Pros: Construction and design, file quality, monitors, interchangeable lenses

Cons: Absence of IBIS, EVF, tropicalization

Opinion: The Fujifilm X-E4 is the compact camera that made me fall in love with Fujifilm mirrorless cameras. Small and light with a minimalist design, it reminds me of a vintage camera or a small Leica and, if it's nice to have a beautiful object "on", the X-E4 reflects and almost fully satisfies what I was looking for (the perfect camera does not exist). Ideal for street photography and reportage, with the leather shoulder strap, the original leather case (which greatly improves the grip) and original aluminum thumb rest (to shoot better vertically) I almost always have it on me and very often I am referred to as the "American in Rome". Among the advantages, in addition to design and compactness, there are the 26.1 million pixel X-Trans IV sensor, probably the last one we will see on a Fujifilm and which equips the X-T4 (ex-flagship until some time ago) and an excellent monitor for taking photographs (unfortunately not replicated on the latest models). Honestly, I don't miss the second rear ring (as much as a large EVF +, especially for those like me who wear glasses) and, using the monitor swipes, not even the lack of the typical Fujifilm front lever that allows you to change the focus modes. The Thumb Grip, on the other hand, seems to me to be an "added" accessory that does not enhance the design of the camera, but having Arca Swiss attachment it is very useful when you need to use the tripod. Although small, I use it with a fleet of Fujifilm lenses ranging from the 16mm f1.4 R WR to the 56mm f1.2 R WR, but the Fujinon XF 27mm f2.8 R WR is certainly its "killing factor". With the zoom + large optics (50-200 and above), however, the camera is quite unbalanced. Strangely discontinued after only a little more than 1 year from its release, it is an almost unobtainable camera that maintains an excellent second-hand rating, as already happened for the X-100V.
