tamron_17-70_f2-8iii_vcTamron 17-70mm f/2.8 Di III-A VC RX D

Pros: Focal range, brightness, minimum MF distance, stabilization.

Cons: Not very compact, vacuum cleaner.

Opinion: Certainly the most versatile lens I own at the limit of macro. Very good image rendering except for some compromises. Stabilization, etc. certainly a lens to buy. But be prepared to have dust behind the front lenses. Actually, I didn't know if it was a problem of my specimen but I read online that it is not an unknown problem. So consider that. Of course, if you keep it in a dry environment there are not so many contraindications but with a view to resaleability meh...

viltrox_af50_f1-8Viltrox AF 50mm f/1.8

Pros: Metal construction.

Cons: Sharpness, onion bokeh,

Opinion: I'm not an expert and I've tried it mainly on APSC except for a friend's sony a7III. I picked up this lens on offer and to evaluate a switch to FF. The sharpness slightly higher than that of my tamron 17-70. Closing the aperture doesn't get that much better. Maybe on FF it is less noticeable, but now I understand all the comparisons with the Sony 50mm f1.8. Take this review for what it is, but it certainly didn't satisfy me.

sigma_30_f1-4dnSigma 30mm f/1.4 DC DN C

Pros: Weight, compactness, color rendering, f1.4 aperture, versatility.

Cons: Low-light focus. Chromatic aberration in rare cases.

Opinion: Assuming that I still consider myself a neophyte, this was the first non-kit lens I took. I did everything, with a focal length equivalent to 45mm FF you really do everything and I used it a lot, in all light conditions, at any time. Beyond all the merits, sharpness at full aperture, colors, bokeh, flare content that when there is garba me. I found only two annoyances more than saying problems: the not very reliable focus in low light conditions that leads me to go to MF, and in the backlight in well-lit conditions the chromatic aberration comes out that when there is noticeable. Given the quality-price ratio of the used (220 € used shop) convinced me to also take the 16mm and point to complete the set with the 56mm.
