Panasonic Lumix LX100 II Pros: Total control over all parameters with physical dials, good, bright zoom Cons: compact but not very compact Opinion: I've had this machine for a couple of years now and for now, fingers crossed, I haven't had any problems like other users of dirt on the sensor. I find it to be the only compact camera, even if not easily pocket-sized, that has all the controls for aperture, timing, physical exposure. Really great not having to go into the menus. I find the software good, maybe some settings are hard to find, but ok. Image quality is great using an m4/3 sensor. Sometimes I start looking for better alternatives, but I think that in terms of portability, completeness of functions, brightness I can't currently find valid alternatives that make me say that I am making a leap in quality. I only miss a longer lens, but I would have to switch to a mirrorless, and I would lose its compactness which for street and travel are an indispensable gift. sent on 26 Marzo 2026 |

Panasonic Lumix TZ70 / ZS50 Pros: Build quality, compactness, optical zoom Cons: noise at high ISO, controls a bit small and sensitive Opinion: In my opinion it is one of those compact ones that, even today, still make sense. It is not a new car and it shows, but it has characteristics that are now less and less found in this range. The best thing for me is the zoom: having a 30x in such a small camera is really convenient. You can take it anywhere without thinking too much about it and at the same time you can take photos that you would never take with a normal compact camera, especially when you want to shoot something far away. In addition, the fact that you shoot in RAW in my opinion is a great advantage, because it still allows you to work well with the files afterwards. The quality of the photos is good as long as there is light. Outdoors in my opinion it still behaves very well, while as soon as you raise the ISO you immediately see the limit of the small sensor: the noise comes quite soon and the detail drops. But it is also normal for a compact of that type. Other flaws are the physical controls that are a bit small and the rear dial is far too sensitive. Sometimes you just have to touch it and change something without wanting to. It's not very serious, but when you use it often you notice it. The real strong point, however, remains the compactness. It's just a machine that you can always keep in your pocket and use without thinking too much about it, and in my opinion this is worth more than many specifications. It's not perfect, but it's one of those compacts that still makes sense today if you're looking for something simple, versatile and really portable. sent on 26 Marzo 2026 |
