![]() | Sony FE 24-105mm f/4 G OSS Pros: Solid and reliable. Cons: Weight and size. Opinion: I express an opinion as an amateur photographer, essentially based on the sensations of use, always looking for a versatile kit that meets the needs of quality, lightness in transport and use, reduced dimensions. Qualities that are difficult to combine and make coexist. I have been using it since 2018 and with great satisfaction in all photographic genres and it has never disappointed me, despite finding it a bit heavy and bulky. But it is always there, faithful companion of the Sony A7 III. sent on April 01, 2025 |
![]() | Voigtlander E 21mm f/3.5 Color-Skopar Aspherical Pros: Well built, small and light, great optical quality, 10-blade diaphragm. Cons: If you want to look for the nitty-gritty, it's not autofocus. Opinion: Purchased new in 2019, together with other Voigtlander lenses, to have a line of small and handy lenses to complement the heavy and bulky autofocus ones, and to be used on a full-frame Sony body. The presence of electrical contacts helps in precision manual focusing and allows the transmission of shooting data. The diaphragm is set exclusively by means of a ring, fluid and precise, in steps of a third of a stop and there is a scale of focus distances that allows me to use it very often in hyperfocal. Both operations are very quick to execute, allowing for great operational speed. It conveys great feeling in use, for its handling and for the impression of using an analog system that I still regret. Optical quality, effectiveness in backlighting, absence of doing, magical 10-blade star on the light points already at relatively open diaphragms are the other distinctive elements of this lens. It is one of the few lenses purchased, together with the 10mm and the 50mm Apo Lanthar by Voigtlander, which has never led me into the temptation of the change. sent on October 21, 2024 |
![]() | Voigtlander Apo-Lanthar 50mm f/2 Aspherical Pros: Construction, aperture ring, focus, sharpness, color rendering. Cons: I can't find any, to be picky: it's not autofocus. Opinion: The essential qualities of this lens are succinctly described in the Pros. The construction is exemplary and maneuvering it is a real pleasure, both for the presence of a smooth and precise aperture ring, and for the equally fluid focus ring. Focusing is assisted, using it on a Sony body, by means of a magnification that makes the operation much easier. It is equipped with contacts for recording shooting data and a metal lens hood. It returns sharp images and the color rendition is ringing. It has a 12-blade diaphragm that produces pleasant stars, more pronounced as it closes. It's not the only Voigtlander I use, I would say that this one, like the others, gives a unique pleasure of use, having never forgotten the one I felt at the time of analog when I used Nikon FM2 and AIS lenses. Finally, it has a metal body and small dimensions that increase a little in length by keeping its lens hood mounted. When I need to reduce its size, I mount a retractable rubber lens hood. In short, for me, who loves this focal length, it's the perfect fifty. sent on December 12, 2023 |
