![]() | Canon RF 15-35mm f/2.8 L IS USM Pros: SHARPNESS, IMAGE QUALITY, BRIGHTNESS; Cons: DISPROPORTIONATE WEIGHT; HIGH PRICE; EXPENSIVE 82 MM FILTERS; NOT VERY RESISTANT TO DUST; TERRIBLE FLARE; DISTORTION EVIDENT AT ALL FOCAL LENGTHS Opinion: I go against the tide with respect to the opinions expressed here on the site. My opinion of this lens is negative. Undoubtedly the sharpness of the 15 -35 is exceptional and clearly beats the other wide-angle lenses of the EF series that I have tried. However, it is known that similar lenses such as the excellent EF 16-35 cost 800/900 euros... here, however, we find ourselves having to shell out a Mega cost of 2,200 euros and it is for this reason that I believe that the judgment on this lens must be particularly severe. So let's leave out the sharpness and move on to analyze the other aspects of the lens. To begin with, the weight is considerable, so much so that for a normal traveler it is difficult to carry other lenses in the backpack than the wide-angle. The problem exists because given the obvious distortion of the images produced by the lens, it is not possible to use the lens as "normal" for non-landscape shots, otherwise the subject will be deformed. From another point of view, after a year of use I noticed several times the blockage of the UV and polarizing filters due to the infiltration of dust between the filter and the lens itself with consequent intervention in assistance for the unblocking of the lens with breakage of the filter itself (moreover very expensive given the size). Furthermore, given the plastic material, very different from EF lenses, dust sticks everywhere and makes it mandatory to clean the lens thoroughly after each photo session. And again, compared to the EF 16-35 lens, (which fortunately I had not sold), the flare is very annoying and makes it almost impossible to take photos against the light. In addition, the distortion of the lens is quite marked and it is not possible to reduce it in post. In short, it is a good lens but given the defects I listed I do not recommend its purchase. However, I am waiting for the MARK II version because objectively having a high aperture on a wide-angle lens has considerable advantages. At the moment, therefore, if you need a wide-angle lens, I would evaluate other options. Final grade : 5 sent on October 20, 2024 |
![]() | Canon EOS RP Pros: Competitive price; FF quality on a compact body; useful features; electronic viewfinder; Precise focus Cons: Unusable 4K video; Battery with a low life; Poor dynamic range; Opinion: I come from 5d Mark II and 6d. I bought this little full frame a couple of weeks ago. After intense use I can confirm that the quality of the photos is comparable to that of 5D although with the EF lenses it seems to me that the 5d has something more, in terms of image quality. I really enjoyed the new features introduced and the lightness of the body. Finally I can take the car around even for impromptu exits. The electronic viewfinder, for which you need to get used to, is very useful and allows you to see what your photo will look like before taking it. With the release of these mirrorless taking photos and wading the display to check the result became Prehistory. Let's come to the flaws: 1) the battery lasts very little, buying a second backup battery is a must therefore. (eye that original canon costs 60 euros) 2) I tried the 4k, although the crop of the view is all in all bearable, what is to be reported is that the machine when recording in 4k fails to keep the focus on the subject and moving the shot there is a nuisance effect of "rolling" or image distortion. The 4k is therefore essentially unusable under these conditions. 3) The dynamic range compared to 6d and 5d mark II is lower. If you miss exposure and want to recover in posts by deleting shadows it produces a lot of noise and the image is almost unrecoverable. Overall rating: 7.5 rating. In my opinion, although someone has recommended this canon rp as the twin sister of the canon eos r, it remains to be carefully assessed the flaws mentioned above and consider whether it is worth spending 500 euros more for the canon eos r which I believe does not have the cons from me Detected. I will still give an update of this review as soon as I thoroughly test the machine. sent on August 15, 2019 |

Although I liked the new features not in the 5d series (gps and wi fi) in addition to extreme portability, from a comparison I made with the same lenses, overall, qualitatively inferior to the 5d mark II.rnrnVero is that the iso sensitivity is considerably improved compared to the 5d mark II but in my opinion, at the same conditions, the quality of the photographs made with 5d is greater than that of the 6d.rnrnAttention, so I do not want to diminish the quality of the machine and the price, ( it's about 1000 euros) is really a big deal. However, if you can do without the improvements I referred to, you'd better orient yourself to a 5d used if the 5d mark III itself is out of your budget.rnrnI would go this car only if you need to shoot with little light and you want to do without a good stand.rnrnFor the rI block a good car but far away, in my opinion, from the quality of the 5d mark II which in my opinion seems to be a camera belonging to a superior series. ![]() | Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM Pros: Brilliant clarity, optical quality, Reasonable price; Portability Cons: Lack hood "standard"; Opinion: I love this lens. The use of full frame (5d mark II) and is the best in my kit. The sharpness of the picture is sorpredente, greater even than that of the expensive L-series zoom! Also incredible price, is 300 euro in the network, a ridiculously low price when compared with other more famous optics. Worth much more than the money it costs. rnSu full frame is very usable in different situations, and it is a lens to carry around even for taking pictures in the street. Hard to think of selling it ... rnDa buy without reservation. sent on November 22, 2013 |
![]() | Canon EF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM Pros: Versatility, build quality, excellent sharpness, value for money; focal length Cons: Excessive vignetting at 24mm and wide open; Vignetting with polarizing up to 30mm focal length, weight, dimensions Opinion: It 'the perfect lens for travel! On full frame from the best in you and in terms of sharpness comes to quality levels comparable with fixed non-canon L (but always a little lower in quality, to the above-mentioned fixed equal focal length). The defect that none of the users of the forum and that I have described is discharged after several shots, and using the polarizer also openings medium, cartoon does not only 24 but up to 30 mm focal length. Not a big problem, given the possibility of correction in post production, but it is a defect that makes it preferable to use other lenses for wide-angle shots. For the rest has no blemish, and I recommend it without reservation. I have enjoyed the use of versatile and the ability to switch from wide angle to medium telephoto in a few moments, keeping a photographic quality is also excellent if not outstanding. ![]() | Canon EF 35mm f/2.0 Pros: Excellent sharpness, quality fixed lens without compromise in price, lightness, cheap filter; 35 Focal ideal for handyman on full frame Cons: Bokeh is not exceptional, a bit 'slow in the AF; Opinion: After reading the opinions on the forum, I decided some months ago to buy the lens before making the leap to the 35 L. I was really amazed by the quality of this lens, which has gone far beyond my expectations. On FF (5d mark II) I was able to compare it with the 24-105 L, which at the same focal length is losing against the small 35. The sharpness of the 35 is hard to beat, seeing is believing. I also appreciated the extreme lightness that allows you to go out with the 5d as if it were a big firm. Perhaps it may appear a pro trivial, but I assure you that I have often declined to take the 24-105 because of the weight and footprint also due to the fact that the evidence made by me, 35 is a winner against emblazoned handyman . Perhaps the 50 1.4 is more suitable for portraits, given the greater openness and clarity, but I assure you that this lens is worth every euro it costs! RnCredo that combined with a FF body give the best of himself as the focal length is really 35 best of this format. I've used both pere landscapes to portraits ambientati. The openings 8/11 from the best, although at full aperture behaves very well. Perhaps it is true that the bokeh is not great but it really does not feel the mancanza.Non understand why the canon has decided to put it out of production! Maybe because it makes too much competition to the other fixed the house more expensive? RnAvevo bought this lens to try the focal length of 35, but now I've decided that I'll keep it even if I decide to take the step towards the big brother of the series L.rnVoto: 8.5 / 9RN sent on September 14, 2013 |
![]() | Canon EF 28mm f/1.8 USM Pros: Solid construction; Resistance; precise Autofocus Cons: Sharpness poor; Shortly versatile on aps-c; Price Opinion: I bought this lens for use on my 60D. I believe that this is a fixed superluminoso, the overall quality of the photos in terms of sharpness was comparable to the performance of 50 1.4. I made a big mistake: the niitidezza leaves much to be desired and after several trials I realized that my photos were not qualitatively superior to those taken with a mid-range zoom lens with the same focal length. I believe that the review of this objective should be severe enough considering the fact that it costs almost 500 euro. Honestly after keeping it a couple of months now ... I sold my car putting on 17-40 which gave better results for the same focal length. Money down the drain then. sent on May 14, 2013 |
![]() | Canon EF 17-40mm f/4.0 L USM Pros: Quality L series tropicalization, resistors, image quality on aps-c Cons: Image quality is not at the top of full frame models; vignetting on FF unusable apertures Opinion: I have a love-hate relationship with this view. The first shots I made of 60D were rather disappointing. After several shots I realized that the lens was at his best in small apertures. For this reason, and also because of the failure to stabilize, I highly recommend using it where possible with a tripod in order to keep the diaphragm always above the opening 8.0. After being switched to full frame with the 5D mark II, I noticed some flaws in the quality of the photo, such as vignetting and made the edges, as indeed they have confirmed other users. For this reason I decided to sell it to switch to better optics. But perhaps this is the price you pay to be passed to the world full frame. I feel, however, to advise the optics for all those who use a camera body aps-c. sent on April 25, 2013 |
