![]() | Sony A7 Pros: Full Frame, very light, dimensions, construction quality, aesthetically beautiful, price, ergonomics keys and rings Cons: ridiculous AF speed, unusable low-light AF, battery life, low-light and slow viewfinder, bad image color rendering, terrible white balance, slow start-up, limited and expensive lens kit Opinion: I state that when I bought the Sony A7 I had never used the mirrorless system before, and I had used a Nikon D7100 for professional purposes, so my direct comparison I do with the Nikon kit. This machine at its launch immediately fascinated me for its new technology, its aesthetic beauty and its small size, so since I would have liked to save weight on my equipment, I bought it. I never made a bigger mistake. The sony A7 is a bad machine from almost all points of view, working in events where speed and responsiveness are needed, many times even indoors and partially in the dark, the Sony A7 manages to lose at least 50% of the moments for the very low speed of focusing and the way it blends in low light conditions indoors. The viewfinder on the outside is not very bright, on the inside it is difficult to follow the movements, with a low refresh rate. After the first tests I could immediately notice that the battery had an insufficient duration even for an amateur, so in addition to buying several extra batteries, in my works I tried to always turn off the machine when I had that minute of pause, but here follows another big negative point, once the machine is turned off, Getting a shot in speed is impossible, because the start time of the machine is long and therefore you lose those 5/7 seconds of scene. This with Nikon has never happened to me, even with the compact practically, on Nikon kit when you press ON the shutter and' already ready immediately to shoot. Another big negative point is that it is impossible to work with Jpeg, the color quality is from another world, it does not completely reflect the original colors of the scene and the white balance does not even know what it is. The image almost always results in a cold and dull tone. This is a negative aspect even on RAW, retrieving a RAW takes longer than expected, because you have to adjust the white balance, the colors one by one and the lights. The only thing I liked about this machine was the aesthetic beauty, the ergonomics of the keys and dials and the lightness. What to say about this camera, I do not recommend it even to an amateur or those who want to approach the world of photography, even if you find it at a ridiculous price. Buy more beware of this machine. sent on June 05, 2023 |
![]() | Nikon AF 28-80mm f/3.3-5.6G Pros: Weight, size and price. Sharp at the right point, fast AF Cons: too plastic, noisy, fragile graft, low quality in videos, aesthetically ugly Opinion: I used this lens as the first lens in all my camera bodies, on a D5200, a D7100 and a D800. On APS-C the focal range is a bit narrow on the wide angle, but it is very pleasant from 70 to 80mm, lens a bit dark but outdoors with sunlight it can do its job well and gives a good sharpness to the images. On D800 I noticed that at 28mm it distorts the image a bit as if it were a 10mm. Its highest quality gives it to 50mm f/8 on both APS-C and FF. In general I recommend it to those who need a lens all do at a very low price, if you have a good camera body you can also do some professional shots and no longer amateur. sent on June 05, 2023 |
