![]() | Patona Premium D-LI90 Pros: Great alternative to the original. Cons: Contacts that tend to become opaque must be periodically cleaned. Opinion: Taken as a second battery for the Pentax K3-II, excellent capacity, similar to the original, it has the only cons that the contacts have a tendency to become opaque making sometimes problematic both the connection with the charger and with the camera itself, so periodically they must be cleaned, otherwise it will neither recharge (and this happens to me punctually that I connect it to the charger) nor turn on the camera (and strangely this sometimes, not always). For the rest, nothing to object, it replaces the original well, and given the lower cost compared to the original it is a good purchase. sent on December 30, 2024 |
![]() | Pentax DA HD 55-300mm f/4-5.8 ED WR Pros: Perfect and very pleasant grip, sharp at all focal lengths, fast AF in micro-shifts, Pentax colors! Cons: AF very noisy, AF rather slow in macro shifts, NOT stabilized. Opinion: Very good lens, extremely pleasant to hold, combined with the k3-2 it balances perfectly and in the hand it is held with extreme pleasure. Sharp at all focal lengths, with low AC and Pentax colors (!), with a beautiful grip, I call it "enjoyable". the AF is fast and accurate in micro-shifts (small focus variations), instead in macro-shifts it is rather slow and quite noisy, but the main defect in my opinion is the lack of stabilization, which makes the vision in the viewfinder, especially at longer focal lengths, very shaky, and this annoys me a lot. Overall a great lens. sent on September 26, 2024 |
![]() | Pentax HD DA 18-50mm f/4-5.6 DC WR RE Pros: Lightweight, compact, good sharpness, fast AF, typical Pentax contrast and color rendering, special lens hood that excludes the need to mount UV filters, pressure cap. Cons: Plastic attachment; a bit dark; AC sometimes intrusive; but above all the release mechanism that makes it look like a toy. Opinion: A good lens if it weren't for this rather fake unlocking mechanism, which greatly detracts from its good optical qualities. It's not a blade like its big brother 16-85 but it does its job quite well, good sharpness with color rendering and contrast in line with pentax lenses (and this is already worth the expense) with a fast and precise AF (except for some rare cases, especially at the beginning, of f/b focus). Taken for its lightness it turned out to be more than my expectations, where it lightened a lot my outings with the K3-2, the only drawback in the performance are the Chromatic Aberrations sometimes excessive and annoying. Unfortunately, the unlocking mechanism is aberrant (the Nikon is much better), it makes it look like a toy and severely limits the pleasure of use. If your need is to lighten (as well as make more compact) your rides, I would say that it turns out to be a good purchase. sent on March 25, 2024 |
![]() | Nikon AF-S DX 35mm f/1.8 G Pros: Small, Lightweight, Versatile, Sharp (even too much), F 1.8, metal bayonet, great fun. Cons: Not stabilized! AF not lightning fast like the last AF-P, sometimes limping in low light and a bit noisy. I repeat: NOT STABILIZED Opinion: Optics to have in your DX kit, very fun to use. Ideal x compact and light outputs, it is appreciated x the nesting on the whole frame, already good at f1.8 that becomes excellent aperture a little. F1.8 that becomes indispensable as well as fun in low light conditions (paying attention to the pdc that is reduced a lot, better to use the unwritten rule of hyperfocal). 50mm equivalents are excellent x portraits set, where it shows off an excellent sharpness and a good bokeh, but too long in case of landscape that can be solved by composing panoramic shots. The only real big con is the lack of stabilizer, which is also missing on DX cameras forces you to use shutter speeds not less than 1/50 (better 1/60), sometimes nullifying the excellent brightness at f1.8 rising alas ISO. Rated 9.5 considered the very popular price of the new. A best buy ! sent on May 11, 2023 |
![]() | Pentax DA HD 16-85mm f/3.5-5.6 ED DC WR Pros: All! Cons: I would say essentially the weight and size are important, if you like to travel with it (car + lens 1.3kg) is to keep in mind this detail. Opinion: Simply excellent lens, very sharp from f3.5 to f16, a razor to f8, very fast in AF, very versatile, starts from 16mm (24mm eq), reduced AC (which I hate), we photograph mainly landscape. Combined with the K3-ii it is simply perfect, with a professional cut and an extremely pleasant result, both in contrast and colors! Despite the aperture of F3.5 at 16mm I took some remarkable photos of the Milky Way (without using the Astro Tracer). I must admit that together with the K3-II it literally made me pass the FF monkey. Beautiful rendering. What can I say: Brava Pentax! sent on October 23, 2022 |
![]() | Pentax K-3 II Pros: aps-c almost definitive, stabilized sensor, good resistance to high iso, very very pleasant colors, jpeg / raw crispy beautiful and ready to use, often require only small tweaks, good burst, extreme completeness of functions, solid and massive, in the hand you hold perfectly, rich but simple and intuitive menu, superior display, good viewfinder, very high q/p ratio, discreet battery (400-600 shots). Cons: few defects, but some very relevant: focus (af-S) sometimes uncertain, care must be taken that sometimes from confirmation of fire with the subject out of focus; switch key (pad) between af points and navigation in the menu that often forces you to look away from the viewfinder x avoid changing settings accidentally (I happened to change the WB unintentionally); proprietary PP software simply embarrassing, old and very slow, x PP more marked forces the use of more sophisticated software (see LR, PS, etc) or freeware but difficult (Darktable, Raw Therapy and similar); a bit heavy x who travels but is forgiven x the beautiful and compact livery; live view rather slow and cumbersome. Opinion: Great beautiful car, it is giving me many many satisfactions, starting from the quality of the photos it churns out (jpg in the room), I am often enchanted to look at them so beautiful they are; extreme completeness of functions (GPS, Atrotracer, HDR, Bracketing, multi-shot shots), you can practically photograph everything, and in all situations (do not fear rain and cold). Beautiful to look at (the subsequent machines I do not like as aesthetics), massive, it is all substance, so much substance, machine with a very very high quality / price ratio, which will surely leave its owners happy. ![]() | Nikon AF-P DX 70-300mm f/4.5-6.3G VR Pros: All Cons: Nothing, nothing Opinion: Unexpectedly sharp at all the focal points (at 300mm I thought I have mediocre photos and instead...), fast, quiet, ultra light, very effective stabilization (I shot at 300mm at 1/15 !), with this lens was love at first click! Defects? Do you really have any flaws? For now not received (to be fussy who has defects are me, as photographer) Ratio quality/price simply unbeatable. When they say that the Nikon brand enjoys "Brand Loyalty" this is the classic example. Today, April 2020, I update my review, after a nice period of use: Only relevant flaw: the white plastic cap covering the bayonet! removing it and putting it back often scratches (the cap) internally, wearing free of the microscopic particles that go to dirty the sensor (at every lens change I was with the dirty sensor!) I solved it by changing it with the LF-4 cap. I haven't had any problems since. X the rest confirm my excellent initial impressions. sent on October 20, 2019 |
![]() | Nikon AF-P 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 G DX VR Pros: Sharp, light, stabilized Cons: Chromatic aberrations, focal range Opinion: Sharp, fast, quiet, ultra light, very effective stabilization. The barrel distortion towards the wide-angle focals are automatically corrected, chromatic aberration (especially towards the edges) to be corrected in PP, flare almost inexistent, the real limit I find in the focal range, too normal, too limiting x my tastes, but these are personal tastes more than real flaws. Pulling the sums, considering the price, has unbeatable quality/price ratio, a best buy in practice. Today, April 2020 I update my review after a long period of use. ![]() | Nikon D3400 Pros: Lightweight, Dynamic Range, Photo Quality, Battery Life Cons: Lacks Bracketing, not 100% view cover, slow live-view and exosious energy. Opinion: It's my first DSLR, chosen after months and months to browse the internet reviews of Nikon (D5600), Pentax (k70), Fuji (xt20), Sony (a6000), I convinced myself to take it for its sensor, high dynamic range (the recovery of shadows and highlights in PP is amazing) I certainly can't make comparisons with ML or FF not owning them, but on the internet everyone talks about it very well, and given its really low initial price I took it. Well, what about, as an amateur amateur photographer I enjoy a mess, I'm very happy; at first my photos were flat, dull, without thickness, x nothing beautiful, but once I learned a bit of PP (now I shoot only in RAW) here she gives me delicious shots, beyond my most rosy expectations. It's very light (I go around with less than 1kg with its 18-55VR and 70-300VR), with a battery charge I do ca 600-700 photos, the controls I learned immediately, well arranged, the menu is quite intuitive, even the videos are excellent x my modest needs about it , which add... As defects, well, I would have preferred that there was Bracketing (I would try some HDR shots), and that the scope covered 100% of the frame (I "defaced" some good shots with elements present at the ends of the frame not visible in the crosshairs), the live-view is precise but slow and consumes a lot more battery (sin), in Manual mode the SETTING of ISOs is a bit cumbersome, and the Nikon Capture NX-D software is really basic, with more than one flaw. But the merits of the D3400 far outweigh the flaws! I couldn't be happier, just a happy purchase! sent on October 16, 2019 |
