![]() | Canon EF 85mm f/1.8 USM Pros: Great quality at TA. Small and pocket-sized. Great value for money. Cons: It does not have stabilization. Opinion: I feel like criticizing only the lack of stabilization as a real defect, at 85mm the tremors can be felt more in videos (also because the lens is light and does not give solidity and firmness to the hand), even if having the Canon R6 has the stabilized sensor I can't complain too much. For the rest it's FINE. The image at f/1.8 is already sharp and contrasted, at f/2.5/2.8 the photos become poetry. The focusing speed is good, but less fast than the 50mm f1.4 and not suitable for videos in my opinion because it is not 100% reliable, it happens sometimes chw does not take focus. 85mm is a narrow focal length but still very manageable. I use it to take photos in crossfit competitions where I can get very close to the athletes to take beautiful portraits. Highly recommended because it adds that something extra and stands out from the classic 70-200 f/2.8 and can be found at a really cheap price. sent on December 25, 2024 |
![]() | Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM Pros: Convenient and pocket-friendly, excellent value for money. The blur from f/1.4 Cons: Not very sharp at TA especially outdoors, AF a bit jittery Opinion: Its lightness and small size encourage you to always carry it with you, considering that in low light situations it helps a lot. However, the sharpness is not of a high level at TA, but it is still good and definitely acceptable indoors or when there is no extremely strong lighting such as on sunny days when it loses some sharpness and noticeable chromatic aberrations are created. Closing at f/2 the situation improves and the photos at f/2.8 are magnificent. Not really suitable for videos due to the lack of stabilization and the not very constant and "nervous" focus. sent on December 25, 2024 |
![]() | Sigma 24-35mm f/2.0 DG HSM Art Pros: One of a kind, TA quality, AF speed. Cons: Bulk, weight. Opinion: Bought at 320€ used in perfect condition and I consider myself very lucky. It's a one-of-a-kind lens, great for someone like me who loves wide angles and wide apertures and would have had a hard time choosing between a 24, 28 or 35mm. Even if it is not a 1.8 it does not change much. I use it with the Canon R6 and K&F adapter and it works very well in terms of speed and autofocus accuracy. It has the strengths and weaknesses of all sigma art, that is, it has excellent image quality, beautiful colors and sharp already at TA and important weight, but it is very robust and resistant, it fell from about 1 meter high and only got a small scratch in the body, but not the lens. It is not stabilized but with the stabilized sensor and the weight that assists me to stay still it takes perfectly sharp photos even at 1/10 of a second (maybe I could push myself even more). I recommend that you take the sigma dock and upgrade it to avoid communication problems between the lens and the sensor stabilization. Highly recommended, even if unfortunately you can't find many of them around (at least used). sent on December 25, 2024 |
