Pros: Weight, robustness, ease of use, photo quality, virtually eternal battery, price

Cons: Digital noise increases very quickly when the ISO is raised, burst shooting is slow, autofocus in Liveview mode is very slow

Opinion: Frankly, I can't imagine a better camera for beginners: it's simple, basic, no-frills, and allows you to focus on the basics without getting lost in a myriad of distracting options. I don't think it's plasticky: that is, it's plastic, but it's very solid and doesn't scratch. The battery, if you're not always going back and forth on the display, lasts an eternity (it's given for 500 shots, but I think it can do even more). The sensor is good and manages to take beautiful photos in good light conditions. But, if you turn up the ISO (let's say from 3200 onwards) the noise is noticeable. Autofocus in Liveview mode (when using the LCD) is so slow that it is unusable for any moving subject. The focus points are few, but using the optical viewfinder the autofocus is lightning fast. Overall: great to start and practice the fundamentals while also enjoying the satisfaction of some nice photos.

Pros: Weight, photo quality, ease of use, price.

Cons: Lack of functions, economical construction.

Opinion: An honest car, which is well worth what it costs. Very small, it is incredibly light. On the other hand, such lightness, perhaps even excessive, gives the feeling of a body built in economy. From the photographic point of view, unless you are looking for exceptional performance in specific fields (sports photography and similar), you can not complain about anything: the sensor is really good, gives very sharp photographs even with the plastic 18-55 kit. The yield at high iso is excellent, considering the segment, with images absolutely exploitable even at 3200. The focus is always precise, as long as you use the central point, and relatively fast. Unfortunately, being designed for newbies, it lacks many functions: no spot exposure measurement, very few flash modes, no precision manual adjustment of the maf... Then a few direct commands: it will be that I am used to my Sony SLRs, which are a riot of rings, levers and buttons, but here for too many things you have to access the menu. But these are small things: we are talking about a machine that costs just over 500 euros with optics. The value for money is excellent, and all the criticisms that I have made go to decay, if you consider it as an entry level.

Pros: Weight, price, ease of use, understandable menu

Cons: AF, too few focus points, lack of SPOT measurement, exposure lock button

Opinion: This is an entry level, so we cannot expect excellence. The price, currently about 500 euros (at 559 if including a bag), is captivating for those who want to approach the world of photography. To tell the truth the quality of the photos, if you soon abandon the 18-55 kit lens, and use very cheap lenses such as the 24 mm pancake (which I do not love but does its job) or the 50 mm Canon, is not bad at all and manages to offer great satisfaction to newbies. The menu of immediate understanding allows, to those who for the first time turn on a camera, not to waste a lot of time to understand how it works. And this is a great merit because to learn to photograph you simply have to photograph and not go crazy to understand all the infinite options. The limits, beyond a not very fast AF, lie in the few points of focus and in the lack of SPOT measurement of exposure (there are the evaluative one, weighed in the center and partial). The lack of SPOT measurement is something that, especially in an SLR, I struggle to understand and that prevents, in my opinion, a fundamental moment of a photographer's learning, especially against the light with the relative need to compensate for the exposure. The exposure lock lasts too little and it is better to hold down the button (which is a bit uncomfortable). So the ISO (extendable up to 12800 through the customization function). In summary, the 2000d is recommended for those who approach the world of photography and want a decent camera at a low price and easy to use; it is not suitable for those who discover that they are passionate about photography, because after a short time they will feel the need for a camera with a higher quality.

Pros: Light weight, ergonomics, stabilizer, well done menu.

Cons: Burst and autofocus.

Opinion: Let's start from the fact that it is an entry level, so you can not expect it to do what a professional machine can do. Surely it is a machine that to learn the first steps for photography is fine. Let's say that I found myself well with ergonomics and all in all the weight that with the kit is light. The autofocus is not a strong point of this machine but however the shot takes it home. The gust is too little. I gave 8 in total for what the machine offers at a decidedly low price, being an entry level. If you want to take a step forward at a professional level this machine is definitely to be left or sold.

Pros: Great product for quality and price

Cons: for now I am not yet in a position to assess the cons

Opinion: Good morning, it's been a few months since I started taking pictures with a SLR. I started with a Canon eos 1300D for about 6 months and then a friend of mine lent me his 2000D for a couple of days and I fell in love. So I gave back the 1300D, which I was valued more than I had paid for it and with little I bought myself the 2000D. I state that I am a beginner, but the machine helps me a lot, because it is simple and intuitive to use. I see that the results are improving more and more and therefore for me excellent purchase. I think I'll keep it as long as it goes and over time and some extra money... maybe used I will take something more professional.
