sony_a7Sony A7

Pros: Full frame, excellent sensor (if you shoot in RAW) weight and size, possibility to mount any lens you can think of, fantastic manual MAF, price of the used to date

Cons: Unwatchable JPG, ridiculous AF, ergonomics of a 70s SLR, battery life, lack of some fundamental functions (see minimum times with ISO car), sometimes slow start

tamron_28-105_f2-8Tamron 28-105mm f/2.8 LD IF

Pros: Focal excursion, construction quality, color and sky rendering, blurry comparable to a fixed (at 105mm) cost, Minimum distance maf

Cons: Slightly soft at the ta edges at 28mm (just close a couple of stops) heavy and bulky. Easy to flare in the presence of light sources in the frame

Opinion: I was looking for the Tamron 28-75 f2.8 to use on the nikon d600 to have an all-rounder and bright zoom, I came across this lens of which I ignored existence, and, thanks to the low price, I bought it without thinking too much about it. From the very first photos I was struck by the color rendering, they were the same shades that the CCD of the d200 gave me, and without pp! It's as sharp as many other current zooms, at 28mm it loses a bit of sharpness especially at the corners, but who shoots landscapes at 2.8? Closing a couple of stops is ok. Already closing it to f5.6 you can forget the diaphragm. I feel very good about using it with the flash inside, but also as a handyman it goes great, except that it is really heavy and cluttered not a little. On apsc it goes even better in terms of sharpness (of course) but moves the focal excursion too high, good only if you make portraits. Now we come to the sore notes, as I said with its 850 grams it is nice brick, I recommend using it with battery grip, to have a more comfortable grip. At the focal point of 105 mm it doubles the length, plus its lampshon( do not buy it without, it is not found) is huge. It's not a lens that loves versus light, Flares are guaranteed and intrusive ( you don't need the sun, sometimes even a very intense fillet creates problems). If we compare it to a sacred monster like the Nikkor 24-70 f2.8 is obviously lower, but the focal point is 30 mm wider. Building a lens with this focal and 2.8 fixed extension involves compromises, see flares and softness at short focal points, but if you're looking for a zoom with a focal extension that doesn't force you to keep changing, that's bright enough, and that's used under 150 euros, this Tamron is unbeatable. In my model the antitrust slip works perfectly, when inserted it does not stretch even bringing the machine around the neck and jumping, when it is disengaged you can zoom in by directly moving the front optical group back and forth, very fast and practical. For me a nice 9 selo deserves everything 18/02/2021 Almost a year after this review, I can only confirm the quality (at least for my needs) of this perspective. In this period I often thought of replacing it with something more modern..... I tried the Nikkor 24_120 F4 but the blurry did not convince me and the distortion at 24 mm feels a lot, it is sharp, but even the Tamron is if closed at F4 or 5.6. also tried the sigma art 24-105 F4 better than the Nikon both as a yield and as a construction, blurred so sharp, but we always return there to F4..... In the end, comparing them to this dinosaur of the analog age, I don't see all these differences, at least for the use I make of them, such as to justify an expense of 500€ or so. With all its limitations (not stabilized) and its flaws, it remains an excellent lens for me, especially at the price at which it is found today, which, makes its difettucci take second place. I confirm the vote, 9 full!

nikon_80-200_f4aisNikon 80-200mm f/4 AI-s

Pros: definition, constancy of yield on all focal points and at all lengths, three-dimensionality of the image, ergonomics (still!!) materials and unimpeachable construction. ridiculous price compared to what it offers

Cons: none, except that they no longer manufacture it

Opinion: I bought 3, all to be restored, all 3 once restored to their former glory, I sold them to finance other goals. Well, 3 months ago I bought another one at 30 degrees, a shady dial, with lots of mushrooms to make risotto and glued diaphragm. As with the other 3 I disassembled it completely, reclaimed from fungi and mold (luckily they had not affected the lining of the lenses) replaced the felts of the zoom, and fattened the helicoid, it is back as new! I do not make the photo repairer for a living, but only for passion, I disassembled several lenses, but the quality that is found in this lens (and in general on all the old Pre Ai,Ai, Ai-s) is scary!! Yes it can disassemble and reassemble indefinitely without problems, because there is not a single part that is not metal, except the lenses( and that lenses!) the precision of processing and assembly is crazy, just think that the zoom mechanism works without lubrication without lubrication . All this makes us think even more, if we think that when it was produced there were no numerically controlled processing systems, but almost all the processes were handmade. I love this goal, because, despite being manual focus, it has an incredible operational speed, the lack of af easily compensates by closing the diaphragm, but on firm or slow subjects it also starts well at TA, where it is already a blade on the whole excursion. The colors are saturated, but never fired, plastic, full-bodied and neutral. It goes well with the sensors of 24Mp and beyond, the solvency of this lens manages even the most demanding sensors. It's a pleasure to use! Fast, fluid, the monopoly control is practical and fast. It has contained dimensions and weight. I confirm what Gsabbio said, the F4.5 version is better, especially the 80-200 f4.5 N, so to speak, the one with the rectangular mask on the rear lens, but we talk about goat wool. If you find one take it without hesitation, on digital goes great, if then taken in analog, try it on the 125 fp plus, in terms of details and sharpness is literally scary! My apple trees hold tight

nikon_70-300gNikon AF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 G

Pros: Light, excellent yield (in relation to price) very effective anti-reflective treatment, wide excursion, up to 200mm sharp and defined already at TA, minimum focus 1.5 meters. Low price

Cons: Except the lenses are all plastic, at the maximum focal length loses in sharpness, is not very bright, does not have the physical ring of diaphragms, af not very fast and not motorized, the silver version is unwatchable

Opinion: Optical purchased in 2002 to have a battle canvas to use on an analog f65 turned out to be a good lens especially in relation to the purchase price. Dusted on the d200 (where it becomes a 140-450 mm) and currently in use on the d600 surprised me for the excellent yield up to 200mm, after you have to close a few stops to have good results, the colors are quite neutral, maybe just tending to the cold. The anti-reflection treatment is excellent, flare and ghost practically absent, just a slight loss of contrast in the most extreme situations, very solvable in post, at most just mount its lampshade. It has a pleasant blurry, which combined with the focal length allows you to make close-ups remaining at a proper distance, useful when between you and the subject there are, or there must be several meters. the resolution is great, from 70 to 200 you can use ta or at most close a couple of stops, besides it is better to close at least f8 or f11 to have a good definition. This problem is felt more on full frame, on the apsc is better because because of the crop factor, it takes only the best part of the lens, the center. Light and unwieldy, it allows you to walk, car around the neck without playing the cervical to the sera.la minimum distance of 1.5 m combined with the long focal allows you to take "almost macro" photos to objects not too small ( flowers, butterflies, insects medium.large). Let's come to the downsides. The construction is cheap, all plastic, even the bayonet, so be gable to take shots on the lens. the zoom dial is not bad, but at 300 mm the lens doubles its length and you feel a certain game of the barrel, the maf's dial is instead small, uncomfortable and has a short and completely free ride, difficult to sew into manual if you do not have small fingers . The brightness is what it is, but with recent bodies you can climb with iso with some tranquility. The AF takes advantage of the engine of the machine, so for entry levers that do not have the engine in the machine body, no AF. The speed is not comparable to the current AMs but it is not even that bad, I also used it for sporting events in AFc mode and if it got away with it with dignity, the speed depends on the body machine in these cases. As in all G lenses lacks the physical diaphragm diaphragm, on modern bodies no problem, but on analog you may have limitations, on my f90x, I can use it only in P mode. For the price at which it is today I would like to recommend it to those who have made the switch to full frame and is discovered on the canvas side( and on the financial side). For less than 100 euros you take a good lens, a little plastic but with an optical compartment still very valid, to carry around without too many patemi and weights. If you decide to buy it, the silver version costs on average 20 euros less than the black, but it is really tamarrissima.

nikon_d200Nikon D200

Pros: Built to be eternal, CCD Colors and Dynamic Range, file workability. buttons, buttons and dier, no menu! everything at hand without taking the eye off the viewfinder compatibility with an endless optical park and for all pockets

Cons: The important noise over 800 iso, the coating rubber comes off ( but it changes with little), for the rest given the age I would say that it is THE REFLEX

Opinion: My first DSLR!!! First I had, and still have, the F90x, then I bought a used d200 in 2016. Paid 200 euros with less than 20000 shots, now I use it less because I flanked the D600, but in certain situations I prefer it, because of the yield of the CCD, Very different from the Cmos sensors and closer to that of the film. It allowed me to reuse all my Ai, AI-s and Af optics in all variants, to which I immediately flanked the stabilized 18-55. If you like to take pictures as you did with film, but without the constraints that it entailed, this is the right machine. The build quality is pro body, uncompromising. All the metal, tropicalized, physical controls for each function, you take it in your hand, and you find all the controls at your fingertips, exactly where you expected them to be, the first time you've ever had it, so it's ergonomic! In good light (i.e. low iso) he manages to pull off excellent shots, especially on portraits. It has excellent flash management, the built-in one is useful for lightening in the backlight, if you want more you will take a sb600 for two lire, and you can have fun as you please( Hss, wireless piloting using the built-in flash as a comander). Over 800 iso better not to go(1000 if you expose well) otherwise the grain is seen, but I like it because it is very fine and resembles that of a Film Bn from 400 iso or down there. The only real flaw are the rubber coatings that come off, but with 40 dollars you will find the original parts and come back as new. To date it is at ridiculous prices, 100 euros or so. if you happen not to let her escape because if used properly( and not a member of hound) is still able to churn out photos that, seeing them printed, make you say "WOW!!"
