![]() | Canon RF 35mm f/1.8 Macro IS STM Pros: AF speed, compactness, weight, stabilization Cons: Nothing (for what it costs) Opinion: I've been using it for a couple of months in combination with the R6 mk II and I can tell you that I don't find any faults. Sharp at TA, fast and accurate focusing. I would like to tell you the flaws, but for what it costs you have too much. Obviously RF 35 1.4 is better, tropicalized, with an internal focus (it certainly beats it in everything) but it also costs more than three times and weighs 250 grams more. Between the two I preferred the 1.8 because I didn't feel the need at all (trying them both) to spend all that extra money, and after two months of use I can also tell you that it's fantastic to use to take street shots, certainly less flashy than the L series. sent on January 30, 2025 |
![]() | Viltrox AF 85mm f/1.8 II Pros: Excellent blur, solid lens, low weight Cons: chromatic aberration Opinion: I bought this lens (new at auction for 300€) for canon r6 mk II... Honestly, I'm finding myself divinely! Fast AF, excellent blur, I don't see any problems even at TA (maybe "fault" of the camera?) For what you spend on it, it is certainly worth more. Leaving aside the "old" EF lenses, in my opinion, you can't find better. I prefer it to the RF 85mm f2 first of all for that little bit more brightness, then also for the cost, not to mention the materials used. It makes me laugh that there are users who complain about said optics for the weight, or for the materials! Quality weighs, professional lenses are always the ones that weigh the most, don't you want the weight?! Make plastic goals. TO CONCLUDE the only flaw of viltrox, but it had already been seen in other lenses, the chromatic aberration which, however, I don't think is even too excessive and often even pleasant. sent on January 30, 2025 |
