nikon_d80Nikon D80

Pros: Unattainable CCD, discreet, light files with colors comparable only to fuji

Cons: Nothing for me !!

Opinion: I started attending the digital reflex in 2008 with her, exchanging it on the same day with the d60 I had just taken, but after a few minutes it seemed little to me. Sold to go to d90 then to d7000, then d610, d750, d4 creating a scary outfit but the weight began to be felt together with the fear that in some secondary street someone would "notice" me too much, so I probed the z's and some Oly as well as Sigma (a world apart), a year ago in a month I sold everything to switch to fuj which "is" photography as I understand it ...... But D80 and D200 are still with me and although I already own a D80 (which I will convert to full spectrum) I just bought another one like new with 2 years of warranty and putting my eye back on it was a unique emotion. Finding the colors and sharpness that those 10mpx can give to those who know how to use it was fantastic, how to make a portrait without that harshness that makes my wife's beautiful face something unknown as the new sensors do, it is priceless because they are not soft images but real photos. If you try to take photos d80 and d200 will allow you to do it with that unique sensor and too expensive for economies of scale... but which, lo and behold, seems to be mounted on Abble.

sigma_sd10Sigma SD10

Pros: A world apart, "physical" files, analog colors, perfect ergonomics, build quality

Cons: Management of a single sensor through an inadequate and anachronistic system not today, but already in 2003

Opinion: In 2005 I was given a small Canon A95 and the ability to shoot without limits, compensated for the gap with the quality of the film, from there Nikon "every" up to D5 then too much weight pushed me towards Oly with its lightness and its colors, a year ago in my hands I get a Fuji XT-2 and between rows, Unique colors and analog ergonomics I compose another kit. A month ago I read about the foveon, study, I think then, a week ago, the "monkey" starts and I take an sd10 to 250 euros and I discover that I have not understood anything after tens of thousands of euros spent ..... where comes this 3mpx sensor that returns images "absolute", dense and sharp to go crazy but provided you resume the photographic technique of when I was 18 years old (today 61), to fight with a management system that is not granted, with optics that are not found and with the general rejection of many CF cards in addition to the need to be patient for the embarrassing buffer times and PhotoPro ..... Result? I wait for an Sd1 Merril and every free moment I spend it re-learning to shoot at 100 iso and with the tripod, enhanced by how, even with a dim light, the brilliant foveon, steals every detail present in the scene and, absolute madness, even in the dark !!! To try and then love or hate. For a few ... only for those of us who love to steal the soul from reality......

nikon_z_fcNikon Z fc

Pros: Aesthetics, practicality, files

Cons: lack of optics

Opinion: I can't lay it.... view and desired . What can I say, a spectacle, beautiful to the eye and to the touch, simple and above all made for the manual. I got with the zoom 16-50, I hope I get soon the 50-250 and the 28 but who knows. The first shots with a Z gave me the feeling of being able to challenge the dark and it is so, unfortunately the only optics that I managed to get quickly are the manual TTartisan aps-c chinese but I must admit that they pleasantly impressed me both because aesthetically the silver pair is spectacular given the impeccable build quality and both for the unexpected result. I went back in time of 30/40 years having the feeling of walking around with a Nikon F around my neck and I felt reassured by being able and having to decide how to shoot, but not having to centellinare the frames due to the limitedness of the film. Priceless to have to think about how to set the opening, in short, the pleasure of shooting without optimizing algorithms but increasingly invasive. Certainly the nostalgia effect is strong but then the shot takes over when lightness and responsiveness make everything more pleasant and natural. The AF was the thing that left perplexed in ML but I discovered to be my preconception, because I washed back precision, speed and efficiency even if I love the manual. Nikon has finally hit the mark and I did not feel the lack of an FF sensor indeed, yet I am used to emblazoned and pro bodies but this jewel has given me back the desire to shoot with simplicity by adjusting the optics and not the settings of the machine, which, however, is very simple through the very convenient button "i" that in the eyepiece allows every possible adjustment in fact I recommend keeping the display closed is not needed. Actually the battery door is not up to par but I confess that it is a venial sin also because it must be used very little especially because it is charged via usb great thing; the handle for me is more than fine even if I took the dedicated grip but only to protect the bottom. Some time ago I got caught up in another wonderful object, the Olympus Pen-f spectacular too and that meets the same needs or get suggestive and natural shots, without the weight of bodies and reflex optics and without the fear of becoming too flashy for the bad guys because I love to travel and go where tourists do not go and be seen around with a d5 is not always "hygienic" but then the weight is not it I hold up more. I have always been in love with Nikon and this Fc I have been waiting for a long time, I tried with the Df but it has never fully convinced me despite being fantastic, while this creature makes me crazy !!!! Thanks Nikon, but bring out some more performing and bright optics, maybe F style !!!!

nikon_d200Nikon D200

Pros: CCD sensor, construction, ergonomics and new CCD sensor

Cons: Nothing

Opinion: I entered the Nikon world with a D60 that I changed after just two hours with a D80, then D90, D7000, D610, D750 ,DF and D4 with a falling in love for a delicious Olympus Pen F with all its micro optics (a world apart not comparable) and now I wait for the D780 but still being able to enjoy so many advanced and performing bodies , in my eyes I had those real and film colors left, those soft and natural faces that gave me the D80 and I bought it back a couple of years ago for a treat but, by now, I liked to get close and I thought, especially after reading the enthusiastic comments that precede me, to take a d200 that, cpn the D80, shared the sensor, then shared the sensor, then , after also studying the difference between the two sensors discovering that the ccd was abandoned in favor of the cmos because it was too expensive, energy-heavy and complex to manage, but also that the CCD is still used, but only in extra-professional areas, a few days ago I searched for a D200 awarding me one for 70 euros with only 1450 shots, I feared it was a "package" instead it is really new (a shot of ....) , I think abandoned in a closet, and I'm having fun like a child discovering an ancient, simple but funny toy found in the attic. With only 10 mpx returns images at a time soft and sharp, but, above all, unique colors that have nothing to do with those of the Cmos but certainly is my opinion. Over the years I have tried to improve by going from one model to another not perceiving, however, that improvement that, personally, I expected (we save the D4 that I still consider spectacular although too cumbersome ) but put the eye behind the eye of this old lady, I resumed to shoot a lot; I find all the controls I need on the fly, getting fantastic and light files, also enjoying (who likes) an iso grain over 800, from film and a B&N from darkroom . I hope you never read these words, but I'm happy to have taken close-ups of my wife without the fear that the photo will reproduce every little sign that the ignominy of the time that passes has left on her beautiful face, which happens with the new sensors that are relentless and that often return of faces irrecovered by traits that in reality are not perceptible with the same dramatic evidence . Certainly sharpness and definition should be appreciated, but modern sensors are as sharp as blades and highlight, in the play of perspectives, lights and shadows, what, I repeat, to the naked eye is not perceived. Sharp not sharp which is another thing and does not depend on pixels. Find one in good condition and forget about the technical data, speed gadgets and pixels to regain the pleasure of shooting with simpleness and cheerfulness.
