![]() | Tamron 28-200mm f/2.8-5.6 Di III RXD Pros: Weight, size, sharpness, versatility, price, AF almost at sony level Cons: If compared to the cost it has no defect Opinion: I wanted to try this lens because many reviews spoke well of it. I state that I come from a tamron 35-150 f2-2.8 so someone could take me for crazy to have made this step. Without taking anything away from the 35-150 in terms of quality but the weight at least for me is really excessive (combined with the a7iii with battery grip), we are talking about more than 2 kg. So most of the time he stayed at home or in my backpack and I preferred to use the 28-60 sony very small and very light albeit darker. The 28-200 combined with the a7iii is almost perfect (for my use of course), everything is around 1.2kg and you have exceptional versatility in a single lens. You can switch from wide angle to telephoto in an instant. The sharpness is on excellent levels to be a superzoom and also the af responds well 90% of the time. It lacks stabilization and some buttons but you can live very well without modern camera bodies. In short, for me it is the best all-rounder lens for those looking for lightness and versatility without too many compromises in terms of quality. Ideal for a 360° use perhaps combined with a fixed light 1.8. I noticed that around used there are none although sales on Amazon are many. A sign that those who bought it hold on to it. I preferred it to the sony 24-105 f4 (which I got to try) because of the weight and focal range. sent on April 17, 2023 |
