samyang_af135_f1-8Samyang AF 135mm f/1.8 FE

Pros: Sharpness already at 1.8, bokeh, AF on a7iii

Cons: weight, distortion

Opinion: I wanted a 135mm 1.8 with AF, and not wanting to spend much on Sigma or Sony GM I took advantage of a temporary offer on amazon to buy this Samyang of which there are excellent reviews on Youtube. With 800€ I took home a fantastic portrait optics. I especially love the bokeh and sharpness at all openings. I confirm the tendency to warm colors, but it can be corrected with two clicks. On a7iii autofocus very performing especially in AF-C. On affinity photo I had to create a profile to correct some distortion, but nothing striking. I recommend it!

samyang_af18_f2-8feSamyang AF 18mm f/2.8 FE

Pros: sharpness, weight, size

Cons: flare, virtually useless lampshade, not very precise focus

Opinion: I use this lens with my Sony A7s entirely in manual for both day and night landscapes. I am very satisfied with its sharpness, which becomes really great from f/5.6. The milky way is also really good, as it also happens with the old sammy 14mm. The only real problem in my opinion is the flare, which I notice a lot because I like to take pictures of sunsets, although I must say that there is worse (for example the Tokina 11-16mm first generation). For the price however I can only recommend it. Rating 8.5

nikon_d3500Nikon D3500

Pros: Weight, grip, ease of use, autofocus

Cons: No special button for ISO, high ISO performance, fixed LCD screen

Opinion: Many underestimate it as entry-level, but I have to say that it is not bad at all. It was my first purchase in the photography field last summer and I have to say that I'm still excited about it: I still use it, even after the purchase of my Sony A7s. I sold the 18-55mm for the Sigma 18-35mm 1.8, and together they churn out stunning photos in street focals (27-50mm equivalent). Coupled with 50mm 1.8G gives me some great portraits. I always use it at ISO maximum 320, no more because obviously for the price you can not expect who knows what sensor... then takes over the sony A7s which is a monster in the high ISO field. Basically, for me used at low ISO, RAW format and with the right optics, it is a very usable and nice machine to use. Recommended

sony_a7sSony A7s

Pros: Excellent performance in both photos and videos, featherweight, 12MP, ISO high hold

Cons: ergonomics (especially the front wheel, even if you get used to it over time), battery life, a little slow in ignition

Opinion: Bought used last October for 700 euros, including 4 batteries and battery grip Meike. In fact, after so many years you find really good deals for the A7s! I love this little camera. The 12MP for me is more than good since I am an amateur photographer and I do not have to make great prints. In any case, although it is not the A7RIV, I love the resolution of the images it gives! I use it with satisfaction for portraits, landscapes, astros and macros, always shooting in RAW (I can't comment on JPEGs). In the video, there is nothing to say, a real beast, with autofocus ranging from god (with sony 28mm and samyang 18mm). Also, with the right lenses, it doesn't really weigh anything. The only complaints I have are, as other users specified, the battery life (I have to carry at least two when I go out), and the ergonomics of the wheel in front, really jammed in a strange way forcing you to rub your index finger on the camera rather than on the wheel... but I got used to it. For me I vote 8.5/10
