![]() | Sony FE 50mm f/1.2 GM Pros: Magic in the shot, best AF ever seen, stratospheric details, no aberration or reflections of any kind, general feeling of having found the perfect lens. Cons: To take full advantage of it, you would need a very high-end camera body. Opinion: A lens that I don't think has many competitors. After seeing hundreds of video reviews and opinions on the comparison with the 50mm GM 1.4, all agreeing in putting both lenses on the same level, I decided to try the two lenses at the same time. The result is not even remotely comparable, as the 50mm 1.2 is dramatically superior in: - blurry, at any aperture; - ambient light management; - details (collects any and I mean any micron); - noise at high ISO (it doesn't seem to notice it at all); - feeling of "magic" in every shot; - Autofocus and subject identification. I could go on for hours, but the concept wouldn't change: always test the lenses yourself whenever possible. The weight, for all the glass inside and for the four AF motors, is absolutely congruous. The price is slightly higher than other GMs, but the quality is unmatched. Think of it as an investment for life: you'll never want to part with it. sent on February 02, 2024 |
