sensor stabilization of the Df or any Olympus m43 (an unfair comparison). You cannot hope for sharp shots handheld at 1/2s, but otherwise the lens VR is fine for shooting in dark places without pushing the ISO too high.
The lens hood is provided with the lens and is bulky (16mm being the cause) but effective.
Bottom line, it is an extremely useful lens with no painful compromizes. You may want to complement it with a tele (stabilized = maybe the Z 105 macro) and a fast "nornal" lens, e.g. Viltrox 23/1.4, and get a fine travel kit. And if you think you need wider than 16mm, the smartphone is your friend :)
