![]() | Sigma 35mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art Pros: It's a Sigma ART Cons: Nothing Opinion: With this perspective I completed my triad 35-50-85 Sigma ART f/1.4 and with this I think I have already said it all. The files it churns out are gorgeous, embarrassing sharpness already at TA like the 50 and 85 on the other hand. Accustomed to often mounting the beast of '85 (which weighs 1.2 kg) this lens does not weigh me at all. I'm not a lover of the 35mm focal length for portraits but this lens made me change my mind a bit. sent on August 05, 2022 |
![]() | Canon RF 35mm f/1.8 Macro IS STM Pros: Lightweight, compact. Cons: Vignette a lot. Opinion: I kept it for 2 years, first with the RP and then with the R5. It is an honest lens: small, light, compact, stabilized and even partially Macro at a reasonable price. I sold it because it didn't satisfy me for portraits (the Sigma ART 35mm 1.4 is on another planet). With open apertures vignette so much, too much for my taste, the AF is not lightning. In general it is a good lens but it does not excel in anything, but on the other hand the price is low and therefore there is that it is so. I recommend it for street so as not to catch the eye, to those who want to use it for traveling or in general want to be light. sent on August 03, 2022 |
![]() | Apple iPhone 13 Pro Pros: It's an iPhone. Cons: Lightning attack Opinion: Bought months ago to upgrade my iPhone XR. It was still fine but was a bit poor on the video and photo side. I didn't care much about the photos, for that I use my camera, but for videos I prefer to use my smartphone, making videos with an R5 for social content for Instagram in fact makes little sense. That said, video and photo side did not disappoint me at all, it is really at the TOP. I have the 256gb version. I was undecided between the Pro and the Pro Max but the latter was really too big and anyway for video editing I use the iPad Pro (I use Lumafusion, in my opinion the best video editing app for iPad). The quality of the materials and the display is excellent, ditto the fluidity of the screen. Fast device, great battery life. Among the cons I put the lightning attack even more so that now in the iPad they have put the USB C, so you find yourself having to change and exchange cables, the time has come that they also put on the iPhone the USB C ... obviously they will not do it because otherwise they could not sell their cables for 25 euros. Accessories in general cost a lot, but those who buy an iPhone already know this. Indispensable for those who have an Apple ecosystem (iMac, iPad), the airdrop allows you to transfer files in a few seconds without any more banging. sent on July 29, 2022 |
![]() | Canon EOS R5 Pros: Speed, AF, stabilization, grip, resolution, EVF, LCD display, connectivity, beautiful aesthetically. Cons: Superior display switch mode from photo to video menu, a bit 'weight. Opinion: I state that I come from an RP for which the jump was obviously considerable. I've had it for a long time and I still haven't tested it 100%. Needless to say, it is a gem, very fast, the AF with eye tracking is a sniper. EVF and display quality are at the top, touch is worthy of an iPhone, perfect Canon-style menus as well as connectivity, connects on the fly with the smartphone via the native app and in a few seconds you transfer photos. As for the small upper display I do not like the way to switch from the photo menu to the video one, in practice you have to press two keys, I know they are small, but I have always been used to the wheel that was more practical even if aesthetically less beautiful. I don't really like the level and the focus dot that you see on the EVF, they are too small in my opinion, on the RP they were a little more invasive but they could be seen better. Beautiful aesthetically, as well as the materials and grip. Coming from an RP that weighs only 450 grams obviously I feel a bit the difference in weight (it weighs almost double). I do not pronounce on the video side because I use it very little, even if with the potential it has it is really a waste not to use it, so who knows ... maybe I'll try more. sent on September 08, 2021 |
![]() | Canon EOS RP Pros: Lightweight, compact, good grip, touch, quick and easy to use Cons: Dynamic range, shadow retrieval in pp Opinion: I've had it for 2 years and I'm going to move on to R5, I don't know if I'll keep it as a second body or if I'll keep it (we'll see). This camera has been slaughtered a little bit by everyone and often unfairly. No one understood that it is a FF with almost compact size and very low price, which has an adjustable display with a touch worthy of an iPhone, EVF more than satisfactory, beautiful aesthetically and also to the touch. I also use it with the Sigma ART 85mm f/1.4 which weighs 1.2 kg (which combined with the EF-RF adapter becomes 1.3 kg) then three times the same RP that weighs just over 450 grams and without additional grip. The AF is excellent and eye tracking is also good. Great for all genres except sports. Those who do sports genre or videos of a certain level will not even watch this machine. Unfortunately it does not have an excellent dynamic range and the recoveries of pp shadows generate noise... but if you shoot under the "right" conditions the files you find are very beautiful and often you don't have to do anything about it in pp. It has so many futures that not even more famous machines have. sent on April 30, 2021 |
