He conducts research at Roma Tre University, focusing on the use of biological indicators, particularly diatoms and macroinvertebrates, to assess the ecological status of aquatic environments, especially ephemeral ecosystems such as alpine temporary ponds and Mediterranean wetlands.
His research integrates functional approaches, experimental ecotoxicology, and geospatial analysis, contributing to the understanding of biodiversity dynamics in fragile ecosystems and the development of conservation strategies. He has conducted studies on plastic pollution (macro-, micro-, and nanoplastics) in natural, urban, and marine environments, analyzing interactions with biological communities and effects on model organisms across different trophic levels. He has also developed passive biomonitoring methods using epiphytic lichens and bird communities as indicators of airborne microplastic pollution.
In parallel, he carries out ornithological monitoring activities as a trainee bird ringer, collaborating with Italian ringing stations and participating in research and conservation projects focused on migratory bird species. He is active within LIPU (Italian League for Bird Protection), contributing to wildlife conservation and rehabilitation.
His scientific and outreach activities have gained attention from national and international media, including outlets such as WWF The Circle, Modern Sciences, ZME Science, and El Espectador, which have highlighted his contributions to ecological research and environmental awareness.
In 2023, he was awarded the “Luigi Michaud” Prize for Young Ecologists by the Italian Society of Ecology (S.It.E.) in recognition of the quality and originality of his scientific work in the field of aquatic ecosystem conservation.
He holds a Bachelor's degree in Biology (2019), with a thesis in marine ecology, and a Master's degree in Biodiversity and Ecosystem Management (2020), both from Roma Tre University. Since 2021, he has been registered with the Italian National Order of Biologists (Section A), as the youngest certified professional in Italy that year.
His work has been published in peer-reviewed national and international journals in the fields of ecology, ecotoxicology, ornithology, and conservation biology.Member of JuzaPhoto from June 17, 2019
