The quality of the photos is good as long as there is light. Outdoors in my opinion it still behaves very well, while as soon as you raise the ISO you immediately see the limit of the small sensor: the noise comes quite soon and the detail drops. But it is also normal for a compact of that type. Other flaws are the physical controls that are a bit small and the rear dial is far too sensitive. Sometimes you just have to touch it and change something without wanting to. It's not very serious, but when you use it often you notice it. The real strong point, however, remains the compactness. It's just a machine that you can always keep in your pocket and use without thinking too much about it, and in my opinion this is worth more than many specifications. It's not perfect, but it's one of those compacts that still makes sense today if you're looking for something simple, versatile and really portable.

Opinion: My watchword in the choice of purchase was: "compactness for daily portability in your pocket and spend very little." My lens was maximum portability everywhere every single day, still having in my hands something clearly superior to a mobile phone. After a month of careful selection and studies, the choice fell on this gem, found new in the physical store at the price of € 240.00 (yes I know it was an unsold leftover because out of production, but precisely this could not be a better opportunity!) My need was to have a third body for when REFLEX and mirrorless remain at home, but never miss the moment that precisely with the mobile you could never equate. I WANTED the viewfinder, the ability to work completely in manual, the ability to shoot in monochrome mode and the compactness as much as possible while maintaining the photographic quality that a mobile phone cannot give you. Now after a month of intense daily use, tests and comparisons I would like to draw two conclusions about this gem! Many demand a lot of noise in the scarcity of light... ok, at night it is definitely not the best means with which to shoot, but I can guarantee you that during the golden hour, if you know how to manage the shadows and dark areas well, they will still be excellent files printable in A4 without any minimum noise (test carried out in practice personally). It has a great white balance automatically. The starting focal length 24mm in equivalence is well usable up to 600mm in optimal light conditions and without haze. I used it mainly for the B & W in monochrome scene mode ... a delicacy in the automatic management of whites and blacks, not always very manageable files in post production, but if you make a good starting shot, there are no problems. Also the sepia scene mode is very pleasant if you love the genre. Its "only" 12mpxl in a small 1" sensor (1cmX1cm) are more than enough for excellent sharp prints of at least 20x30. In short, I highly recommend the purchase of the new if you can find it as a leftover store. Do not think that the later models are better, on the contrary... with small sensor, often better a few pxl less ...

Opinion: This compact was my first photographic purchase. I chose it for the possibility of shooting in manual, for the focal extension extending from wide angle to supertele, for the presence of the EVF and for the RAW format. The build quality is excellent and in the silver/black color has that vintage air that makes it almost flashy. Around the lens there is a pleasantly braking comfortable metal ring that performs several functions according to the mode chosen. There is manual focus with peaking and depth of field indication. Remarkable macro mode since the minimum focusing distance is only 3cm with focal lengths from 24 to 50mm equivalent. The zoom is just amazing. A sensor so small gives great satisfaction in the focal extension but also brings with it big disadvantages. As soon as the sunlight falls you meet the first limits as increasing the ISO the noise becomes soon unacceptable. Similarly you can't expect the bokeh effect: the only way to get a nice blurry one is to play with the focus distance and with the zoom. The battery life is poor but for a few tens of euros you can buy an extra battery and get rid of the anxiety. Avoid the originals because they are too expensive (I use the Chili Power and they are fine). I put aside this camera to switch to a reflex but weight and clutter make me sometimes prefer the small TZ70.
