meyer_trioplan100_f2-8Meyer Gorlitz Trioplan 100mm f/2.8

Pros: Bokeh, light, very funny, bubble effect... and also small-canvases.

Cons: Nothing, apart from the price.

Opinion: You only have to buy the aluminum version 100 2.8 with the 1 in the triangle . Forget more (like the 50 or the 100 2.8 black). The price is what it is... but having patience ... I state that I am still experiencing it. For me it is an extraordinary lens for the dreamy portrait. With small extension tubes you can also get closer to the subject (the smallest will be 3 mm). The optimal distances for the bubble effect are, from what I have seen so far, subject to 1 meter in diffused light / backlight and vegetation about 3 meters behind in full direct light. Then you have fun experimenting. The thing that surprised me and that I did not expect is that closed by f8 is sharp and not even a little (even more so at f11), even if it lacks a bit of contract (to be added in PP). The yield is vintage, but the sharpness is all there.

tamron_70-300macroTamron 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Di LD Macro

Pros: Right focal width. Almost complete macro. Hood always available. Lightweight for focal length. Extraordinary price.

Cons: Qauasi chromatic aberrations always present (but simple to remove in PP). Not easy to use.

Opinion: I had this lens because I bought a Canon 5D Mark II with some lenses, including this one (in excellent condition). I think I've experimented with it embossing to try to understand it. At first I did not love it, on the contrary, then ... Let's start with the cons. You have to get used to AF. If you understand how it works (not being recent is not comparable to modern ones) you can handle it well in most situations. Sometimes it goes into trouble and here the manual is "smooth" enough to allow you an easy fire. Other serious defects I do not see. The brightness is in line with those of its cluster, the weight is light. While not excelling in photographic quality, most of the shots I've taken are decent/good/excellent by definition and colors. It has the Plus of turning into a macro with a max magnification ratio of 1:3.9. Of course, the CAs are always present or almost, but they are removed in a couple of clicks in PP. And we come to the strong point indeed very strong: the price. On the bay you pull it down between 50 and 100 euros. I find that at that price you will not find anything that allows you to have a zoom certainly not easy, agree, but that covers the average distances decently. Well of course you can buy another 70-300 f/4-5.6 like this but Canon L IS USM the performance is much better, but instead of 50 euros you have to pay it a thousand....
