![]() | Tamron SP 17-50mm f/2.8 XR Di II LD Pros: Price, f2.8, sharpness after f4, size. Cons: Autofocus, sharpness at f2.8, construction, noise. Opinion: Decent goal, but honestly it didn't drive me crazy. For the price at which it is found used, about € 120, it is also fine but not more. Nothing to say about sharpness for being a zoom. The real sore point in my opinion is the af which is slow, noisy and not very precise. In low light, it is not easy to focus. As a replacement for the 18-55 it is fine, but I continue to prefer the cheap but very valid fixed canon 50 f1.8 and 24 f2.8 which in my opinion perform better and are also easier to transport. sent on August 14, 2024 |
![]() | Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II Pros: Lightweight and found in kit Cons: Sharpness, brightness, distortion etc .. Opinion: Honest lens that does his job discreetly. I assume that this review is for those who have just started with photography and already feel the need to switch to a more performing lens... NO!!! To understand the photograph is not buy the full frame camera and the L series lens so I become very good and I will take spectacular photos ... to become good you have to experiment and (I will never tire of saying it) STUDY. You start with the classic little book on the basics of photography, then you buy a tripod and a flash and you start experimenting and taking thoughtful photos (such as long exposures or playing with lights) and then move on to more specific books on composition or any field that interests you to understand which lens is actually right for you. This is what the kit lens is for, to be able to do tests and experiment in order to understand what kind of photos we want to do. Having made this premise has its limits such as the noisy af, poor stabilization, dark, not very bright and not very clear but if it is in kit there will be a reason ... sent on August 12, 2023 |
![]() | Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 STM Pros: Sharpness, size, bright, stm, low cost, metal bayonet. Cons: On apsc becomes an 80mm Opinion: Excellent lens, used is between 70-90 € (the model before even less), definitely a must if you like portraiture. On apsc it becomes an 80mm, so not really versatile as a focal length compared to ff. I would not recommend it as the first lens to buy (on apsc) because of its limited use, rather I would opt for a 24mm 2.8 stm that becomes a 40mm or a tamron 17-50 2.8 that costs a little more (150 € used). Good sharpness at 1.8 but I recommend using it from 2.8. For the rest top the engine stm and good materials for the price itself of the optics. sent on July 31, 2023 |
