Sony A7 V Pros: AF on BIF, Battery Life twice as long as competitors, Pre Capture in raw up to 1 sec. Cons: CFExpress A care and less performing than CFExpress B Opinion: Purchased precisely for birdlife and it immediately turned out to be a marvel at the first shots! As soon as you focus on any bird, the AF immediately jumps on the eye and does not let it go, if set correctly, even if the bird passes behind the trees the ad is still there, glued to the eye! Raw files are very good already in the camera, and in any case very elastic in p.p. so you can get satisfactory results with p.p. sw. Currently tested only with Sony 200-600 lens, waiting to try it with other lenses to see the real all-round capability of this camera. The only flaw, the CFexpress A card which is much slower than the CFexpress B, so if you are used to shooting at high burst 30 fps, after a couple of seconds you will hear the shots slow down to allow the machine to empty the buffer! A small limit but one that I don't feel like emphasizing as I shoot bursts of one second at most and with the pre-shot you already get 60 shots.... P.S. it's my first Sony camera and I'm satisfied! sent on 13 Marzo 2026 |

Olympus OM-D E-M10 IV Pros: Lightness, portability, image quality, availability used! Cons: Doesn't have microphone input slot, USB not Type-C Opinion: I didn't expect so much technology and quality from an entry level machine and the Micro Four Thirds sebsor. I was amazed, like others, by the resistance to ISO even in low light conditions, then nowadays with the denoise SW, you can get photographs worthy of an APS-C reflex of not even too many years ago. (reference to my obsolete Nikon D60) Obviously the difference with a Full Frame is perceived, but the portability allows it to be used in everyday situations, without feeling the lack of the Full Frame, except for specific shots such as multi exposures at night, which in any case do not go badly at all. Unfortunately the lack of the slot for microphone input is a real flaw as well as the lack of usb-C, which forces you to buy adapters for downloading photographs on laptops with usb-c ports I have not yet exploited it 100% but overall I would say that as a Mirrorless machine for everyday life it is really a great purchase, And for this last point, the availability of used is really high, so you can buy it for very little change already including some lenses. sent on 03 Aprile 2025 |

Panasonic Lumix S 20-60mm f/3.5-5.6 Pros: Good sharpness even on the sides, Lightweight and compact, fast autofocus, Sold in the basic kit! Cons: Not very bright, zoom ring slightly too frictioned. Opinion: A surprise, I thought I had in my hands the classic kit lens made of plastic and instead it turned out to be a surprise. It remains a little dark, so in situations of low light it suffers a little, but with the sun it does not do badly at all. Excellent sharpness even on the sides, where I thought it struggled a bit, instead both at 20mm and 60mm it does very well. For what it costs and for what it offers, passed with flying colors, neglecting even the small flaws found. sent on 07 Settembre 2024 |
