![]() | Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 DG DN OS Sport Pros: Incredible, maybe even sharper than the 85mm DG DN, super price, superlative AF Cons: Weight, Zoom ring too clutched and in the wrong place Opinion: Recently purchased and I can say that I was blown away by the optical quality, believe me... I'm seriously considering the 85mm F1.4 Dg Dn to rationalize the kit. The paste is the same as its portrait brother, the AF is more precise than some native lenses despite having a dated body (A7RIII) and never misses a shot. The negative notes are the weight (but it is worth spending 1000€ more for the GMII???) and the zoom ring in the wrong place (instead of the MF ring). Nothing to say about the build quality, it's a tank! Worth more than it certainly costs, good sigma sent on August 28, 2024 |
![]() | Sony FE 16-35mm f/2.8 GM Pros: Construction, Optical Yield, Distortion, Star, Screw Filters Cons: Clutter, price on the new ("the good stuff costs") Opinion: Taken used to replace the tamron 17-28 that did not satisfy me both in terms of excursion and optical yield... well I have to say I made the best purchase ever. I also read reviews on other platforms that find it little engraved at 35mm... I honestly find it a blade in all contexts! already at F4 you reach a sharpness equal to some fixed. It returns faithful colors and an excellent microcontrasto.... on the other hand, just look at the MFT. It solves all 42Mpixels of my RIII very well. At closed diaphragms it returns an unparalleled star. I don't know what else to say... I find it great. Great for those who, like me, were often on out-of-the-door trips to constantly change the lens between 35mm and wide angle. Now I have one less lens and so much more quality! sent on October 27, 2020 |
![]() | Samyang AF 85mm f/1.4 FE/RF Pros: Price, lightness, aberrations almost absent Cons: Construction, warm colors not always faithful always to be corrected, lampshed, sharpness under F2.0 Opinion: Unlike many to me this lens has not really convinced: Sharpness at f1.4 not exhilarating if put close to the new sigma DG DN, it is recovered only at F2.0. Large and plastic, the lampshon looks like a camping cup and has a slight play on the lens. Noisy autofocus in some situations, slower and less precise than FE 1.8 and dg DN. The most annoying thing is the shades it returns (on each photo you have to put your hand on it with the lever of yellows and oranges). Replaced with the new Sigma and there is no history.... of course it costs half you will say... only that the sigma is worth them all, the sammy is not even worth half in my opinion. If you have little budget it is better to focus on the proven Sony FE f1.8, which is less "toy" than this sent on October 27, 2020 |
![]() | Sigma 85mm f/1.4 DG DN Art Pros: Sharpness, construction, colors, blurry, lightning autofocus Cons: the lens profile in Adobe is still missing, images with little contrast in some light situations Opinion: At just available on the Italian m-trading circuit. Comparing it to the samyang AF 85 f1.4 I can say that we are on another planet.... impeccable construction, solid lampshed, incredible optical performance. I don't know who's complaining about the cap... I've never lost it and I find it built better than some Sony. Returns faithful colors even if, in some cases, it returns images with little contrast (recoverable immediately in post). To achieve the compactness compromise they removed the elements to correct the distortion, it is not a problem --> in LR it is immediately remedied with a -9/-10 in manual lens correction. (waiting for the official lens profile in Camera Raw/Lr). Lightning-fast and precise autofocus, continuous AF performance comparable to the Sony FE 1.8. Embarrassing sharpness already from 1.4. Satisfied with my purchase, I really believe that this is the 85 best-buy for sony E system. I recommend it to everyone. IT'S GREAT! sent on October 27, 2020 |
