![]() | Leica APO-Summicron-M 35mm f/2 ASPH Pros: Sharpness and microcontrast at the highest level. Nice colors and great bokeh to be a 35mm. Lens with great character (Leica), makes photos never predictable. Cons: The price, but worth it. Opinion: Lens with exceptional resolution, even at full aperture and throughout the frame. It gives the maximum of itself to f2.8, but maintains very high quality at all diaphragms, both in the center and at the edges. So the aperture should be closed only to increase the depth of field. Microcontrast at levels never seen on other lenses of any brand (the only exception perhaps the Leica Apo 50mm f2 asph.). Very beautiful, warm and saturated colors. Natural and pasty bokeh. Strong three-dimensionality, much more than what you might expect from a 35mm. Goal with a great character. Also interesting is the possibility of focusing up to 30cm. For focusing, from 30 to 70cm you have to use the live view of the camera. I use this lens on an M11 and I must say that the combination is very apt. The only drawback of this optics is the price, but in my opinion, it is still worth it for the overall optical performance certainly out of the ordinary. sent on April 09, 2023 |
