![]() | Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8 L USM II Pros: practically everything (or almost) Cons: Nothing at all Opinion: Beyond the technical characteristics, it is a great lens. I do everything with it and with always excellent results, relative to my expectations. It is extremely versatile, robust, sharp. The constant opening at 2.8 allows various uses in even adverse conditions. It's a bit heavy and lacks stabilization, but that's really minor. It's worth the expense, it's worth it all. sent on February 27, 2025 |
![]() | DJI Air 3 Pros: excellent video and photo quality Cons: the weight of 720 grams obliges the ENAC license by law also for recreational use. There are many legal limits Opinion: I use DJI drones of all kinds for work. They are all extremely reliable, of excellent quality and high video photographic performance. Usually, one model rather than another is used according to the shooting needs. However, there is an exquisitely technical-legal problem, relating for example to the "AIR 3" model, which exceeds 250g in weight (it is 720). This requires by law to take an exam to obtain the license that enables the driving of quadcopters over 249 grams. To obtain the license, it is necessary to take courses (or study privately) to become a UAV (Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems) pilot. However, even for models under 250 grams, registration with ENAC and insurance is always mandatory. Technically I find the whole DJI range (even the Mini series) absolutely excellent. sent on December 11, 2024 |
![]() | Canon G7 X Mark III Pros: remarkable ease of use, lightness and size, excellent video and audio Cons: autofocus, slow zoom even in manual, arrangement of the on/off button, - photo quality not up to par - high price Opinion: I had the G1X mark II (but also a Lumix LX5) and I was very satisfied. I needed a good quality photo/video handyman for quick and light reportage. After a thousand second thoughts between a Lumix and Canon I chose the latter. Lightness and size are remarkable features of this machine. The quality of the photos is certainly not optimal (it is positioned above a good smartphone, but below any APSC such as the Canon 750 equipped with 18-135) but the video sector is absolutely satisfactory, with excellent audio. I find the on/off button positioned too centrally being uncomfortable, the zoom (from which you can not expect much) is slow even in manual. The most obvious problem lies in the autofocus, often slow and inaccurate in each mode. too many "toys" with filters and unnecessary automatisms, but ultimately, however, as a travel compact and / or video photo report is remarkable. I also used to shoot for small reportage works with 7-10 kg of equipment, which I can now make with less than 2 kg, including tools. sent on August 12, 2022 |
![]() | Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 STM Pros: lightness, sharpness, good blur... unsurpassed price Cons: materials, af... Opinion: Sure, it has its limits and shows them if put to the test for intensive and complex uses, but it's really a boon. A lens that can return excellent if not even excellent images at an unimaginable price... especially if Canon. The autofocus (at least in mine) lacks precision, but his work (at this price) does it well. Very recommended to those who start and still to keep in the bag. A "plastic" that can surprise. sent on November 04, 2019 |
